      The first exam of any class is usually the hardest because you have no idea the professor’s exam style! Glad that you did not get discouraged after exam one (I’ve failed a pretty good amount of first exams in my classes lol)!

      It’s easy if you have a basic understanding of anatomy and some classes go well with patho. The Professor’s PowerPoint slides have most of the answers on the test for each chapter and the book goes more in depth

      Hey, I made a video talking about how I prepared for the HESI. Most nursing programs require you to take the HESI or the TEAS before acceptance, and Chamberlain requires the HESI.
      I got a prep book to study, which was REALLY helpful! I also looked online at quizlets! Good luck!!

    Hi Melissa! Thanks so much for sharing these tips! I attend Chamberlain’s Michigan campus. I just finished my pre-reqs and will be starting my nursing courses in January after winter break. I will be taking Health and Wellness (online) and Pathophysiology (hybrid). I’m nervous since I tend to get anxious during exams, but your advice makes me feel more confident and how to prepare prior to the session starting. Do you have any advice on how I should navigate and study for both classes? Thanks so much again and congratulations as you continue your journey 😊

      Thank you for watching! Good luck next session!!
      Depending on how you learn best, I would say watch TH-cam videos in your free time for pathophysiology. Videos with animation can be a great tool to help you review what you’re learning from the book, and it helps to breakdown concepts in a simpler way.
      As for juggling the two classes- make sure to stay on top of your work, or even work ahead if you are able to!

    I hope this isn't a stupid question lol, is it important to study hard for pre-reqs or do i just need to make sure that i study hard when accepted in the nursing program? Please explain

    • @theluckienurse
      @theluckienurse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey it’s not a stupid question!!! So you should study hard for pre-reqs for a few reasons.
      1. Nursing school acceptance is competitive. So the higher your GPA, the higher your chance is of getting accepted into a program. And of course, the more you study, the higher your GPA likely will be.
      2. Nursing school courses build off of each other. So when you are taking pathophysiology in nursing school, it helps to have a strong background in A&P!
      If you enter into a program like chamberlain, it is still important to study hard in pre-reqs to keep your GPA up. Once you graduate, some nurse residency programs have a minimum GPA requirement!

    If one has had Bachelor's degree in different discipline, at the same time comes in with the complete prerequisites, how many years still remain before graduation, right ?
    Can a student accelerate the classes as fast as he / she wants to finish up before 1.5 or 2 years?

    • @theluckienurse
      @theluckienurse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I believe the fastest that you can complete the program is two years and four months. Definitely speak with an advisor about this. You can only take one nursing course at a time, so it will take some time off the program for you if you come in with all your prerequisites finished, but you’ll still have over two years of the program.

    • @theluckienurse
      @theluckienurse  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately, this can happen in any class depending on your professor! So with a class like patho, when there are so many different diseases, if your professor doesn’t know what’s going to be on the exam they may go over things that you don’t need to know for the test. And then skip over material that will be on.on the exam

    Do you get your textbooks when you first get your syllabus or does chamberlain give you a list of all the book you need when your accepted?

    • @theluckienurse

      Hey! You get a list of textbooks for each course after you register for each course. Chamberlain has an online bookstore. Once you log into your account, The bookstore will give you a list of all of your currently needed textbooks. I personally do not get hardcopies of any textbook… I purchase the electronic version of each book

    How about the Edapts? How did you manage studying with those?

    • @theluckienurse
      @theluckienurse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To be honest, I did not use Edapt as a learning tool at all.. or as a way of studying. Some of my classmates were able to learn from it- but I am more of hands on and an audio/visual learner.
      I would do Edapt assignments during the week, either at work if I had a little bit of time or in the evenings after work. I would treat it like busywork that I just had to get through. And once I got that out-of-the-way, then I would use other tools to study and actually learn information.
