Definitely more often then not I forget that Molly is blind, she's just Molly to me and she is awesome, one of the best in my opinion. Love her content
This is just like me as a diabetic. I have a pump that is attached to my body 24/7 and all my friends and my romantic partner forgets I’m a diabetic bc people with disabilities (yes diabetes is a disability) are still people despite the accessories or accessibility’s they use to ease their day 💛💛
i went to school with a bling girl. I did 4 years of German class with her. I saw her everyday of my high school career. The girl would say hi to several of us without even looking at us. As after 4 years in class with her she knew our footsteps and she once told me she could smell my perfume before I even walked into class. I also remember that after 2 yrs in high school she could walk around without her cane as she knew the school and it was a smaller town so us kids just started looking out for her. If something was in the path and she did not have her cane we kids would say. Hey wait. Move things and then tell her it was safe. One thing That stands out for me. Once we got a new student. The kid was so determand to prove she was NOT blind because she could move around and recognize people. It was so hard to get him to understand How long we had been together as kids in school and how us kids helped make sure she was safe. Until the day we all graduated the kid still thought she could SEE. Lesson I learned from her. JUST Because YOUR ARE BLIND DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANT BE THE BOOS OF YOUR LIFE.
I remember saying something regarding my cycle on Twitter and my guy friend literally shamed me for it. Like, really? Y'all can talk about self-pleasure any ol' time you want, which is objectively as disgusting as menstruation, but I'm not allowed to vent about my cycle? Okay 🙄
I found you because my daughter (who is 8) let me know that "this pretty girl can't see but she dresses better than you". Thank you for sharing your life with the world Molly. I know my household appreciates whatever you choose to share.
That's messed up, that people were judging you for getting your mom to check when you get your periods. I'm close with my mom and my sister, we've often helped each other out with stuff that can be awkward but that's what you do when you trust people, and when you need help. Checking panties isn't even that big a deal.
And honestly like those of us that are visually impaired/ blind just simply can’t always see it. With anything, bruises, cuts, and periods it’s hard to see and we have to know
seriously, you gotta do what you gotta do. and also, it's her MOM for Pete's sake. if anyone can check her underwear without it being weird, it's her mom.
@@EditsByLyra To many people have decided that menstruation should be hidden and therefore embarrassing to speak about. Most women have periods and we should not be embarrassed to speak out it nor ask for help when needed.
I thought the same thing I'm super close to my mom and sister and we have defiantly done some pretty awkward stuff to help each other out. And we're not even blind. Like you said that's just what happens when you have a close relationship with women lol
I’ve been watching Molly for a good while now and can I just say she has taught me so much, not only about the blind community and blindness in general, but also about life and how to be a better person. So Molly, if you happen to come across this comment, I just wanted to say Thank You! And keep doing what you’re doing because you must be doing something right, I look forward to a new video of yours and absolutely adore your personality💕
molly has truly taught me so much about respecting and understanding different peoples disabilities and now i always try my best to inform the people in my life about everything she has taught me ❤️✨
I do the same my family knows that I like watching Molly and once in a while I make comments about accessibility and other stuff, and they weren’t to surprise when I said I would like to learn Braille or Auslan they even like the idea
I know molly probably won't see this, but she helped me learn how to guide someone who is blind. I asked her if she needed help and she said yes so I went over to her right side and offered my elbow.
Honestly, I love Molly’s video about bras! As a 24 year old female I didn’t think I would learn so much about bras and the different shapes. I didn’t know that there were actual different shapes of bras, I thought they were all the same! I was a little hesitant going into the video, but Molly never fails to impress me with her content. Keep up the amazing, fun and informative videos girl!! 10/10 every time
I knew that boobs were diff shapes but never heard anyone talk about it and I was actually able to talk to a friend the other day who was feeling insecure about her breast and I was able to let her know it was normal and showed her the "boob chart" and she was like "wow, so there are probably more people like me?!" I felt so bad that she thought he was an odd ball
As a fellow blind youtuber I don’t agree with the whole you can’t represent us because your wealth. I feel like that’s not fair because you worked your butt off to get where you are. I can only see someone saying that cause the same people who would watch you don’t support other fellow blind youtubers only you. That’s the only thing I can think of. Don’t get me wrong though I really love your videos I really love molly cause she helps me know that I can be a youtuber and not just identify as one thing and do what I love.
Yeah, she had to work twice as a hard and definitely deserves any success she’s earned. She’s such an amazing awesome person. She’s done and accomplished so many things for the community. Her advocating has changed things. I’m not blind but do have eye issues. Like if I don’t have glasses I can’t see. Especially at night. And have a severe astigmatism. Molly is such a inspiration. It sucks that 80% of blind people are unemployed we need to change that. But for anyone to be upset with molly is insane. Anyone can start a business. Anyone. You just have to work a bit harder to make it work.
