Theres a point on vorkath where you mention fremmy is the only area you can unlock animal magnatism and get the avas devices up to the avas accumulator. Just want to clarify fremmy is the only area its auto unlocked, those who take Asg and Mory will be able to complete the quest normaly and get the accumulator, however you can only get the Assembler through fremmy cause of vorkaths head.
Bro, I just have to say, your presentation style is absolutely amazing. You're easily one of the best TH-camrs out there! Not just for Leagues content, but overall! Keep up the great videos, upload consistently, and I can see you getting over a million subscribers in no time!
Thanks so much! idk if you all noticed but I was pretty exhausted making this so hopefully it doesn't show too much 😅 got some time off for the next days to start working on the next deep dive and catch up on sleep
glad that the plan is working 😄 I really wanted to do my best to be impartial and sell each region as best I could so thst each person can make their own tough decision without me just spoon feeding what I think is best
Duuuuuude, you just improved my leagues experience this year ten-fold! I was always going KZF, but was going to go with Mage relics again as I really enjoyed last year. Your info on leaf bladed and how helpful melee relic will be at Vorkath for PVM noobs changed my mind and I'm so hyped. Really grateful for all the league's content you've been putting out!
Thanks and i'm happy I could help (sorry I ruined your plans though!) The leaf bladed battleaxe is like a hidden gem tbh, one of the fastest easiest weapons you can get. Also with dragonfire/venom immunity, vorkath lowkey a training dummy LOL
thanks so much, that really does mean a lot. I'm really hoping the info comes in handy when the game mode finally drops, and I hope I can keep making some informative videos thru the season
Can't wait for the Mortayana dive!! Let's goooo! Keep up the great content. Hopefully when leagues starts we can see your game plan and strategy your deciding to go with
yeah the growth is actually insane, I stumbled into a gold mine tbh, hardly have time to watch worlds. nezzy helm is such a runescape classic it had to make the thumbnail!
"grace of marks" free comment and like to help your algorithm. keep up the videos, theyre very enjoyable. im looking forward to you playing leagues and updating on your progress
the leaf bladed battleaxe is actually such a good shout, essentially getting bis melee right out the gate! anything that's 5 tick is really gonna pop off huh
I'm really happy I heard about that before recording, like it's actually insane to get such a crazy strong weapon from kurasks that will carry you all the way thru raids
I'm somewhat undecided on the first two regions to pick, but Fremennik will be my final region for certain. I like all the bosses here, and the Lunar spellbook is my favourite. Plus it makes the POH actually useful.
thats exactly my thought process last time around. especially now with muspah at least there's some more bosses to do, it used to be pretty lame doing DKs
small note for poh servants in Leagues: It was actually faster in previous leagues if you had last recall to get planks from the bank yourself than to use a servant. Last recall will bring you to the exact tile your bank is on, and from there u grab planks, tele to poh in build mode, rinse and repeat. same goes for the sawmill! :)
last recall is so broken all around that I'm trying not to bring it up too much yet (except for dagannoths since it's so important there) until we at least see how it will be reimplemented into the game, whether as a passive or a relic tier
Crazy strong region choice! imo that's gonna by the absolute top dps build so I can't wait to see the numbers you'll be putting out when slamming bosses.
Its also important to note that Full obsidian + Berserkers is already better than a whip on lower defense targets in the main game. This means full obsidian+berserkers+obby mace (not obby maul) will be way better than whip and likely better than the LBA too. This isn't true ofc if you have access to the slayer helm or your content needs specific gear since full obby armor is reuqired for the bonus.
Yeah thats a good point and acts as a really strong baseline for melee too. I included the leaf bladed battle axe as I do think it's still probably easier and more convenient to get by doing kurasks then farming tzhaar dudes all day or acquiring an insane amount of tokkul to get the full set, as it loses a substantial amount of damage without the entire build set up
@@doubleshine yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be farming money/runes/ore/gems for tokkul long before I even start melee/slayer but I'm not sure yet.
