- Fish Congee / Porridge ● Homemade Recipe
Ingredients:
1 piece Garoupa Fish Fillet (about 500g)
1 inch Ginger
2 cup rice (rinsed and cleaned)
Salt to taste
To serve: pepper, sesame oil, ginger (julienne) and scallion
Steps:
Skin and debone the fish fillet
Keep the skin and bone aside
Cut the fish meat into thin slices
Marinate the fish meat with ½ teaspoon salt and pepper
Add the fish bone and skin with 10 cups water into a medium pot
Add the ginger
Boil for about 30 minutes
Strain the soup and keep aside
In a big pot or rice cooker, add 2 cups rice (rinsed and cleaned)
With 1 cup water
Bring to boil
Add the fish soup and cook for about 30 minutes
Stir occasionally
Add more water or fish soup if too dry
Add the fish and cook for about 3 minutes
Serve with julienne ginger, scallion, pepper and sesame oil
