Iirc Vinny was one of the first if not THE first streamer/tuber I ever heard talk about or play Pizza Tower (the one that brought it to my attention as well), so chat acting like he's unaware of it is funny but also REALLY annoying.
Honestly, I'd rather recommend Rainbow Billy to him than Pizza Tower. If you haven't seen that game, it's a cute looking game that's also really weird. Let's put it this way. The first NPC you can talk to is the trash.

@@TomLostWave They've been asking frequently in the chat ever since he did the first stream of it. You have to actually catch it live to see the sheer volume of requests he gets on that game. He doesn't respond to very many of them directly because the chat goes so fast.

Wario just has a habit of shoving his way to the top of the priority cue. Wario Land 4 lost to Oracle of Seasons in a poll, was played first anyways. Pizza Tower finally comes out, Wario is there.

I like Waluigi's name in English because I always thought it was just him trying to copy Wario without understanding the pun in Wario's name
It’s funny because the “warui” pun actually works better for Waluigi’s name.

Luigi's name is also a pun: ruiji is Japanese for "similar"
So he really is green Mario.
Thus, Waluigi is "bad" and "similar."
Honestly they could have named him ruigi. Not only does r look like an upside down L but ruiji in japanese means similar. As in he is similar to wario and luigi. That way both wario and ruigi would be japanese puns and involve an upside down letter. Still think waluigi is a great name tho
@@foursidekm Unfortunately, Luigi and ruiji are pronounced exactly the same in Japanese, so it would be confusing for Japanese speakers to have two characters whose names' are pronounced the same. but I get what you're saying.

I just realized how much sound design from Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Woolly World came from this game. Especially the saving noises, Level select and the noise pipes make.
Iirc it came from the same devs, “Good Feel” who did both of those games
The physics feel very similar as well, at least to Epic Yarn. Definitely feels like the same engine
Anime, Captain Syrupsons, Wariumpy, all coming together _hard_ to make a good Wario game that Vinny enjoys.

The best part of this is getting to hear Vinny's crusty Wario voice again. Which is good, because this game also has some crusty Wario voice clips.

1:14:30 I remember so many years ago Vinny pulling up that funny poopoo remix on stream and laughing. When he was asking about Yoshi’s New Island music it started coming back to me then SOMEONE LINKED IT! Such a great blast from the past. I was howling.
I remember when I played this back in the Wii Days. I used it for stress relief, because nothing makes you feel better like picking up an enemy and shaking the absolute shit out of them.
Don't forget the money bags, loved seeing the coins fly from it
I rented it (back when that was still a thing people did) but never got to finish it, and that always made me sad because it was awesome.
Recently rigged up Dolphin to play it without motion controls though. And yeah, it's still awesome.

@@spoopa7733 That came out before this. And even still if that's the weakest entry in the series (which it undoubtedly is) that's still an insane pedigree.
Honestly this game had gorgeous animation and art direction, such a shame Nintendo abandoned the Land series completely after this one.
At least we have Anton and Peppino making Wariolikes a genre.
Also the gif of wario taking "Shake it" a bit too seriously makes me laugh.
This game was expensive from what I heard just cause the artstyle and so when it didn't make that money back it was considered a failure. A shame cause that big loss is probably why the series is dormant to this day.

It still was sort of a miracle this game happened at all... a console Wario with an animation cell hand-drawn style. I'm just happy it exists.

Many, many years ago, Vinny said he'd play this game "in about six months" at the end of his Wario Land 4 playthrough. I really like this game so I'm glad he's finally, finally making good on his promise.
It's funny how even back in 2019, when he started Wario Land 4, chat was like "have you heard about Pizza Tower"

As much as I adore the WarioWare series, to be honest, I definitely miss the Wario Land series, and I would be so happy if a new game ever comes to the Switch, especially if its in the art style of this game.
Considering that the entire artstyle was hand drawn and the game sold so poorly, i feel like it's going to be difficult to have a new one....

I honestly didn't expect to see so much of the first Wario Land make a comeback. Captain Syrup, the pirate gang, and a lot of the little enemies are all coming back from the first game, and while this might not be Peppino Spaghetti, I'm pretty jived to see all this.
I've replayed this game last year and 100% completed it for the first time.
Some of the missions are no joke but this game is such a gem and so beautiful that it was all worth it.

Keep in mind, that there's almost a walu-peachy but Daisy already fills that role as you can argue that a lower-case D is an upside-down lower case P, starting out in a similar manner as Wario and Waluigi.