Molly you are not the only disabled person I watch. You're not the only blind person I watch. But you do DO MUCH for dismantling stigma and stereotypes that surround disability- not even just blindness. The fact that you do unapologetically LIVE your life for fashion and design and connections and education does more than simply making videos about blindness. I mean... we all learned about blindness in school, but there is obviously only so much that did. You keep doing you. Those who can learn from you and relate to you will benefit from your life, light, and lessons, and those who cant will hopefully find someone else they can learn from.
The qualifications to receive disability benefits is what hinders many in the disability community from obtaining employment and assets to get above the poverty line. If you have a disability that requires chronic medical care/treatments, you're often forced to stay unemployed (and single) in order to qualify/maintain government disability benefits to pay for said medical needs. When married, your spouse's assets can disqualify you. It's a systematic problem, not a Molly problem!
As a mother of a disabled son, this is so true. I am now working full time and pur benefits are about to decrease. If they decrease to 0 we lose the medical services. BUT in my state their is a waiver for disabled ppl so even if you make too much money you can still get health part covered. I was scared for many years to work, but I now make enough to at least pay the bills without worrying if the check is going to be there, just have to be wary of the health side of things. Without the extra services he gets, he isnt going to have the quality of life we hope for him to have.
I probably won't be able to get married because of this. I even asked my local priest if I'd be able to get a blessing if I can't get married. he's not sure if that's an option either because church marriages typically require a marriage license. So unfair.
I’m also blind, and I don’t even want to see blind content all the time. We are more than our blindness. Molly keep doing you, and never feel guilty for your success.
I am a 30 year old Canadian with RP as well and find you a good representative for blind kind. I work full time and have 2 kids with 2 on the way. I’ve worked hard to get where I am and see myself as any other woman my age. I just can’t read print and use a guide dog. Thanks for bringing awareness to the disability community💜
It is interesting what makes people relatable. I'm 40 and sighted but the things you say Molly, really touch me and have opened my eyes to several areas of life including blindness, fashion and self confidence. When I first found your videos I didn't think I'd have much in common since I'm so much older, but honestly age is just a number and you are a wise woman with important things to say. I also give Mama Bee a lot of credit for raising such an independent beautiful woman!
I can admit that I was super ignorant to the blind community before I found your videos. You have taught me nearly everything I know about blindness. And now I often forget you are blind until you remind us! You definitely fulfilled your mission to educate - now I refer other friends to watch you. Keep doing what you're doing!
I am a wheelchair user an have an interview on thursday, I am excited to show another employer that I can be employed and so can other disabled people. You remind me that it can be done :)
Molly dont let anyone get you down. Your spirit and vibe always makes me feel like im listening to my best friend. I truly love the way you communicate through TH-cam. Your ability to exprsss yourself and educate others is truly a blessing.
Yes, I think if when watching a TH-camr you feel like you could be good friends with them, then they must be doing a great job. Molly and her mum are people who I feel could be friends to me :)
For starters; you should NEVER have to feel guilty for achieving something that a LOT of others didn't achieve. You put in a lot of hard honest work, you deserve it! And yes, a lot of other people that don't have it deserve it too, but that's not your fault! Also, you don't have to explain why you do what you do with your life or your company. It's a good thing that you do, but you don't have to. You make the content you want, you spend your money the way you like, you work with companies that you like to work with. And if you don't live without support for whatever reason, that's also completely up to you. Sure, I like the educational video's more than lifestyle video's. But that doesn't mean you should only make educational video's! If somebody doesn't like something, they don't have to watch it. I really learned a LOT from watching your video's, and I think you're a wonderful person for doing what you do, and for just being you!
Well said. And, the fact that there is a variety of content, each video made with purpose and intention, is what I really appreciate about Molly's channel. I'm looking forward to the day when there's a Molly Burke TV show, too.
I think people sometimes need reminding that just because a brand is not currently accessible doesn't make them bad, more often than not they are just oblivious and uneducated
Agreed, like a lot of brands are trying to go cruelty free, but aren't yet so they get hate. But they are trying and have the end intention of being cruelty free. I won't buy it if it isn't cruelty free but I appreciate the effort, and when they do go CF I will most definitely try out their stuff.
The thing is, though, brands aren't people and shouldn't be judged in the same way as people are. If your friend doesn't know about something, it might be excusable: maybe it's because of their upbringing, their life experiences, the systemic issues that pervade our societies and educational systems. But a brand is not a person, they have entire departments dedicated to marketing and PT, hundreds of people involved in decisions and designs. It's not okay for them to be ignorant.
@@sofiavoudou9021 I think the point is that it is not as easy as it seems for us common folk, to suddenly implement new solutions for the whole company. It takes planning, testing, improving and most of all it takes time. So if a brand is actively trying to do all those things and does it gradually, it's good, right? It's still a couple steps in the right direction. I'd say let's appreciate it and encourage more brands to take the same steps. Let's not hate just for the sake of hating.
