Fair play Kripp! I was so excited to buy into the Bazaar's early access because I'd like to follow your content about the game. It's been years since I have watched you daily since I was not that into BG. Looking forward to what's next!

My guess for how each hero can only be obtained by one player would be that when you join the lobby, you're internally already assigned eight heroes. I would be surprised if WHEN you refresh affects your possible outcomes.
Saw some Bazaar content and thought, “Man, this looks cool, but I don’t want to pay yet. Anything similar?” That led me to Battlegrounds. After playing for about an hour or so, I said, “Nah, this isn’t it,” and bought into The Bazaar. Great choice on my end!
Finally a damage cap update, I always thought 15 was to much for a "cap" honestly I don't know why monsters should count to damage, just let the hero be the tier be the damage if you win. I still hate that tokens count as damage too. Been waiting for Bazaar to be free to play because I wanna enjoy a long fight card game and not lose in 4 turns to tokens. Cant wait to play the bazaar
I guarantee that Rerolled heroes are already coded and locked. You wont need to reroll faster as your 4 hidden options were decided at game generation. So before you even start to reroll, the games engine has already decided if you have Sire (or whoever) or not.
You’re probably right, I counted the bgs heroes and stopped counting at 64 because realistically even if every player rerolled 4x they would only see 8 total heroes.
Some heroes are only available with specific minion types, some are banned with specific minion types and some get disabled due to bugs. As such, they need to make sure that every single possible tribe combination has at least 64 eligable heroes, ban tribe combinations that don't get there, or remove/relax the duplicate hero rules in order to use that system.
@@alexstewart9592 There are close to 100 heroes with about 13-14 tribe specific heroes. This game can easily pre allocate 8 heroes to each player with no issue
Its been years, and I it's finally time to call it, the sun has set on the hearthstone empire. Arena, 2019. Duels, 2021. Mercenaries and Constructed, 2022. Battleground, 2024.
Even if your ideal hero is an option right away, there's still a heavy incentive to reroll any bad hero options to put them back in the pool and try to fish more good heroes out of the pool to keep other people from getting them. So to min-max the most, you should pretty much always reroll everything unless you happen to get all of the best options.
The system is fair, you have 0 chance to get Sire Denathrius if someone else got it, but you also have highher chance to get him when he is in the pool
Hearthstone is such a cash-grab I'm sick of seeing it, and while I love The Bazaar its Closed-Beta-State could use some love, as right now it gets pretty boring if you're half-decent.
i play on my phone, and it crashes every two battles or every battle late game. I also can't go into the shop or deck builder without the app crashing. What's annoying is if the app crashes as 21 or 20 seconds remaining of the turn, I will fail to reconnect and I take a loss. This has only happened with the current patch.
@djwidmayer From a ranked perspective this makes the game more pay to win. Don't get it twisted. This wasn't added for "players getting to play the heroes they want for fun". This is "give us money and you will statistically win more"
Depending on how it's programmed, that built in fomo could possibly be an illusion. If the server preassigns heroes then it just feels worse to play with no functional difference
It is mentioned your reroll aren’t affected by other player, so you 100% just get 8 heroes at the beginning and rerolling would give you one of the others you didn’t start with, good luck making that legal in europe blizzard
The point about fomo on rerolls isn't correct. Since you have a finite amount of rerolls per game (4), if everyone is rolling for the same hero, you have an equal chance no matter when you roll. For a simple example that works the same, imagine 4 people drawing from a bag of 4 rocks with one winning rock. All players have a 1/4 chance of the winning rock no matter the draw order - the first has 1/4 obviously, then the second will draw 3/4 times with a 1/3 chance = 3/12 = 1/4, third person will draw 1/2 the time but will have a 1/2 shot = 1/4, and the forth will win every time they draw, but will only draw 1 in 4 times
I think what makes this such a slap in the face is we have been asking for this since battle grounds launched but we deserved this as a FREE option well rip hearthstone 10 years gone
the moment the bazaar becomes open beta, im ditching BGs for good. No point in playing anyway, the amount i have to quit and reload is just making my MMR stagnate. Plus no paying gold for pass. This is the last nail in the coffin really which is such a shame..
Thanks for the headsup! I am out of battlegrounds now. It ist in a disgusting state and ain't getting fun anymore... So thats the Last needle in the coffin for Hearthstone for me... Keep Bazaar Up and running and have a good time!