I would love videos that highlight/point out BIS/niche BIS gear with certain region unlocks, or the reverse where you would point out what BIS/niche BIS gear you would be missing out not picking certain regions. For instance Z/D/A for range you have just about normal BIS apart from anguish, but you also only have grey chins ( considering ammo save works for chins now also )
I think Fremennik will be surprisingly fun for a KDF mage build. Saturated heart + magus ring should make mage with virtus robes better than past ancestral + augury. Should be fun to not overlap as much since I definitely want to go Zeah on my ranger anyways.
I'm pretty sure that KDF is straight up the highest magic damage in the game. You only lose 1% magic damage from not going zeah instead, but in exchange you get the saturated heart which is kinda massive
Oh man, I forgot about the Soulreaper axe! Fremennik is actually viable for melee if you pick Desert. But you also want Asgarnia and Morytania and between these 2 Morytania needs to go. Now I'm really on the fence about picking DAF over KAM. DAF means Leaf-bladed battle axe very early on into Fang and ultimately Soulreaper axe. I'll also get Faceguard, Berserker ring and Desert amulet 4 at the cost of losing blood fury, dharoks, scythe, slayer helm and piety but scythe and dharoks are nasty grinds (because no barrows teleport so last recall doesn't help). So I'll be spared from that. I think I'll wait and see what the other 2 relics are instead of trickster because trickster is only good in Morytania and Tirannwn. Losing the mighty Blood fury means healing will be a problem. I hope SGS + Lightbearer or Desert amulet 4 can fill that void. Losing the Slayer helm for Faceguard and Piety/Torture for a better early game weapon + berserker ring I don't mind as much. Oh and no more monkey laps, chompies or sepulchre. Life is looking up!
I'm super excited to see what, if any, relic exists for lifesteal or sustain which when combined with the melee relics innate tankiness is absolutely gonna make you a juggernaut. compared to something like the rapier or blade of saeldor, it's insane how strong the leaf bladed axe will be and so true to the leagues jank that this is the bis melee weapon til fang 😅
Happy I could feature it! I couldn't quite find the original mention of this trick and twitter posts had been lost to the sands of time, but thank you for showing everyone this, I can guarantee I was learning it from you 4 years ago when I went Frem 🔥
i like this idea for the sole reason that it's tasks are going to be pretty chill. I'm 100% going desert and asgarnia and im split between femmy and zeah as 3rd pick. But zeah has CoX grind, tithe farm, farming guild, molch island, wintertodt, skitizo and probably a few more grinds that are a super big time sink or super boring and relatively unrewarding for their time. Zeah does open up a lot of good training methods and the uniques from CoX are super good especially rigour, but I think the extra grind will exhaust me. And given that I'm picking desert as likely a 1st region, I am already kinda stacked on raid tasks and long minigame grind tasks. Compared to fremmy which doesn't have any boring mini-game like grinds or raids, just a few bosses which are pretty chill to farm. Also auto unlock avas is going to feel good with ranged, you only have 90% by default which is going to still burn through your ammo when everything attacks 2.5x faster and having to craft more bolts is just a time sink. But with avas its now like 98%. It's not a massive time save but it is nice.
You thought that Barrows Gloves were required for Ferocious because that was an initial dev quesiton/poll question/controversy. They ended up scrapping it because DS2 already had such high questing requirements it was pretty moot.
I remember leagues 2 I had Fremennik and I camped Kurasks for so long for lots of supplies, money, and slayer xp. The leaf bladed battleaxe is absolutely insane with it sped up. I will not be goin frem this time but I will do Tirannwn, and doin range build too.
Probably 3rd pick after Kandarin and Desert for my mage build. Trying not to overwhelm my route with PvM, the other options would be Asgarnia or Zeah and both are very time consuming and PvM heavy.