@@szalonajulka I absolutely agree with encouraging brands to take these steps, and celebrating those which do. But I think it's wrong to simply accept those brands which don't do what I see as the bare minimum. Why are we lowering our standards to appease corporations? Let us set the standard and make them rise to it. Let's expect more.
@@sofiavoudou9021 I took Outside's comment only in regards to brands that do strive to be accessible and to not shame them just because they haven't reached the goal yet. But even with brand that don't, you must remember companies are made of people. And even if they have teams for marketing etc., the people who make those teams aren't always educated and open about accessibility. And I agree we should educate those people :)
When you are disabled, either you are « not working hard enough to find a job and are abusing the government’s money to live » or you are « too privileged to understand what it’s like to be discriminated against »
This! I was just trying to count something similar. You said it much more eloquently and concisely than what I was coming up with lol No one person can possibly reflect the exact experiences of a vast and varied community of people.
NOBODY SHOULD SHAME ANYONE!! Didn't anyone teach you that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?! Molly, I am a 50+ woman who ISN'T blind and I LOVE watching your videos... ALL of them!! AT THIS MOMENT, I'm not sure as to why I watch your videos, but on some level, I connect with YOU, otherwise I wouldn't be watching them!! Keep up the great job you are doing!! Jennifer from Oregon!! Stay safe young lady 🤗
hi molly, i also have a disability not as serious as yours but i do and it’s called ataxia. i recently got a bee tattoo on my chest and i like to think that it’s a representation of you and your inspiration that you have given me. i know that people assume things sometimes about you but i really think that no one really understands unless they have a disability themselves and understand what you go through on a day to day basis. i understand it myself because i go through struggles everyday but i really think that you are the reason i have began to love myself for what i have. keep up the amazing work you are a big inspiration that if you really love something, nothing even a disability won’t stop you.
The reason that blind people are stigmatized and living in poverty is because blindness is misunderstood. Your mere existence on the internet is working to change this. The same way that a sighted influencer doesn’t represent everyone who sees, a blind influencer doesn’t represent all blind people. My life is different. I’m a mom. I work in corporate America. Im a marathoner. I’m blind. I get it. I see you. I appreciate you. You don’t have to BE me, to still be furthering our cause.
“If I’m only talking about how I’m different, it makes it hard to realize that we’re the same.” - Molly Burke Amazing quote. You are so intelligent and well spoken.
There’s just something about you that truly makes me happy every time I watch your videos. I became an incomplete paraplegic almost five years ago at 22 from a tragic car accident that I almost didn’t survive several times. My whole future collapsed around me. I had just finished EMT and was going on to become a fire medic and the realization that it would never be a reality after the accident was and still is devastating. But watching you truly helps me to remain hopeful and passionate that I will find something else in my life that I love doing. Love you Molly 💜
Last week on train I sat the front of a blind boy using voiceover on his phone and I immediately thought of Molly 💛 It is a very nice feeling to be educated and understand blind people's things! It's all thanks to you Molly, love you! 💞🐝 P.s I always wait for your new video and I'm so happy when it's out. It's my weekly routine now to watch your videos 😄💕
The period thing just pisses me off like why can’t she have someone else look at it when we sighted people all look at our toilet paper to check so like lowkey what’s the difference it’s just someone looking at toilet paper like why are you shaming someone for that
I KNOW, RIGHT!!!!!! "I can look, but don't you dare have someone else look for you!!?" It made so much sense when she said that's how she does it! I would do that for a friend - even a stranger, to be honest. It's not like she's having her mom touch it. It's gotta take like a second! What's the big deal?
Yes, you do you! Bodyshaming can be crushing, and I'm very sorry, that you have to experience that. But I think, it's so mature and intelligent how you adress it, like you do with all sensitive topics you speak about. I love your channel, you are the greatest role model (yes, I'm nearly 20 years older than you but you are one for me). Thanks, Molly, and much love from Germany
hi molly I competely love when you show us assumtions and provide clarity for all of us that dont have a life like yours. I just love how you share how you navigate the world and have a everyday life and you dont have a fake life like so many youtubers. also I love your book and listen to it so often! i love you!!
I found you as a recommended video because of your fashion and make up videos, I'm a sighted woman with 0 knowledge of the blind community and something about you interested and intrigued me so I started to watch your videos about your life as a blind woman and I admire you, I think you are so strong, your message is so powerful and I really like you. I could go on for hours about all you have taught me as a sighted person, about the blind community, about fashion, about all-sorts!! Truly inspiring!! Sending all the love from England!! ❤️
Your such a inspiration to me. I was in a deep depression right after my cat passed away around 2 years ago and I stumbled upon your videos and they helped me feel happy again, And that everything will be okay
I am inspired by Molly but not because she’s a blind woman going about her life. I’m inspired by Molly because she appears to be an authentic, self-aware human, and that’s the kind of energy I want to emulate!
PERIODS AREN'T GROSS!!! People need to get over their ridiculous hangups they're dealing with around menstruation, and not put that shit onto you! Well done for sharing your own experiences without shame, and helping others feel less ashamed of having a body, especially one that menstruates.