There are so many basic ideas they could have used to make these reroll tokens great. Reward players who don't leave games, let players use the gold to buy them even if there is a cap on how many you can buy with in game gold, queuing with random duos could reward some. Use these things to keep the game healthy and active but no just cash grabs to the max.
Minor correction on the 'incentive to reroll faster': they stated in the patch notes that this won't be a possibility and that it doesn't matter when you choose to reroll them because they want to avoid these reroll races. Given there's 94 heroes I assume what each hero will reroll into will be allocated when loading in, so each player will have 8 heroes allocated to them (4 shown and the 4 hidden rerolls, so 64 heroes will be allocated on loading). That's my reading of it anyway, but it still doesn't change the fact this is grossly p2w lol
Who cares? I dont plan on buying any tokens and i dont really care if people want to waste their money. I just enjoy trying to get first with what im offered.
11:30 the update sucks for competetive players, but the 4 heroes you potentiale reroll into has been determined before rolling, so it wouldnt make a difference rolling the heroes fast
Idk whats worse. The fact that this paid reroll system is going to be a thing or the fact that we live in a time where game devs can get away with implementing "features" like this because they know people will just pay for any advantage they can get.
Hey Kripp long time watcher. I fully support you switching the youtube content to other games! I would love to see you do series of various card games like Slay the Spire, Balatro etc
11:40 I think kripp is wrong here. I think the champions are already prechosen behind the reroll section and not pulling from a pool of "open" characters left, which btw, is even worse
There should be an mmr penalty for rerolling. -25 points, or whatever is equivalent to a 5th place finish. They can’t let the leaderboards be determined by who is playing $1 a game to reroll their heroes to maximize their advantage.
I stopped playing when they made it PTW with needing to buy the pass to get all 4 of the hero options/ get any of the new heroes. This made me feel even better about my decision even though it was a fun game.
This was my last blizzard game that i actively play im deleting it on the third when this shitshow drops and the entire battlenet i have no use for it anymore im done with the whole company
My very first initial reaction to rerolling heroes in battlegrounds was good because then that may help solve the issue of people leaving in hero select do to getting some lame hero. It sucks when most matches you have a few people leave to crap selection. But you have to pay for it, no thank you.
Yes Blizzard, now make a ton of money, introduce mulligan tokens for the base game, have other card games see how well it worked out and copy the system. Make tabletop the only option again.
When you reroll a hero, does the hero go back in the pool? Can others then reroll into the heroes you ejected? Can you get them back if you keep rolling? 😂 I'm so happy that I don't care.
While I completely understand that the battlepass sales are probably nowhere near the amount of revenue they USED to get from regular HS expansions; This is one of the dumbest ways to attempt to earn more money. If nobody bought the battlepass and regular HS is dead; Battlegrounds would die too. With the assholes at the top, I understand that the HS devs are forced to implement more ways of earning revenue. I wish there was other ways, but I can't really think of anything that people would be happy with.
I wish instead of adding p2w things, they would just add skins for cards, (Like 2.99 and all your bran bronzebeards have a different card art or are signature / diamond cards)
I only play BG because its on mobile. If bazar is free to play and Mobile i will leave BGs Sad to see how Blizzard keeps killing their reputation. I started Hearthstone by watching your streams. I will leave it with you.
He lost many subs because he kept insisting on publishing “new” videos with old patch content for WEEKS. Like “I’m showingcasing with this 4 weeks old game why the change to XX was warranted” … and the other videos he just kept pushing games from old patches because? He just did it and people called him out on this many times but the YT just continued that. THATS when he lost most of the subs he lost
If Hearthstone is becoming pay to win then I'm leaving it, been playing it casually since it came out, it's so sad that greed always spoils a good thing.
