A real shame that Ford thinks this wouldn't sell well in the UK... we'll really be lacking a decent estate version too in this segment now. Easily this could sell against a 3 series with that interior and especially if a solid plug in hybrid is offered. That interior is so much better than the MK5.

No one would buy them other than rental agencies, there isn't enough profit for certify this car for US sales. They can barely keep up with the demand of the vehicles they got now, they certainly aren't going to spare production and flooring for a sedan not enough people will buy.
I'm on my second Fusion, the first one was an Ecoboost 1.5 and my current one is a hybrid. I live in L.A, where imports are everywhere, the Fusion and the Malibu are seen everywhere, probably the best cars Ford and GM have made. It's a damn shame they're both discontinued. The car in this video should be made here for our market. I won't be buying an SUV. I'll take my money over to Cadillac.
do yourself a bug favour add a ovs to the engine,, this will keep/ slow the carbon build up on the valves not really a issue on the 2.0 engines... but on the 1.5 and 1.6 it is,,, the intake manifold can collect a lot of oil... dont belive me>> remove the intake manifold..its about a 15 min job... you will be shocked on how much oil is in there
Ford should bring this to the US! My Fusions both have over 300k on them and I'm ready for a change. I don't like suvs and a truck don't fit my needs, I want a CAR that is not a Mustang.

Can someone please tell me how the driver can reach all the way over to the glove compartment to operate certain functions of the touch screen unit without being distracted? Beautiful car but why are touch screens becoming 2 feet wide?
the touch screen above glove compartment is strictly for passenger entertainment (such as watching movies etc.) it doesnt have any essential use for driver

The MKZ is of course the Luxury version of the fusion like lexus, acura, infinity. Except for rear wheel drive Ford cars, mostly "PANTHERS" I never like Ford cars I think they are JUNK. However I think the Fusion/MKZ is a good car and scores highly in my reliability tests!
It's very beautiful and also very sad that Ford, like other manufacturers, bring state of the art sedans to the Asian market but not their own. I would buy this in a heartbeat. It's our own fault in a way, as we in America are obsessed with damn SUVs.

The reason many Asian and German marques still offer sedans is because they offer them worldwide so they can bring what they want here with minimal cost, or manufacture them here.
Most the the world is obsessed with SUVs, more accurately the car based crossover, which in reality is a tall riding station wagon. Lots of people complain and say they will buy these if available, but didn't do it in the past to justify their existence in the North American market.
There was only one transmission (DPS6 dual-clutch) that was a problem, and that was consigned to the junk heap in 2015, and it was never installed on the Mondeo/Fusion.
this wide display is SO FAST! and responsive, even in Mercedes S class OS is lagging as f*** but in this Mondeo everythig is happening very fast, this is VERY impresive!!!
Nice smart exterior. I find the interior (especially the ridiculously large screen) a bit too "in your face". I am guessing these aren't coming to the UK as everyone has SUVs now.
We get to be in awe over lots of vehicles that the industry has no intention of giving Americans the opportunity to purchase here. Why is that? It is a beaut though.