@@LostSoulSilver Bias. Every game has introduced unique features, level setpieces, and layouts just as much as any other game. They've also featured many different styles of play. At most, it's visually similar because of the same models being used, but the experience between all of them is very different.
@@LostSoulSilver I'd argue and say that Odyssey was pretty dang creative. Especially with Mario being able to change into a ton of different outfits.

I got super excited when I saw this in my recommended. This is one of my favorite wii games of all time! The hand-drawn art, beautiful cutscenes, and excellent music... This game is a massively underrated masterpiece.
So glad Vinny revisited the origins of the Vinekazoo. I still treasure mine.

Check out the Donkey Kong 64 randomizer; there's a setting that lets you play the base game with all the quality of life features they added (including on-the-fly Kong switching) but without actually randomizing anything. I've seen several speedrunners playing it and it seems stable enough.
It’s been 15 years since Wario Land Shake it, or (“The Shake Dimension in other regions”) released, it came out the same year as Brawl, MGS4, Sonic Unleashed and many others. This game still holds up really well, the animation is so smooth and like eye candy! It’s also the last appearance of Captain Syrup sadly, I wish she could be as well known as Peach, Daisy, Rosalina and even Pauline, for one appearing in more spin-offs as a start. I want this game to gain new fans with re-release as well.

I finally finished this game last month and was disappointed to find out Vinny hadn't ever streamed it. Great timing!
I'm not gonna lie, i'm kinda sad that Vinny wasn't a fan of the Soundtrack.....And this is the one Wario game that i go back and listen to the music the most, just because of how good and overlooked it is. I never thought that it needed to sound more "Wario like", since the characther can be so many things and can have so many layers on what he could be, no matter if it's cool or "fart funny haha" kind of guy. Also, Tomoya Tomita is such an underrated composer that i feel like people don't give him the credit he deserves.....
Honestly I think the music here really fits wario, and it's really catchy!

The music in this game legendary imo. I love love love listening to the music that plays in the very first stage of the game, along with some favorites in other levels.

Always something weird with Europe, like them appending "Bros." to all the Mario and Luigi games after Bowser's Inside Story for some reason (Dream Team BROS., Paper Jam BROS.)
One hit wonders Metro City released "Shake It" a year before this came out, maybe Nintendo of Europe renamed it in protest of how bad that song was.

holy smokes this brought back a wave of nostalgia. when i was a kid, i really wanted this game and super paper mario, so my dad and i walked like 7 miles to a gamestop, bought them, walked home, then my dad has to do community service for leaving a younger relative home alone for an extended period of time. i don't remember if i finished the game, but i do remember the first few levels.

this Game has another name in Europe. it's called Wario Land: The Shake Dimension. this game was first released in Japan on July 24, 2008.
Vinny said the music in this game wasn't very memorable (yet).
And I'd kinda have to agree. The game has an absolutely stunning soundtrack, but it's not very in your face or Wario-y.
There are songs that I absolutely adore though. I just wish the game as a whole felt more Wario-y.
The best song in the game imo is the main menu theme (Wario's Garage), which was actually composed by one of the Wario World composers, Minako Himano. She also composed the classic Ruins theme (the only Wario Land song that Smash Bros recognizes).
She sent the Main Menu theme, Stonecarving Temple, and Greenhorn Ruins (from Wario World) Tomoya Tomita. He took those 3 songs and arranged them for the game, and composed everything else from scratch. Greenhorn Ruins' theme became Glittertown.
Those 3 themes are indeed some of the most Wario-y in the game. I wonder if I'd like Stonecarving Temple's theme better if it was arranged differently. I think I'm just not a fan of the instruments. But I think it could be killer if the vibe was a bit different.
There's a few memorable tracks. The ones you listed but I also really like "Airytale Castle" and "Wreck Train". Although I think I just like train levels in Wario games so I'm probably biased.

Airytale Castle is fantastic but probably too atmospheric for the average listener to really pay attention and enjoy. Mt. Lava Lava and Sneak Peak have the Wario World motif remixed into them, with Sneak Peak being a more blatant Pecan Sands remix.

Ahh I loved this game as a kid! I haven’t 100% it but it’s pretty challenging going for 100%. Like some comments have said it’s a bit short, but the missions add replayability
Also funnily enough I was thinking about this game earlier, specifically the desert music
And don’t beat yourself up for struggling in Disturbing Tomb. It’s a 6/7 star level so it’s a pretty big difficulty jump
Very nostalgic. Remember playing this when it first came out and loved it. Ost rocks, gameplay is fun, and has a cartoony-anime style.