1. To be fair, when I heard the Pricing is was surprised... would have thought they would take like 1$ PER ONE Reroll or even more... 1$ per 4 Rerolls seems kinda... let's say... not as bad as I thought ^^ 2. Lets take our calculator: 8 Players... all with Battle Pass... means there are 32 Heroes blocked right from Beginning of the Match. Now the Question is, if those Rerolls are kinda "reserved" from beginning or if they really are RNG the Moment you press it and it checks which heroes are offered to the other 7 Players right this moment. If it is "reserved" there are 64 Heroes taken out of a Pool of 108 Heroes... means 60% of all heroes are taken by the system... and even if it would be the RNG-Version... 32 Heroes are also taken away from you... And you have no clue which those are if rerolling... you only know from 4 (at max)... so you can put in REAL MONEY to Roll a 108 sided Dice, from which you only know 4 Sides, without even knowing if there are numbers on it than you want. 3. I like the Idea of getting a Chance to reroll... I play HS completely free (spend way to much Money back than when i did play HS and not BG xD)... Even those 2 options more would be great, but i guess, Battle Pass needed to be sold, so i understand... but even with those 4 options if seen videos of people getting 4 Heroes that were absolut GARBAGE with those Minion-Types in this round. And I was sometimes also struggeling with my 2 options. So Rerolling at least once per Hero would be great... but NOT for REAL MONEY! I don't even want it for free, but at least let us do it for Gold and bring back the 4 Hero-Option for Gold! As pure BG-Player i don't even know what to do with the Gold i get, since you can't do ANYTHING with it besides getting Card-Packs for HS or maybe things for the the Mercenary-Mode i guess... but NOTHING for BG... 4. Like you said... Imagine you Pay like 1$ for 4 Rerolls and STILL get garbage Heroes and Game-Server breaks down for no reason... so you not only just wasted 1$ for 4 Rerolls to maybe even worse Heroes, you also didn't have a Game to play since the Game crashed on Server-side... what now? Auto Refund of those tokes? I DOUBT IT! If your lucky you can get in contact with support to get it back and since it's "only" 1$ most people i guess won't even bother to go through all this hassel to get those tokens back since it's not like you can Click ingame on "Start Refund Process for Tokens", fill in how many you used and get them back after 20-30 Mins after someone checked Data if you are right... Hope there are enough people Sh*tstorming Blizz for this so they will change it at least to "Gold for Reroll" or at least "Free Rerolls if payed for Battle Pass"
Its 1$ for 4 reroll, but its consummable. If you have the battle pass, this is 0.75$ per game. Its magnetude more expensive than the battle pass. People who don't want a disadventage are gonna have to spend 100s or 1000s every months. Its not as bad as it could have been, but its bad.
It's nice that they improve the DMG-cap but the fact that you can pay for your reroll is such a slippery slope. Even if it's unlikely I hope it stops there.
Devils advocate, what if they put this in to try to get less abandoned games? Almost every game I get into has 1 to 2 people leaving at Hero selection.

Your words are valid. The trinket patch pushed me away from Bags for the same reason. Your voice gives life to the opinions of many!
In case anybody was wondering if Kripp was gonna do more BGs content lol
Raynad is a genius.... he literally could not have timed the beta release of TheBazaar at any better of a time.
Can tell BGs has fallen off as im playing Standard for the first time in about 4 years
I haven’t gotten that desperate yet 😂
I actually, non-sarcastically played arena lately.
Arena is different. It hasn't changed since beginning and it's pretty solid as an idea. Constructed died before battlegrounds existed.
My guess for how each hero can only be obtained by one player would be that when you join the lobby, you're internally already assigned eight heroes. I would be surprised if WHEN you refresh affects your possible outcomes.
06:29 Krip, three hero selections was like 4 or 5 seasons ago lol. Free to play players only get TWO hero options. :(
Lol I just reinstalled HS and was playing quite a bit of battlegrounds, guess it's time for another break
i cant sleep to patch notes kripp , i need bg gameplay
same but pooping for me
That's my main problem right now
Bg sucks bruh watch bazaar
Saw some Bazaar content and thought, “Man, this looks cool, but I don’t want to pay yet. Anything similar?”
That led me to Battlegrounds.
Next update: You can now pay $10 for an extra gold in any turn.
Battleground, 2024.
people are being way too forgiving to this announcement. this absolutely destroys the game.
Hearthstone is such a cash-grab I'm sick of seeing it, and while I love The Bazaar its Closed-Beta-State could use some love, as right now it gets pretty boring if you're half-decent.
damn it's finally time to return to the arenian salt mines! I knew this battlegrounds thing was just a phase Kripp!
i play on my phone, and it crashes every two battles or every battle late game. I also can't go into the shop or deck builder without the app crashing. What's annoying is if the app crashes as 21 or 20 seconds remaining of the turn, I will fail to reconnect and I take a loss. This has only happened with the current patch.
Why am I not surprised. Absolutely done with the game.
The fact that you even have the option to reroll at all means that the heroes aren’t balanced.