Molly you are a huge inspiration to me - I am not disabled - but you have taught me more about the disabled community as a whole, growing up in “normal” circumstances, I was taught the stereotypes, that the blind and the deaf are weird, strange, but since discovering you you taught me that you are just as normal as everyone else - and I appreciate it ❤️
Thank you for being so vulnerable both as a blind person and as a woman. I love learning about disability and accessibility and I also love just seeing what you’re up to. Love you Molly
Gets help with period stuff: shamed Doesn't get help with period stuff: probably still shamed Why do some humans go out of their way to make others feel SO uncomfortable with their own humanity?! Thanks for being vulnerable AND strong. Love y'all
Molly, thank you so much for sharing your blindness journey. You have helped me understand what you have gone through, and to that I will always be grateful. I think you are doing amazing things, not just for the blind community, but for the mental health community as well. So once again I think you.
For me, as a sighted person who has never met or been in contact with someone considered legally blind, Molly's videos have given me a glimpse of what it is to live like a disabled person. And I'm so thankful for that. Without her videos I would never have had the possibility to do that. So thank you Molly for sharing your own experiences so a person like me with no experiences at all, has a possibility to try and understand how it it. And yes Molly can only talk about her own experiences but that has helped me understanding so much about how it is to live as a disabled person and she keeps inspiring me. Thank you Molly!
what i love about your channel and the reason i’ve been a loyal subscriber for years now, is the fact that you don’t only do “disability content”. of course your blindness is a part of your identity and a lot of people discovered your channel through videos about your “blind girl struggles” or other content in disabilities. but what makes us stay is you. just being yourself, making people forget you are blind sometimes and showing that while your blindness is a part of you, you are still very much a normal person with normal interests and a normal life minus a few exceptions. i have learned so much from your videos, not only about the topic of blindness/disability, but also about how i should judge people. not on how they look, what their “defining feature” is or something, but on what type of person they are. what are their interests, what are their goals in life how do they treat other people, that’s so much more important that the image we get to know when we first meet someone.
I wanted to tell you Molly that I love your videos that aren't about blindness almost as much if not more than your other content. I have learned a lot about blindness and also about life in general. You are the reason I finally started listening to my friends and actually went clothes shopping lol. Every time I get the notification that there is a new video it makes my day. I really love your channel and I just wanted you to know.
I actually was needing some new bras when you put up the bra video. I actually learned that the band is more important and to get the right size is so important. I’m so much more comfortable now I have a more supporting bra
Molly, you need to give yourself more credit. You aren’t just lucky, you are extremely hardworking. You keep pushing when you can’t push anymore. You inspire not by “inspiration porn” but by surviving. You are vulnerable. You are real. And you are paving the way for people, like me, who want to share their disability story but felt no one “looked like me”. That’s what makes you exceptional. anyone who doesn’t get the adversity you face of being “not the norm” on these platforms doesn’t get it
Molly! I came for the blind education and I stayed for YOU! I am a nurse and had a difficult experience with a blind patient and came online to find recommendations from blind people, not just scientific studies done by sighted people. After finding your channel I have not only learned what I came for but I've stayed because of your beauty, fashion, and overall fun content!
You know what, there is a good thing that comes from this. You are just the right person to be able to handle all these comments, you address all aspects of a comment and educate through the process. I’m proud of you and everything you’ve overcome. You are just what this younger generation needs 🖤 we can all learn about others experiences so we can all create and nurture a more kind world for all. There’s so many bright minds out there that need to hear your encouraging words ✨
Molly, I support you 100% for talking about issues that a lot of women are too uncomfortable to discuss. And I admire your strength and courage to discuss your struggles with being blind as well as being a woman. And while I am not fully blind, I do have blind areas in my field of vision but I have learned how to adapt. I love your videos about fashion, interior design, tea, etc. because those are things that I am passionate about as well. And I got so much out of your bra and period videos as well. I too typically have to order bras online because a 30C or 30D isn’t typically available in stores. And I am also a petite woman that loves fashion but am not always able to find clothes that I love in my size. Ignore the haters because those of us that actually watch your videos and support you... we love you, admire you, respect you, and support you. You are an inspiration and add a bright and positive voice to TH-cam that is so needed and appreciated.
The truth is ALL women need some kind of help with their periods at one time or another and no one has the right to judge you for it. Love you Molly! Keep being fabulous!!!
I came here for your fashion videos! I love your fashion, how you pick out clothes, and your try on videos. I love how honest, and straightforward you are with your community. It’s why I’ve stuck around. Love you!
I LOVED your period as a blind girl video. I ALWAYS wondered and you gave me real answers that most people wont dare say to the world. You are so brave and so honest and I never want you to change.
Your so strong and amazing Molly. Don't ever stop being yourself. Screw the haters. If they don't like the videos your putting out or the topics or whatever than they can go somewhere else.
