This movie was amazing since it connected to the mythology of the series (since it came in between seasons 4 & 5) unlike the second movie which was just bad.
Loved X-Files and remember seeing this at the cinema on release, and who didn't love Gillian Anderson on this show? lol
90s were a good time to watch TV.

Saw this opening night at the Ziegfeld, and yes we all cheered like hyper X files nerds when the telegram was shown re-opening the X files, and also everyone was screaming at the onset of the almost kiss.

A very underrated movie IMO. Even Siskel and Ebert gave this movie 2 thumbs up

While watching this movie on TV back in 2001, i was constantly reminded of "Alien".
Really enjoying your content gentlemen. The cavemen in the intro are clearly hunting the creature as they are following its tracks into the cave. Also, another fun fact about Anderson is that she was considered to play Melisandre, the red priestess of Asshai, on Game of Thrones.
I didn’t watch much of the series, but I quite enjoyed this film. It was good.
I really wish this was still cannon I loved the ideas in this movie and after the newest season just made t all secret an Illuminati plot it just ruined the series for me. I cant help but cringe at it now.

In fairness to Prometheus I think the film would have been fine had it never been tied to the Alien franchise. Ridley Scott likes his talk to your creator scenarios he did it in Prometheus and Blade Runner.
Also let's be honest X files goes downhill pretty quick after this as well, I feel like Chris Carter started the mystery box thing and could never decide where he wanted to end with it.
You guys should do A Nightmare on Elm Street maybe towards Halloween or Friday the 13th. Really enjoy the reviews!

Liked the movie but Terry O'Quinn threw me off, as he was also Peter Watts in MILLENNIUM. The 1st season of this series was on german TV when FIGHT THE FUTURE was released in german cinemas ...

peterversionone they joined in season eight, I like seasons six & seven for the standalone episodes, but the mythology is weak

I enjoyed this film but I think at this stage the series began to unravel as the central conspiracy arc became so convoluted it eventually became boring. I much preferred the stand alone corkers like Home, J'Souhite etc I too appreciate Scully's ankles and I like her better as a redhead than a blonde.
I loved the ones with the psycho of the week. Tooms , Donnie Phaster.
Agreed, the one off stories ,with supernatural beings,hypnotic yogis,strange phenomenon,were more captivating,all these conspiracies ,lost focus,and the one offs were easier to watch,you didn't have to follow every week ,to have a clue ,as to what was happening.

Well Ian given the fact that I was the age of 1 in 1993 I never had the chance.
The episode that followed and tied into this movie was terrible.

I remember back then a lot of riped dvd were available,all the plot were on magazine,I was a big fan during the early saisons,but after the 5,7 and more (originally the serie should be ending with 5 seasons..after the 7th..and now 9..10..11..maybe more and always not real complête story,sadly a lot of real conspiracies can be show on the serie,like the fake babies death in koweit a false testimony in Onu by a false nurse also,the irak,syria,lybia..statfor speech...pnac..all geopolitic stuff,official with kissinger,brzezinski.wikileaks..and somes stranges stuff like bohemian groove,cooking spirit,honestly really wtf and explicitly symbolic about pedo and satanism luciferian way 'nothing is real,everything is permise'.
Now,only Elementary and Black mirror are ok to deal with these kind of stuff,like the Iran false flag,soros,wikileaks and others critics.
X files still have somes great episodes,somes really funny,deep or dark.
The next year,the official laserdisc Starwars episode 1 sold for 200 usd or more to happy fews.

I barely remember this movie. I thought it was so boring so I just stopped watching after 1 hour
I saw this in the theater when it came out. I never really watched the show but it promised to explain things. It still didn't help me enjoy the show.
So, Ripley Scott given the Xenomorph more diversity made it bad.
That's like bitching Iron Man or Spider-Man change suit's to get more power's.
