Shame for you, the way Memphis Zoo treating pandas is abuse. The beautiful animals were not getting the care they deserve. The bamboo they were given looked stale and it was clear that the zookeepers were not treating them with the love and attention they need. The zookeeper responsible for the pandas should be fired, like, ASAP. I mean, it's obvious that this person has no passion for the animals and doesn't deserve to be taking care of them. If you look at how pandas are treated in other regions like Sichuan, Japan, and South Korea, you can see that they are treated like family. They go above and beyond to give pandas the best possible care. The Memphis Zoo could seriously learn a thing or two from them. I hope the zoo takes action and starts giving these pandas the love and care they deserve.

People mad at the zoo for Lele's death forget she was 25 years old and pandas generally only make it to 20 in the wild and 30 if they're lucky in captivity. I think South Korea's panda couple Lebao & Aibao together with their daughter Fubao is the healthiest, spoiled rotten & smart pandas i've seen among the loaned pandas. They were feed 15 kilos of bamboo every 3 hours even through the whole night. They have carrots, bamboo shoots, apples & wotou (nutritional bread personally baked by the 2 head keepers, not store bought) too. Spacious outdoor play ground with waterfalls & bamboo plants around, air-conditioned in-door playground with ice bed & tiled air-conditioned bedrooms (2 each) with water fountain & being cleaned everytime they went out. Has medical team for their monthly health check ups, dental, temperature & weight check by the head keeper before going out. The panda couple also had their hormones check during their heat period. The Bao family is smart & trustful with the keepers too. The head keepers is very knowledgeable & very hands on with the panda toys, enrichment & enhancement training.

Here is the full story about yaya and lele
So, America have wanted a panda for quite a while and finally at 2003 they got YaYa and LeLe, Yaya and Lele was very healthy and chubby at the first few year at memphis zoo. Then yaya got pregnant at 2007 january, memphis zoo was very happy and excited and treated yaya pretty good. But then they found out Yaya miscarried her baby, and because of that america needs to pay a lot of money, and I think they weren’t happy about that and they started treating Yaya and Lele unfairly. We all know panda's likes to eat bamboo’s and fruits right? Memphis zoo do give them bamboos but they are not fresh at all! they sold all the fresh bamboo to canada and Yaya and Lele only have dried and thin bamboo! they actually weren’t even edible! An average panda eats up to 26-84 pounds of bamboo per day, but memphis zoo only give about 24 pounds of bad, thin bamboo for both Yaya and Lele. That caused Yaya and Lele being skinny and having health issues, panda is not suppose to look like that! Other pandas gets treats like apples and grapes but Yaya and Lele only get about a few piece of grape, they have had a few single bite of an apple. Because of that some zoo keepers also mistreat them, they never play with them, or hug them! If you see the Memphis zoo live camera some zoo keepers even kick Yaya and Lele now and before. Some of us know Yaya and Lele have an outside yard but I have never seen them out there! Do you want to know why? because Yaya and Lele is locked in that small room and is only let out twice! And that caused Yaya and Lele to have mental problems and stress problems and is known to be called Zoochosis, they bang their head up and down for hours, walk in circles continuously, that is not how a normal panda should behave! Yaya and Lele apear lonely, skinny, stressed, and dirty. Yaya and Lele have SO many sicknesses and diseases and Infection we could lost count! Some people might say how do zookeepers mistreat them? Well, there is a real time where is halloween and the memphis zoo is suppose to give each animal a pumpkin as an reward, they gave all the animals a slice of pumpkin, but guess what? They did not give Yaya and Lele one, Yaya and Lele had to watch other animals eating that delicious slice of pumpkin..., if you all check the panda at Japan, treated SO well, they even collected XiangXiangs poop. And also russia, we know russia is not in a good place right now but we can't deny that they treat our panda well, Yuan Run was 200 pound when he was sent to russia, but now he is 240 pounds, we all know a panda should weigh about 120-250 pounds, but yaya and lele only weighs about 80 pounds. Also the Korean panda Fubao, the zookeeper treated Fubao as his own grandson, just about 2 years he made over 60 toys for fubao, and even taught him chinese because he was scared fubao dont know chinese. And the rest of the pandas is living their best lives out there. We also should not for get the other American Panda Meixiang, i dont know much about MeiXiang but I know she is mistreated, and she don't even get bamboos sometimes, they feed her ice. Yes i know, Ice. MeiXiang even had to eat ice at winter.
Now Lele is gone...China have the right to get Leles body back, it is the law to get Lele back, but instead of returning Lele, they turned Lele into a taxidermist and is put into a museum...
OUTRAGED THAT MEMPHIS ZOO STILL WANTS 2 MORE HEALTHIER AND YOUNGER PANDAS, HUH, AFTER WHAT YOU DID TO LELE AND YAYA, YOU WISH YOU CAN!
Thankyou for taking your time reading this, I teared up even writing this knowing how Yaya and Lele and Meixiang is treated...
But Yaya is going to come back hopefully next month! We will be so happy! Welcome come Yaya and Lele! Thankyou so much for the supports! Investors is already helping yaya so no need to worry! Who else is excited seeing yaya trying apples and grapes and fresh thick bamboos for the first time after these much years! 😢😊

While watching a video about the care of the pandas at the Memphis Zoo, I overheard one of the female curators refer to the remaining panda as a "silly girl." This comment troubled me deeply, as I believe it's important to approach those who are suffering with empathy and sensitivity. It's worth noting that the remaining panda lost her companion while under their care last year and now finds herself alone at the Memphis Zoo. This is undoubtedly a difficult and lonely situation for her, as she is far from her natural habitat and missing the companionship of her fellow pandas. As private citizens, it's our responsibility to show compassion and understanding towards all creatures in our care. We should be striving to provide the best possible living conditions for this remaining panda, rather than acting out of a sense of superiority or jealousy. Let's do everything we can to ensure that she receives the care and attention she deserves, and work towards a more compassionate and caring society for all beings.

I would like to ask you if it is true that this is the feeding policy of Memphis zoo ?
Their daily feeding is almost like this: everyday, the keepers give both pandas two bunches of bamboo in the beginning. When they see they beg for food, usually they will try bamboo culm first. if the pandas don't eat, they'll try another bamboo culm, and after 2-5 times of failure, they may feed cookies instead. LeLe usually gets more cookies than YaYa and he usually will ask for cookies before he sits down and eats the bamboo unless the bamboo he receives is very pleased with his appetite. And during the whole day, if the first 2 bunches of bamboo are left a lot, they won't clean the house and offer new bunches, Instead, they let the pandas beg, wait, and they will try bamboo culm at the door, piece by piece, or offering cookies to comfort them a bit and push them to eat the bamboo given to them. If things don't work and pandas keep begging, they'll consider cleaning the house and offer one more bunch of bamboo after finishing the cleaning. So the pandas get 2 or utmost 3 bunches of bamboo every day, and they usually only eat 1/3-1/2 of the bamboo they receive.
I saw it from the panda cam.

They don't have any trouble eating. Last week I saw lele rip open a very big strong looking piece of bamboo in half eith his bare paws. They are not stressed in the least, i practically lived in fromt of their enclosure for a week lol. Lele got enrichment snacks through the bars after his lunch and he was not constantly begging and wasn't stressed. Yaya was napping a lot as she's 22 and that's elderly for a panda. The 20 year lease is almost up so lele and yaya are going to back to china soon to love the rest pf their pives in china. Idk if the memphis zoo will get new pandas after lele and yaya leave, I guess time will tell.
