I must say..I don’t net deck or copy decks as I absolutely love the brewing process and making each deck unique to me…..BUT this might be the 1st time I’ve watched mtg edh content and might use the 1:1 deck as a starting point! You brewed this one to perfection my friend. Awesome job and great content!
Absolutely! There have been several cards that have been reprinted recently, in addition to some new ones, that would make great additions if you're willing to spend a little bit of money. First, let's start with the most obvious upgrades: 1.) Bitterblossom - This shouldn't need much explanation, but as it was reprinted as an "enchanting tale" in Eldraine recently, it's much more reasonably priced at around $15. I would probably cut Curse of Disturbance. Overall, the two cards accomplish roughly the same thing, but Bitterblossom is infinitely more consistent and doesn't require other creatures to come online. 2.) Phyrexian Arena - Reprinted in ONE and down to a dollar or two, this is just a staple card draw spell and slots in easily over something like Read the Bones or Azra Oddsmaker, which are the same mana value, but mediocre at best. 3.) Skullclamp - Same idea as the last card on the list, but to the extreme. If you're going to spend money, this is a stellar place to invest. This card is cracked in half. I couldn't blame you for cutting Syphon Mind (or whichever you left in after the last swap between Read and Oddsmaker), as it's a bit expensive and somewhat clunky, to make space. 4.) Lord Skitter, Sewer King - This is just another in the line of lackeys that spit something out at the start of combat, but Skitter is nice because it doesn't force you to suicide its subordinates. Nether Traitor allows for cool turns and is resilient against wraths, but the mana investment is intense, and this is just a more consistent contributor to the same concept. 5.) Pitiless Plunderer - More or less, this is just a direct upgrade to Mahadi, which is technically better as follow up for a sweeper, but doesn't contribute to the same crazy "combo" style turns where you sac your whole board several times over. 6.) Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos - Some decks straight up can't beat these cards and they make killing you extremely complicated. They are on the higher end of cost monetarily in terms of the cards covered here, and if you intend to include them, I would encourage adding another mana rock as well, but it's worth tailoring your list to accommodate them if you can. It's probably pretty safe to shave a wrath to slot these in as they fill basically the same role, just with extra steps. 7.) Diabolic Intent - Demonic Tutor is pretty good, and while The Cruelty of Gix does have its own upsides, it's five mana, which is rough even with reanimate tacked on. 8.) Phyrexian Altar - This is one of the best sacrifice outlets available, but if you had to skip out on any of these suggestions, I'd probably point you towards this one. Obviously, this is much more powerful that something like Dark Privilege (making mana is broken), but at the end up the day, as long as the sac outlet is free, the reward it gives you is almost irrelevant. You're payoff comes from your commander, Blood Artists, etc., so it's 100% sound to skimp on quality in this department. If you also are interested in some more experimental stuff, here are a couple of cards you could play around with that are simply on the sidelines due to space: 1.) Urabrask's Forge - This is sort of like a Goblin Rabblemaster or Legion Warboss, with the tradeoffs being a temporary token for a higher likelihood of living. It's interesting, and probably worth running for a match or two. 2.) Redcap Gutter Dweller - It ETBs to make tokens, sacrifices stuff for you, and kind of accrues card advantage as well. That's a lot to like- again, I'm just not confident it kicks out anything we've currently included. It's comparable to Theater of Horrors in that it's conditional, so maybe that's the optimal exchange, it's just hard to judge its consistency without sleeving it up myself. Then again, for 10 cents, it's not like you're out much for experimenting. In any case, I hope this helped, and thanks for watching! -KidintheOffice
