Stripers Blitzing and Togs at NJ Jetty - Nov 16th 2023 - Tautog / Blackfish Fishing From Shore

- Went out for some tautog and was able to hook up to what looked like a slot sized striper. Unfortunately, the striper got pulled beneath the rocks, and by the time I got hold of the leader, it was too late. It sucks knowing this striper is unlikely to survive with a massive lure attached to it's lip. A big mistake, but one I aim to learn from for the next time I'm in a similar situation.
Few shout outs:
- To the fellow angler that helped me with my rod while I was bringing in the striper
- To Tackle World for helping me pick a new blackfish rod
- To Tony's Bait and Tackle in Manahawkin for the green crabs
Fishing at the jetty can be dangerous. Please learn about the equipment needed and all of the dangers involved before making a trip to any jetty.
Thank you for watching!

@jamespha9896 Thank you!!
We were there. Thousands of people for 5 bag limit of tog.
Yeah that was the most people I've ever seen on a jetty.
Do you need to leaning fishing
Yes my friend, I need to learn fishing
Dude that's awesome to see them blitzing! You keep killin' it with the tog too, great vid.
It's the first time I've seen them blitzing this year. Thanks man!
How long have you been fishing today? is there much keeper now?
The bigger fish will probably start heading to deeper water soon.
Great video bud. Shame that first one broke off
Thank you! I wish I had just tried pulling the fish in myself. Handing over the rod created too much slack in the line :(
This day was AMAZING! great job!!!
Really appreciate it, thank you!
Awesome! What is your bait?
Thank you! I’m using green crabs in this video.