Note on the Fremenik for Melee setups. With the latest combat relic reveal, melee relic users should be immune to venom, dragonfire etc. Gonna make Vorkath a non-issue
Yeah I'm pretty sure tanning is incredibly cheap if you're just saving runes every cast. the bonus rune pouch also will help a lot to have runes available to spellbook swap whenever
When you say that Leaf bladed axe is better than Rapier, is there a resource anywhere you used to compare them? Can’t find anything in the discord for DPS calculations
The famous osrs dps calculator has been updated to include leagues 4 relics, you can find it in the leagues discord or I'll try to link it in the video bio asap. I'm also planning on a combat style video today that should have it linked if you get to see that today too!
It's a biiiit crazy not gonna lie. I'm trying not to even look at it too much because honestly it's kinda overwhelming and I just want to focus on making more content 😄
For anyone else thinking of going Ranged... What regions are you guys leaning? I think Asgarnia for GWD is a must for Arma and ACB and Nex. Second I'm really leaning towards Zeah for Tbow and lots of variety for task and slayer. This video might have sold me on Fremmenik for my third. Vorkath/Muspah/DKs would be great, and the ability to access high tier construction supplies is a big sell too. If not Fremmenik I was considering desert for ToA, but I think tons of people will be doing desert so that's kinda boring imo
the new combat relics really make asgarnia just the sickest region for asgarnia and you really can't go wrong once you've picked that. Masori armor is a huge bonus over armadyl armor, and Rigour and the tbow are both exceptional, but honestly if I was going ranged I might just pick Tiranwn just to mess around with the blowpipe 😅
@@doubleshine that's the thing though, I want to avoid desert because I think almost EVERYONE will do desert and ToA is the only raid I feel okay about on my ironman. Also, I would love to have a blowpipe to machine gun stuff but then I'd feel compelled to grind CG for bowfa which I'm already doing on my iron anyways. It's so tough to decide but I'm thinking the choice will become clearer with more relic reveals.
@@doubleshine hahaha, maybe it's just way early but I cackled at that. Man, the 2 tick leaf bladed axe is so tempting! But at this point I'm like totally split on combat style, the fact that 5 tick weps become 2 totally throws me earlier plans out.
@@doubleshine That seems like a solid early go to for magic! I was thinking of doing a rune crossbow from deranged archaeologist early on for ranged, 69 fletching should be pretty quick. That is at least if I go for ranged. Magic wise I like your idea!
also with 90% chance to save relics, 1 nature rune will be 10 high alchemies. so if I buy a whole bunch I'll actually profit from randomly alching just about anything and get some decent magic training in while doing other stuff
I'm wondering if the Shadow Ancient Sceptre is worth considering here. Maybe a reliable way to reduce defense levels of bosses without relying on melee? Would this even hold a candle to Tumeken's Shadow? You'd have to go Asgarnia, Desert, and Fremennik though. But that'd give you Virtus Robes and Upgraded rings.
the only issue there is passing up on kandarin, which is so important for Mage because of occult necklace and tormented bracelet. tumekens shadow has so much accuracy along with the bonus accuracy from the relic, I just don't know if any bosses are gonna need stats drained or if you'd rather just rip them apart with the shadow
Didn't even think about the construction aspect of fremennik. Still not sure if it's worth dropping piety for though cause I still want Morytania/Asgarnia for TOB.
KAM was the most popular route last time for good reason! Theater of blood gets so much fun when you can do insane damage and it's nice that the raid itself still requires a good deal of skill to complete so it's not entirely trivial
12:36 You can get stam pots from the rogues den? Im not seeing on the wiki how, could you shed some light? I'd love to finish my next pool on my ironman haha
Grace in the rogues den sells Amylase Crystal's which you use to make stamina potions (also requires 77 herblore). She's where you spend all those marks of grace from rooftop courses
yeah I went here last time and I just can't see myself going back even though I still think the zone is great, I just need a bit of diversity in my life 😅
Don't ever, ever cure the poison at Vorkath. Just cure the venom and stay poisoned. You'll tank your dps and supplies chugging potions every time you get venomed. Exception of course if you have anti-venoms
yeah tanking the damage is realistically going to be the easiest method if you have a convenient way to restore health and cure, I just wanted to list some of the available options. also the poison starts ticking damage for whatever the venom was, so it will still hit pretty hard and just something to keep in mind
it would depend a lot on your other regions but I think fremennik is gonna be one of the best melee regions in the game, especially if you have the desert unlocked to get the soul reaper axe.
