I don't think I've ever seen so many spoilers in a trailer. They must be confident of some extreme depth beyond the surface level to spoil that much.

This is one of those movies that only certain people will enjoy. I just watched it and realized I'm lacking that artsiness appreciation for deep movies like this. I want to see happy endings and you won't get that here. If you're like me then I don't recommend. If you like analyzing a movie this is for you.

You are open-minded and that is the most important thing. Through a glass darkly etc you do not have to analyze just feel the dynamic and let the memory play on you. It is of its time so those of us old enough will have more memories and context but F is not subtle, you will get it.

Fassbinder's films are humorless and dreary and he was a drug addict, which is why he died at the age of 37.

      1. One reason that his films are „humorless“ could be that they are not comedies - but dramas! It would be like blaming a war movie for not being able to laugh. 2. What do his drug addiction and death have to do with the quality of the film?

This comment is all factual, and still somehow derivative and arbitrary. No meaning behind it. No worth.

There is a reason Rainer Werner Fassbinder is frequently cited for artistic importance and film achievement. If you are too numb to understand his films, at least have the sense to be quiet and know your place.