I love your content, Molly. As a disabled woman who has been watching since you were with your ex, I love seeing your success and I think you’ve really made such a conscious effort to show that this is just you and that other people have other experiences.
You are beyond positive and a genuine light. I am not blind but I have learned about so many misconceptions and I’m sure so many blind people across all platforms enjoy your content because it’s relatable to them! I can’t speak on that but from a non-blind person perspective I love learning new things. Thank you for doing what you do ❤️
I love this video so much. You have taught me so much about mental health, and fashion as well. Also I’ve gotten so many ideas from you on how to live but still be independent as a young blind woman. I also get having your own business, and having somebody to help you. Having help with stuff like that is definitely not a bad thing. Love you so much and love your content.
I am disabled. For the past 20 years I have tried to speak about disability while making sure that my disability didn't define me. It is a part of me, but it isn't all of me. I am so much more than my disability. And you are too. I think it is incredibly important for you to show other aspects of who you are and I am grateful that you do. We have very different disabilities. Our lives are very different. But you do represent me. And I thank you for it.
I love that you make videos that aren't just about being blind. Because you are showing the world how you have to deal with the world as a blind person. It also shows us sightees how ignorant we are to how unaccessible things are. Im left handed, a DDD, and visually impaired. I didnt realize I do certain things like a blind person would until I watched your videos. I dig in my purse without using my eyes, ive memorized where items are in the room so I can go to the bathroom at night without having to put my glasses on, and when my husband puts the laundry basket at the foot of the bed without telling me, he doesn't understand why I'm upset when I trip on it. "Just put your glasses on".. ugh, I'm rambling, but point is, I love your videos, ALL your videos, and i appreciate you Molly.
Your channel is the perfect blend of blind content and regular content. Your blind content helps people understand how to be more inclusive. Your fashion and lifestyle content helps show people that blind people care about different things and most of the time I honestly forget your blind. Your channel is perfect keep doing what your doing!!❤❤❤❤ 🐝 🐝🐝
I genuinely love watching your videos about fashion and your life. I love seeing people being passionate about their hobbies or interests. It's important to see how you are multifaceted and are a person beyond your disability. That's definitely the biggest thing I've learned from you- no matter how different someone is or seems, they are still normal.
I imagine getting thumbs down for this but I want to explain myself.. I'm glad you said something about the misconception that you arent a typical blind person, that you dont look like the life of a blind person. I had once unsubscribed because I was feeling that way about you. Like shes making money off her disability... BUT I have since changed that. I have a disabled son and it is so HARD. but hes the love of my life. We have such a bond, and now I want to speak for disabled ppl too. And whether disabled or not, you take the life you are given and rock it as you have. You most likely wouldve been this same way in your life without the blindness I do believe. As far as your success. So that being said, I am sorry for thinking about you that way, but now you made me see why I was thinking like that, and also why it's not true. You are successful not bc of the blindness. But bc you are Molly. You just happen to be blind. And the disability makes for some great content let me tell you lol but it's not the sole reason for your success. It doesnt mean you havent struggled. Seeing someone who is disabled living a lavish la lifestyle is something that's not seen unless on youtube or the media, so that's why we make the assumption and it makes us be like eh, shes not THAT disabled bc she has an amazing life.. but it's just not true. Anyone can have success like you, being disabled is just a side note.
It's a same that people don't believe you when you say you are blind, it's not a fun thing to live with. When I first needed glasses, my classmates thought my glasses were fake but nope! I don't understand why people can't just accept who they are and who other people are as well. Love and hope for everyone!! 💖💖💖
Wow I’ve watched Molly for years now and it still to this day blows my mind how well spoken she is and how she explains topics that people don’t see all sides off. She was born to be a preacher for her viewers❤️
You are definitely empowering people!! You have a big heart, and your energy is contagious. Keep doing your videos, and your content is always fun and informative❤️❤️❤️❤️You are beautiful inside and out!!
I will never understand how much hate and judgement individuals place on such a beautiful person. Molly is such a beautiful soul a d deserves better. Thank you for making your personal journey available to the public. It is beautiful to see such a kind strong women discuss her life. Thank you Molly for all you do, you have helped so many individuals with your content and do not deserve all the haters!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I will always watch any content you post!
I love fashion and interior design even though I’m visually impaired and I’ve had so many people say to me and think that I would be in capable of doing those things because of my eyesight.
My problem is people like vocational Rehab for individuals like us, who are supposed to advocate for us and help us be independent, push us to a career or job that THEY feel we would be best suited to. I’m legally blind but I aspired to be a cosmetologist. That was short lived. I had a business plan all written up for a wedding planning business and every step of the way they tried to deter me. Now I’m still jobless, I have several talents that people believe someone with my disability couldn’t possibly be able to do, and no way to utilize them. I just wish one employer would give me a chance...