@@doubleshine what Im thinking if I will choose Kandarin + Asgarnia you get Piety , plus Zeah dragon hunter lance , torture , God wars gear , Cerberus drops. But Fremenik as u said have kurasks , nezy, vorkaf , poh stuff , but for that I think I would have to move kandarin out, and that would mean no piety, no dscim, no zenites , dragon hunter lance . Please give me some of your thgouts about that 😁
so last leagues I went KAF and had a ton of fun, basically chewed thru every mob effortlessly. zeah doesn't really have that much for melee tbh except for dragon claws if you wanted to build around special attacks, but the God swords also work just fine. If you really want zeah, I would cut Kandarin for it. you lose some damage with no torture or Piety, but fremennik is just really good to have to be able to at least get some 5 tick weapon since you're not going desert.
@@doubleshine thanks u helped a lot 😁 but still Jagex puling some tricks of his sleve so all can change the day of launch. P. S. I know Zeah doesnt provide much much as melee area but it so much other good stuff😁
if youre going freme.... do not do what i did and go melee... i stabbed vorkath with a leaf bladed sword like 300 times before i got abby dagger after finishing 2 full bludgeons from sire.
Yeah it's by far the most scattered and lacking in notable methods, which is why it pairs nicely with a region like Zeah that already comes brimming with skilling methods you'll be doing
Theres a point on vorkath where you mention fremmy is the only area you can unlock animal magnatism and get the avas devices up to the avas accumulator.
Thanks! I misunderstood and thought you meant they could be given as a drop there haha. Really been loving the vids! :)@@doubleshine
@@pizzadlvboy1964 totally understandable, I should have clarified!
If you go the melee route, would you be able to tank vorkaths one shot mechanic? 🤔
no confirmation yet but I'll update that ASAP! it is dragonfire so hopefully it works and melee vorkath is literally afk except dodging acid puddles
Worth noting that Ferox also doesn’t restore spec.
Ngl fremmy has so many qols and its basically meta for tasks, but it just feels sooo underwhelming for pvm/fun content to me.
yeah I went here last time and I just can't see myself going back even though I still think the zone is great, I just need a bit of diversity in my life 😅
Comment for algorithm
...prifinas, desert and moritania or asgarmia are my region....of course play multiple char and unlock all
I'm in the same boat, I just feel I have to try out a 2nd build to experience more than one combat style!
does kandarin not have DS2 complete? so with just kandarin alone u cant even do demonics? buh?
Demonics come from MM2, which iirc is a Kandarin auto-unlock
like they said, demonic are from MM2!
I havent had a dr jekyll rando in years
I cant make my mind witch region better kandarin or fremenik for melee 🤔 maybe you can help me make my mind ?😁 Which in your opinion is better?
it would depend a lot on your other regions but I think fremennik is gonna be one of the best melee regions in the game, especially if you have the desert unlocked to get the soul reaper axe.
@@doubleshine im thinking zeah and asgarnia , im not a fan of desert and didnt played much since the last leagues 😁
Love these videos thank you for your hard work bro😊
I'm glad the series is getting so much traction! I never would have thought people would enjoy me rambling for half an hour about one zone haha
if youre going freme.... do not do what i did and go melee... i stabbed vorkath with a leaf bladed sword like 300 times before i got abby dagger after finishing 2 full bludgeons from sire.
Firsties🎉🎉🎉🎉 Let's Goooo
You beat me to it ❤
y'all tossing comments up before i let go of the publish button
8:32 grace of marks
in my defense it was getting really late LOL
Fremmy seems so empty on paper...
Yeah it's by far the most scattered and lacking in notable methods, which is why it pairs nicely with a region like Zeah that already comes brimming with skilling methods you'll be doing
cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers
