Remember, Pearls ( and likely other subordinate gems) see their owners as "everything." That's what Pearl said about Rose and how she taught Connie to view Steven.
I’m not sure if this is foreshadowing or not, but in the episode Letters to Lars when Sadie and her band are practicing for their concert in Beach City, Mayor Dewey (in a ghost costume) says “And then I’ll come out...”, maybe something will happen after Sadie’s concert?
LOL NO if that actually was something they foreshadowed I would have lost it but Lion really doesn’t even care enough he also spends more time protecting Connie since she is a human he knows Steven is easily capable of stomping anything that gets in his way
