If not done properly. Constant belting can lead to vocal chord damage. It doesn't even matter if you are a soprano or mezzo. Many vocal coaches (especially those who trained in classical music) are against belting. Not just because of risks involved for the vocal health. They don't find the sound appealing. However there still many coaches who understand that the style of music is changing for Broadway. So singers must work on it since many scores, it will be required.
Your welcome. :) It's actually starting to become very common for sopranos in America to be trained in both. The music style is changing as are the demands. Sierra & fellow Disney star Ashley Brown wanted to become experts in both the soprano head voice for the classic roles and the new edgier roles that require enourmous amounts of belting. That way more oppertunities are available.
That's actually easy to answer. She started training in the art of belting when she was in High School. She stil works with her vocal coach on maintaining a healthy soprano head voice and intense belt. :)
I love Sierra! So talented and passionate. But I can't help but notice her acting seems more simlar to Betsy Morgan's intepretation. That's the actress currently playing Fantine in the American National Tour
i would totally want to see her as Glinda in Wicked :)
Now THIS is how you sing I Dreamed a Dream! Sierra is brilliant in this role, and she does this song so beautifully.
She's right, Christine does dream that Love Never Dies. Was I the only one that found that funny?
She was amazing as Christine in Phantom. This also very good. Ruthie Hanshaw has the title for this song and will always.
love her!!!

Maybe the opportunity hasn't come up? All depends on her availability and when an actress is leaving the role. She would be amazing though!

Can you please explain to me what effect trying to belt has on your head voice? My voice teacher is really reluctant to work on belting with me.
I'm not that knowledgeable in what trading audio actually means, so for now I'll just upload songs that are requested :) .
Oh my fricking god!!! best version ever!
This was her last show.
She was a little sharp on some notes.
She is the best her voice makes me cry
That woman is divine.
I got chills listening to this!
Oh my god.
