Praxus Point is that they wouldn't see it as a technicality if this came out early. Any normal human being would take that as an admission of being in episode 7, so the producers wouldn't let him get away with it.
There's a video where the actors/actresses of The Last Jedi are in a compliment battle, where they have to read actual compliments from fans posted online. His reactions to these compliments were so incredible. He seemed so genuinely shocked, and humbled. At one point it looked like he might start tearing up. Seeing that moved me, to see someone of his level of fame react like he couldn't believe or handle the impact of the kind words of his fans was beautiful.
Humble? I kinda doubt that. He made fun of Trump's grandson when the little kid was wearing a Star Wars costume on that kid's Star Wars-themed birthday party during the height of the anti-Trump thing. I mean, mock Trump all he wants, I don't care. I didn't even vote for Trump. However, leave his little grandchild out of it. He should've realised that, considering he's a grandpa too. Other than that, I agree he's such a professional actor. I love him more as The Joker than Luke Skywalker, though.
+Daemus_TV I agree. He was awesome and memorable as luke, but then we stopped hearing from him for years on TV, he comes back with a bang. It's comparable too: he vanishes to train in the sequel and comes back more awesome in The Return of the Jedi.
It is very surprising someone so famous can be so humble and genuine. This guy makes more money that i will ever see in my life time, yet he spends the time every single day to talk to his fans on Twitter. He isnt paid for that. He has no obligation to do that whatsoever. It is something he himself chooses to do. And i am absolutely ecstatic that people in this world are like him. I bow to you sir.
He was paid 1.5 mil for his role in the force awakens. Think about his role and youll realize, the man was paid over a million dollars to turn around................
Mark Mamill was the ultimate Joker. His voice haunts me 20 years later! "Ohhh Batsey!" No one EVER called Batman Batsey before that. It changed everything. Add Harley Quinn out of the blue and he suddenly became the coolest Joker ever. Period. Thank you Mark Hamill! Your legacy will live on in multiple stories forever. May the force be with you.
Great interview. Mark is such a great voice actor, just hear him imitate different people on the spot it's awesome. Personally I'm looking most forward to Star Citizen the multiplayer part, but I'm definitely getting more hyped for Squadron 42 as well.
I would like it in a reasonable amount of time. Fashioned correctly without these extensions. For the money they have gotten they could have easily had the expertise to get this game in a solid working state. But dumb decisions like buying a game engine that is 32 bit without understanding it's limitations is one step. Anyone could have told Chris that hey buddy you're going to need a 64 bit. Not to mention feature creep. You realize they sourced out for STAR MARIENE? An that studio finished it then SC & Chris decided to scrap it all. I played that and it was decent. I'm sure it has something to do with "Unified Rig." Don't even get me started on procedural planets. The project has been restarted 2 times I believe. This game wont be done for years. By that time I think that most of this tech that they spent inventing will be overshadowed and done by others. Honestly, we are already seeing it in other games. Excuses like it's an unfamiliar engine only work for so long. 10 years isn't the worst part. The worst part is being 10 years and no semblance of being complete. An ALPHA is where you polish and optimize. it's the last 20 percent being generous. For most companies it's the last 10 percent. I still love the game but dying just getting out of a seat is a real issue. Ship blowing up for no reason is an issue. There are so many issues mate.
What a really great interview! Its really, really cool to see such an iconic actor talk about their work in such a down-to-earth way, and that Harrison Ford impression followed up by "young Mark" voice was fantastic! Thanks, Mark Hamill, and thanks to everyone else that made this happen!
"When they did the movie version of Wing Commander, they did the younger versions of all of us. Freddie Prinze played me; we're mistaken for each other all the time so that's a natural choice." Mark, you da man. So much good quotables in this interview. I will forever more call you Grandpa Simpson.
I really liked the way you ended the interview. Mark Hamills statement on how he thanked the fans, backers of this new effort was indeed nice. I think this interview brought out some of his better qualities as a person not just an actor. Thank you.
I've always heard that he's an extremely nice guy, and it really comes through in interviews. Even if he wasn't Luke freaking Skywalker, you still couldn't help but like him.
Mark is a very humble, very intelligent and talented guy. Now he's been involved in the creation of two works of genius that will revolutionize yet another industry... first it was the movie industry with George Lucas and Episode IV and now it will be the gaming industry with Chris Roberts and Star Citizen.
He's such a legend. I think I am most excited about seeing Luke in VII out of everything I anticipate in the new film. I really hope we get to see him go full Jedi Master at some point and see him kick ass with a lightsaber.
Its funny to hear Mark Hamill talking about how he was worried that people would hate his Joker. His voice is so iconic, I hope he isn't too humble to understand how amazing his Joker is.
You can tell that he still loves the Star Wars universe, the way he lights up when talking about Star Wars. I'd support Hamill regardless of what role he takes, cause he's just that good of an actor.
That might be the coolest Mark Hamill interview I've seen. He's always relaxed. But usually there's a crowd screaming, or an interviewer that won't shut up and let him talk, etc. Excellent interview.
I've seen other interviews with him and he's always so welcoming and detailed like this. I really think it would be amazing to have a conversation with him.
You are great Mark Hamil! Luke Skywalker was and still is my favorite hero of all time, thank you for making his character come alive back in the day. Excited to see what you do in the new SW movies!!!!
Love Mark Hamill, you can tell he is genuine with his responses. His engagement with people in interviews and conversation points towards a man with an affinity towards loving human interaction. My kind of dude.
5 years later and Star Citizen is still officially not released :-D Anyway, a couple of days ago I wanted to show my son the intro to Wing Commander IV and I couldn't believe how bad the part where the stealth ships attack was! Back in the day, I thought that was the best thing ever!
Geez.... I have this unsurmountable amount of respect for both Hamill and Rhys Davies for still doing this at their age. They probably have enough money to retire several times over, and at their age, nobody would blame them one bit, but they f*in keep going doing these things. I just love them so much.
i shit you not, the last time i saw Mark Hamill was in the old Star Wars movies. I'm now seeing him for the 1st time since then and he got me thinking about life in general...damn, time sure flies.
Besdies how wonderfully humble Mr Hamill is here I love that fact they didn't even ask about his comic book past....or that he voice the infamous Joker, but he still throws it in when he goes off on a tangent lol :P
Playing Wing Commander III right now for the first time since the 90's and really enjoying it. Got it through Origins Access and it is running flawlessly on my Win10 machine.
It really was just a pleasure to sit here and just hear Mark. He could have been describing candy canes the whole time. He truly is a legendary figure.
Kinda nice seeing somebody interview him seriously about Wing Commander. Very much a sense of actors slummin' it in 1995, even though a lot of us kids were taking it seriously.