No, it means everyone has different preferences for what they like to play.
@djwidmayer From a ranked perspective this makes the game more pay to win. Don't get it twisted. This wasn't added for "players getting to play the heroes they want for fun". This is "give us money and you will statistically win more"
Blizzard is trying so hard to loose all players
I remember them stating Microsoft, they would buy blizzard, then news disappeared, and two years later it was quietly bought out.
damn, legendary BG vod + Cybrix also got mentioned PagMan
RIP Hearthstone, Blizzards greed knows no Bounds ... what will we get at other games Uber Rerols for money in D4? .... The Company should be closed.
I'm actually super excited for the new battlegrounds patch. Because that means we get way more the Bazaar videos.
as a f2p player. seeing 4 heroes to choose from is crazy to me. thats kinda like 2 extra rerolls
Will you play BG even as PoE2 will be there 😂🎉
I have almost 50k gold. I don't play traditional Hearthstone and can't use any of that gold on battlegrounds. To me, that really sucks!!
The death of Battle Grounds Part 1 - The Movie.
Idk whats worse. The fact that this paid reroll system is going to be a thing or the fact that we live in a time where game devs can get away with implementing "features" like this because they know people will just pay for any advantage they can get.
Did you invest in Bazar?
Expected from blizzard, money sucking company but worst. BG was the only game that i play from blizzard. Now its time to end.
😂 I'm so happy that I don't care.
it would also benefit them monetarily to put the current top winning heros as only rerolls ,or signifigantly rarer then others
While I completely understand that the battlepass sales are probably nowhere near the amount of revenue they USED to get from regular HS expansions;
This is one of the dumbest ways to attempt to earn more money.
If nobody bought the battlepass and regular HS is dead; Battlegrounds would die too.
With the assholes at the top, I understand that the HS devs are forced to implement more ways of earning revenue. I wish there was other ways, but I can't really think of anything that people would be happy with.
Eww BG content. Back to the Bazaar please
Our prophet reynoodle requests more Bazaar content
Ew bazaar cringe
True that 👍
Bazaar is amazing
He needs bg income
I wish instead of adding p2w things, they would just add skins for cards, (Like 2.99 and all your bran bronzebeards have a different card art or are signature / diamond cards)
LOL... and I was thinking of getting back into HS after 5 years... I will dodge it now. Thanks for the heads up :)
I only play BG because its on mobile. If bazar is free to play and Mobile i will leave BGs
Sad to see how Blizzard keeps killing their reputation.
I started Hearthstone by watching your streams. I will leave it with you.
I really thought they were in a bit of a rut and so they'd bring out something big like a new minion type but this sucks
It makes me sad that Kripp doesn’t like trinkets as I don’t think they’re going away yet so he probably won’t play BGs. Personally I love trinkets.
Hate the fact Krip was so close to a million but fell off slowly, still the OG arena king tho
Still rewatching his older videos from 2015-2018, such a good HS era
He lost many subs because he kept insisting on publishing “new” videos with old patch content for WEEKS. Like “I’m showingcasing with this 4 weeks old game why the change to XX was warranted” … and the other videos he just kept pushing games from old patches because? He just did it and people called him out on this many times but the YT just continued that. THATS when he lost most of the subs he lost
If Hearthstone is becoming pay to win then I'm leaving it, been playing it casually since it came out, it's so sad that greed always spoils a good thing.
FINALLY A HEARTHSTONE VIDEO
Probably the last one too.
Bazar >> Battlegrounds
Let's continue to enjoy happy Bazar Kripp
1. To be fair, when I heard the Pricing is was surprised... would have thought they would take like 1$ PER ONE Reroll or even more... 1$ per 4 Rerolls seems kinda... let's say... not as bad as I thought ^^
It's been more than a year since MSFT acquired ATVI. Why are people pretending this is a recent development?
Devils advocate, what if they put this in to try to get less abandoned games? Almost every game I get into has 1 to 2 people leaving at Hero selection.
I don't really mind the pay part of the rerolls, but that being the only new mechanic is kind of lame.
Escape - concede - next game. There. Free reroll for all heroes.
It seems you need to purchase the Pass+ to get the first one free, which means you'd STILL have to pay to do that. (See: 7:28 under "Season Pass+" is "Reroll Perk (1 per game)")
Given how well the bazaar seems to be doing this seems like the nail in the coffin for HS BG
you sound very pissed off. I get you
