Blast from the past!!! :D Since I've been working on a Tomb Raider 2 remake soundtrack, I haven't uploaded any TR track in a while... So here's a remake of a Tomb Raider 2 (1997) track called "Venice violins". Every old-school TR fan will recognize it! :D This one is for them ;) Hope you'll enjoy it!

AAAARGH this induces panic as I only have 30 seconds to get the speed boat through the gates past the mines!!! SUPERB.............probably THE BEST piece of TR soundtrack ever!
Definitely an iconic theme!!!
If you leave the boat outside the boat house when you activate the gate, and swim under the door to get back into the boat, the timer never starts. You can take your sweet time about it. I did that to practice the speed run without mistakes when I played TR2 again recently, after years of neglect.

I can't say that Nico is or isn't working on the Venice levels right now ;) I did this one in advance same as I did with a DoX main theme (and then I wend to edit the whole track again to fit the main menu better). It's just a remake of one of the most iconic TR tracks. When the time comes, I'll edit it again for the DoX :)

Epic part of the game!
You don't have to. If you leave the boat outside the Boat House, when you turn the key, the gate opens but the timer doesn't start, and you can take your time about it. Last time I went through the Venice levels (after years without playing it), I pre-detonated the mines when I first encountered them, and did the boat-outside trick to practice the run so I could do it without mistakes when I went back to the time.
@@Dragonblaster1 i did a similar thing, practice run before doing it.
...except i forgot about the mines on the practice run more than once :-/

This is a seriously astounding remake ! One little thing is the E chord at 0:52-0:53 sounds wrong to me, I think it's a Em7 in the original but I could be wrong. Don't mean to sound annoying, but I wanted to make sure!
Oh yeah! I have noticed that... to be honest, I have no idea why I did that. I had to change the arrangement a bit because I had not so great vst's at that time... But why did I change from minor to major.. I honestly have no idea lol

I wasn't into it at first but the midway point really blew me away. Listened again and enjoyed it all even more! Really really fantastic work. Which DAW did you use and with what plug-ins?
Haha Glad you eventually liked it xD This one was made in Nuendo 6, but I did a remix in Cubase 8 using Spitfire Studio Strings and Orchestral Essentials 1 and 2 by ProjectSAM :)

I was composing music for the demo and beta-testing it, but at the moment, I'm not doing anything for DoX. I'm just waiting for Nico to build another part so I can continue :)