I never was informed about people with disabilities when I was younger, so finding out you guys live just like us and aren't incredibly different like society portrays you was so incredibly odd for me. I truly believe learning about blindness because of Molly opened my eyes to how people with disabilities are treated and live.
Why do some people have to be so mean and judgemental 😔 That video about boobs taught me, a 31-year-old, something I never knew as well so I was very grateful for that video and I’m glad you share stuff about your life and stuff you’re passionate about, not just about your blindness although that’s cool too. Keep up the good work, Molly, you’re amazing 💜
I forget you're blind all the time while watching your videos! I love you and all your content no matter what it is. Your vibe is very vibrant and I always feel better after watching your video 💙
Also, I'm very appreciative that you're willing to put yourself out there regardless of the negative feedback. You're helping so many people open up about everyday issues that women should never be ashamed or embarrassed about! Ever.
You can see the sadness in her face when she talks about representing the blind community and it makes me really sad. Molly we love you and support you
I feel like all of those 'misconceptions' were started by people who don't watch your content because I feel like it's so self explanatory even if someone just watched a few of your videos.
Molly you inspire me everyday...but not because you are blind or because you have gone through depression. You inspire me because you are a kind person and hard worker.
Molly - to the point that you don't represent all blind people, there's this incredible TED Talk by Chimamanda Adichie called The Danger of a Single Story that really reinforces what you're saying. There's no *one* story of being a blind person (or even a blind Canadian woman) because there's no one single story of ANY identity! I find it a really useful tool to communicate that and I can't recommend it highly enough.
You, my sweet, are AMAZING. I admit sometimes I do pass over some videos, but every last one that I have watched are highly informative. I FULLY SUPPORT you doing that thing. Helping other people understand various aspects of the blind community is wonderful. Helping them understand themselves and others around them is downright AMAZING. Im not sure how you initially started this journey, but you're making it so much more understandable for so very many of us. For that, I thank you. Its not easy. But you make it look like it is. You are one highly impressive young woman. Im curious to see where life takes you. Its gonna be good, whatever it is!
i love every kind of video you make molly! you’ve taught me so much about blindness while also offering a community full of love and laughter and acceptance
The fact that people are trying to period shame you is SUCH bs. Like a woman with a disability is sharing her experience to educate people and people are like ew? That’s disgusting that people try to pull that bs
I guess people period shame everyone who tries to honestly share experiences and educate people, but of course history has stigmatized periods. And I think Molly gets more sh*t because she’s blind which just adds to the stigmatization.
She's so well-spoken, clear, and honest. She's vulnerable but strong. All of her points are logical and structured. I enjoy all of the videos you put up Molly, I do forget that you're blind sometimes! And i've learned almost everything I know now from you. I've been noticing so many accessibility things in regular daily life - for example, I saw Starbucks gift cards with braille!! I was so excited about it!!
Mama bee : *moved out*
Also mama bee : *appears even more often than before*
Well they are business partners...
Idk why I was so surprised that Molly received hate. I feel like she’s so positive and genuine.
Aw, thank you!! I really appreciate that! I try my best. :)
Molly Burke You *ARE* the best!❤️
Some of us are wondering why Bill Gates had her interview him... it's weird. She's kind of a sell out.
@@MollyBurkeOfficial one of my favorite youtubers!
@@humbleharvest4324 I don't understand, I thought the Bill Gates interview was great. Why does that make her a sell out?
Definitely more often then not I forget that Molly is blind, she's just Molly to me and she is awesome, one of the best in my opinion. Love her content
This is just like me as a diabetic. I have a pump that is attached to my body 24/7 and all my friends and my romantic partner forgets I’m a diabetic bc people with disabilities (yes diabetes is a disability) are still people despite the accessories or accessibility’s they use to ease their day 💛💛
I'm usually reminded that Molly's blind only when she mentions it. And then I facepalm XD
i went to school with a bling girl.
The fact that people shame people over a typical bodily function is sad and disheartening
Period
@@anainesgonzalez8868 I see what you did there :D
I remember saying something regarding my cycle on Twitter and my guy friend literally shamed me for it. Like, really? Y'all can talk about self-pleasure any ol' time you want, which is objectively as disgusting as menstruation, but I'm not allowed to vent about my cycle? Okay 🙄
Me during during Covid: Looks like a sad goblin
Molly: Looking like a fresh faced goddess
I found you because my daughter (who is 8) let me know that "this pretty girl can't see but she dresses better than you". Thank you for sharing your life with the world Molly. I know my household appreciates whatever you choose to share.
Haha. Well Molly dresses better than most people so don't feel bad
That’s funny! Thanks honey! Kids sometimes!
With anything, bruises, cuts, and periods it’s hard to see and we have to know
@@emmagore9913 Yeah, that makes perfect logical sense. I don't see why people have any issue with it.
seriously, you gotta do what you gotta do. and also, it's her MOM for Pete's sake. if anyone can check her underwear without it being weird, it's her mom.