Mark Hamill helped define my childhood: Star Wars, Wing Commander (3,4, Prophecy), Guyver, etc. He continues to do the same for my 2 year old son on the animated series, Transformers Rescue Bots as the voice of Woodrow Burns. I can't wait to play Star Citizen even more now, knowing he and John Rhys Davies both have a part to play again. Might as well get "Thomas 'Biff/Maniac' Wilson" too.
And despite his apparent surprise at being cast as the Joker, he is still my second favourite portrayal of the Joker I've heard. He captured delight, madness and anger in the same moment so well. It was very impressive and captivating.
Watching his interviews is strangely mesmerizing just to hear him talk about things made me realize. Mark Hamil is pretty cool. Ya he even sounded like harrison ford spot on.
Its stuff like this that brings my attention more and more to the single player aspect of Star Citizen. The multiplayer part is something that I love, but now my hope is growing big for SQ42 as well. If they pull it off, this game will offer a lot.

"I'm not even authorised to tell you I'm in episode seven"
Hah crafty old Hamill.
+Azimov Valinor A slight technicality in terms of words, haha love it
+J BS If the producers actually cared they wouldn't accept that was just a "technicality".
+oBLACKIECHANoo They did care, that's why we only saw this interview after the NDA expired.
Praxus Point is that they wouldn't see it as a technicality if this came out early. Any normal human being would take that as an admission of being in episode 7, so the producers wouldn't let him get away with it.
+oBLACKIECHANoo well ... his name is on the movie poster ...
Mark Hamil's humility in spite of his greatness is amazing.
humility?
He's no diva. Hamill has a reputation for being very approachable despite being one of the most well known actors of all time.
There's a video where the actors/actresses of The Last Jedi are in a compliment battle, where they have to read actual compliments from fans posted online. Suisyo He is an actor...
Why can't more celebrities be as professional and humble and genuine as Mark Hamill?
Oh isnt that the truth!
He should've realised that, considering he's a grandpa too.

mark hamill is getting more and more awesome as he gets older
he certainly comes across as being more approachable, and dare I say humble, than Mr Ford.
+TehJumpingJawa Better *Ford* that to him, Maybe I can *Hamill* an address.
+TehJumpingJawa Yea but Ford is famously bad in interviews :D
+Daemus_TV I agree. He was awesome and memorable as luke, but then we stopped hearing from him for years on TV, he comes back with a bang. It's comparable too: he vanishes to train in the sequel and comes back more awesome in The Return of the Jedi.
+BlatentlyFakeName lately Ford has been crushing it on star wars 7 interviews
This interview could've gone on for hours and I would have been the happiest person alive.
+g0os1e I HIGHLY suggest listening to the 3 part episode of Fatman on Batman he did with Kevin Smith. THE FEELS!
listen to him on the podcast talkin toons
Oh yeah I forgot about that! Thanks for the reminder!
+g0os1e watch the Star Wars celebration panels too, there's a bunch of them out there and each is like an hour long, it's great :)
Thanks guys.
Talented and humble guy, Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill is so versatile. Who else plays iconic live action, cartoon, and video game characters?
Mark always manages to make the answers more interesting than the questions deserve.

That's how it should be done.
Well stated.