And keep doing what you’re doing because you must be doing something right, I look forward to a new video of yours and absolutely adore your personality💕
wow, this comment really means a lot to me! Thank you so much!!
I feel the same way, Molly has really helped me through times when I have felt down, she always keeps such a positive view.
I completely agree thank you molly
Me to ❤️
molly has truly taught me so much about respecting and understanding different peoples disabilities and now i always try my best to inform the people in my life about everything she has taught me ❤️✨
Sarah Pattee me to ☺️
I do the same my family knows that I like watching Molly and once in a while I make comments about accessibility and other stuff, and they weren’t to surprise when I said I would like to learn Braille or Auslan they even like the idea
Or some point please check out my TH-cam channel
Ooo ill have a look at ur channel
Yeah, she had to work twice as a hard and definitely deserves any success she’s earned. She’s such an amazing awesome person. She’s done and accomplished so many things for the community. Her advocating has changed things.
I’m not blind but do have eye issues. Like if I don’t have glasses I can’t see. Especially at night. And have a severe astigmatism. Molly is such a inspiration.
It sucks that 80% of blind people are unemployed we need to change that. But for anyone to be upset with molly is insane. Anyone can start a business. Anyone. You just have to work a bit harder to make it work.
Fukai Kokoro yep
marianna ❤ thanks
This is so so so true and I wish it was spoken about so much more!
Please check out my TH-cam channel
As a mother of a disabled son, this is so true. I am now working full time and pur benefits are about to decrease. If they decrease to 0 we lose the medical services. BUT in my state their is a waiver for disabled ppl so even if you make too much money you can still get health part covered. I was scared for many years to work, but I now make enough to at least pay the bills without worrying if the check is going to be there, just have to be wary of the health side of things. Without the extra services he gets, he isnt going to have the quality of life we hope for him to have.
Wow, I never knew that. Thanks for bringing it up 💞
I probably won't be able to get married because of this. I even asked my local priest if I'd be able to get a blessing if I can't get married. he's not sure if that's an option either because church marriages typically require a marriage license. So unfair.
I think it's horrible that others shame you for how you deal with your period.
Agreed.
I’m also blind, and I don’t even want to see blind content all the time. We are more than our blindness. Molly keep doing you, and never feel guilty for your success.
👏👏👏
🥰🥰
I love Molly’s bed room so much it is my aesthetic to the t
Yes!
I agree I love her new bedroom at this apartment I liked the design mr Kate did but i feel like this bedroom is more mature and fits her❤️
Ik
Yes!! So lovely and cozy. Beautiful.
Hope the interview goes well! ☺️
That is an amazing attitude. I hope it goes well!
Good luck to you with your interview! And even if this one isn't it, keep trying! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!
We need more disability advocacy.
Molly dont let anyone get you down. Your spirit and vibe always makes me feel like im listening to my best friend. I truly love the way you communicate through TH-cam. Your ability to exprsss yourself and educate others is truly a blessing.
Than you, truly! This means so much to me. XO
You read my mind
I'm learning a whole lot even from watching those lifestyle videos, too. But for somebody else they might not be of interest. To each their own :)
I agree with all of this and you sound super sweet:)
I second this 100%!!!! 😍
And I agree we should educate those people :)
if there's anything that I can attest to 100%, it's the fact that I love everything Molly posts
When you are disabled, either you are « not working hard enough to find a job and are abusing the government’s money to live » or you are « too privileged to understand what it’s like to be discriminated against »
PREACHHHHHHH
This! I was just trying to count something similar. You said it much more eloquently and concisely than what I was coming up with lol
No one person can possibly reflect the exact experiences of a vast and varied community of people.
It's sad how our community is treated
NOBODY SHOULD SHAME ANYONE!! Didn't anyone teach you that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?!
Molly, I am a 50+ woman who ISN'T blind and I LOVE watching your videos... ALL of them!!
AT THIS MOMENT, I'm not sure as to why I watch your videos, but on some level, I connect with YOU, otherwise I wouldn't be watching them!!
Keep up the great job you are doing!! Jennifer from Oregon!!
Stay safe young lady 🤗
Me too. I just like the way Molly talks and thinks.
hi molly, i also have a disability not as serious as yours but i do and it’s called ataxia. i recently got a bee tattoo on my chest and i like to think that it’s a representation of you and your inspiration that you have given me. i know that people assume things sometimes about you but i really think that no one really understands unless they have a disability themselves and understand what you go through on a day to day basis. i understand it myself because i go through struggles everyday but i really think that you are the reason i have began to love myself for what i have. keep up the amazing work you are a big inspiration that if you really love something, nothing even a disability won’t stop you.
“If I’m only talking about how I’m different, it makes it hard to realize that we’re the same.” - Molly Burke
Amazing quote.
P.s I always wait for your new video and I'm so happy when it's out. It's my weekly routine now to watch your videos 😄💕
Your makeup today, specifically your bronzer/contour, is on point. 😍
The period thing just pisses me off like why can’t she have someone else look at it when we sighted people all look at our toilet paper to check so like lowkey what’s the difference it’s just someone looking at toilet paper like why are you shaming someone for that
I KNOW, RIGHT!!!!!! "I can look, but don't you dare have someone else look for you!!?"
It made so much sense when she said that's how she does it!
The colour of your hoodie makes your skin really glow.
If I was her friend, I will never be bored like she’s so nice and entertaining
“I will never be bored” EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! She’s the best
Love all the nice comments telling people to have a good day it's so sweet
For me, you represent that being blind doesn't mean being dependent, so for that I will always be grateful to you
I am inspired by Molly but not because she’s a blind woman going about her life.
Love your roots sweatshirt! Goo Canada 🇨🇦!!!!!
Love you molly!
I can’t believe I’ve gotten 26 likes and a like from molly! Omg 😱
Molly you are a huge inspiration to me - I am not disabled - but you have taught me more about the disabled community as a whole, growing up in “normal” circumstances, I was taught the stereotypes, that the blind and the deaf are weird, strange, but since discovering you you taught me that you are just as normal as everyone else - and I appreciate it ❤️
It’s crazy to me that people could discriminate against someone so kind, understanding, accepting, and caring.
Thank you for being so vulnerable both as a blind person and as a woman. I love learning about disability and accessibility and I also love just seeing what you’re up to. Love you Molly
Gets help with period stuff: shamed
Doesn't get help with period stuff: probably still shamed
Why do some humans go out of their way to make others feel SO uncomfortable with their own humanity?! Thanks for being vulnerable AND strong. Love y'all
Your skin is GLOWING!!! It's beautiful and you look so happy. Keep being you we love it!
Aw, thanks love!!
Molly, thank you so much for sharing your blindness journey. You have helped me understand what you have gone through, and to that I will always be grateful. I think you are doing amazing things, not just for the blind community, but for the mental health community
as well. So once again I think you.
I would love to see a makeup tour seeing all your lipsticks, eyeshadows, etc! 😍😍
I don’t understand why people find it nescessary to make up rumors and false accusations just to have a reason to not like someone
I'm so excited for this, myths are so interesting and blindness makes it even more interesting xxxx
what i love about your channel and the reason i’ve been a loyal subscriber for years now, is the fact that you don’t only do “disability content”. of course your blindness is a part of your identity and a lot of people discovered your channel through videos about your “blind girl struggles” or other content in disabilities. but what makes us stay is you. just being yourself, making people forget you are blind sometimes and showing that while your blindness is a part of you, you are still very much a normal person with normal interests and a normal life minus a few exceptions.
i have learned so much from your videos, not only about the topic of blindness/disability, but also about how i should judge people. not on how they look, what their “defining feature” is or something, but on what type of person they are. what are their interests, what are their goals in life how do they treat other people, that’s so much more important that the image we get to know when we first meet someone.
Love you!
The first thing I hear is that something makes Molly sad... plz can I make u happy?
I LOVED your period as a blind girl video. I ALWAYS wondered and you gave me real answers that most people wont dare say to the world. You are so brave and so honest and I never want you to change.
Molly really helped me understand what it is really like to be blind, which helped me be less shy around other blind people. Thank you! 😊
Your so strong and amazing Molly. Don't ever stop being yourself. Screw the haters. If they don't like the videos your putting out or the topics or whatever than they can go somewhere else.
Molly I feel like blonde hair suits you so well
I could Hear you for hours Molly, you have this talent. You could speak about anything
I love your content, Molly. As a disabled woman who has been watching since you were with your ex, I love seeing your success and I think you’ve really made such a conscious effort to show that this is just you and that other people have other experiences.
Wow, thank you so much for sticking around for so long! You're a real OG! I appreciate that you see my efforts to simply share MY story.
Molly is a role model for everyone, period. She is true, an activist for change, and a beautiful person. 💜
Amen Molly. Keep doing what chu do
It's a same that people don't believe you when you say you are blind, it's not a fun thing to live with. When I first needed glasses, my classmates thought my glasses were fake but nope! I don't understand why people can't just accept who they are and who other people are as well. Love and hope for everyone!! 💖💖💖
I meant shame haha
Exactly! It's important to show people that we are truly normal people with the same interests and capabilities as others!!
Whenever you post a video it makes me happy
Omg thankyou molly you are amazing thankyou
Also, I'm very appreciative that you're willing to put yourself out there regardless of the negative feedback. You're helping so many people open up about everyday issues that women should never be ashamed or embarrassed about! Ever.
Being educated on disabilities really opens a door and makes me so grateful for what I have. Also love your hoodie 👀
What a coincidence, I just had to watch that for class last week
Right? Its literally impossible for a single individual to reflect the life experiences and situation of every member of a community
‘Squash that tea’ lol 😂 T-Shirts
i love every kind of video you make molly! you’ve taught me so much about blindness while also offering a community full of love and laughter and acceptance
