I have been microneedling with a Dr Pen M8 about once a month for about 4 years now, sometimes less often depending on my skin health etc. I have never had a problem. My original pen is still going strong. I tried stamping with it as shown by Claudia Glows in one of her videos. That worked well but it was way too time consuming. I tried a combination of the two methods last time and it worked well. I love how my skin looks the day after and I rarely peel. All I put on my skin right after is the Deciem copper peptide. I don't go over 1.5 depth. My skin looks great. I'm sticking with it.

Your surgical scar looks fantastic (and that means it is not noticeable!). Have you done a video on the scar improvement treatment? I have a terrible railroad track scar and wonder if it could be improved with similar treatment.
@@ladysaltine Thank you. I’m so glad I decided to find a dermatologist who felt they could improve my scar. It was an emergency post-op infection 2nd surgery … so the incision was not done as delicately as the original incision. It really bothered me as it looked like I’d been attacked. So silly I know but I feel the scar remodeling treatments help me emotionally close the chapter on this incident. Thank again for watching and wishing you a very happy Sunday.💜

I've had great results from microneedling by my esthetician. It does take time to see results bc at 57 healing and cell turnover is slower. I only get them a few times a year alternating with TCA chemical peels.

I’d rather do lasers & pay medical staff to do. I’ve only tried IPL (which I loved!!) But ya, like you, that’s just based on me & my experiences and feelings 🥰!!

Thanks for your question. Honestly, I have no reason to believe microneedling will improve actual sagging skin or laxity around the nasal labial folds. Over time (multiple sessions) the controlled micro-injuries from microneedling are supposed to improve skin texture and build collagen via the wound healing cascade ... thus improving fine lines ....and perhaps remodel scar tissue, depending on the type and severity of the scar. Hope this helps💜
My medi spa in now offering MN with PRP. I am wondering if it is worth it? I think it is suppose to increase collagen production but like you said, you need to do many treatments. Hmmmm?
I use the Dr. pen with out numbing my face. I start with sterilization of everything and wash my face then I applied a slip gel. I use a stamping method and don’t drag it on my face. After I wash off the gel and use my red light mask . I then finish off with hyaluronic moisturizer. It has helped with sun damage spots.

My skin responds well to microcurrent & dermaplaning & LED but not everyone experiences the same benefits with these skincare tools/devices/modalities. I think after solidifying a skin care routine, micro needling and red light therapy are 2 easy things we can do at home to rejuvenate our skin.
Agreed, at home needling is a joke at any age. I had 3 rpr ones and although the results were great, it lasted maybe one year. The rpr treatments were expensive. I could have done a light laser with better results. I just feel lasers, you get your money's worth. I would only do microneedling at a plastic surgeon's office. Med spa treatments are not as good as going to the plastic surgeon's office.
Hi, thanks for watching and for your question. Prices can range quite a bit depending where you live. My best advice is to find a few licensed medical providers in your area and schedule a consultation. Finding a provider you trust at a price that fits your budget is the key.
I have been thinking of going to a medspa for microneedling with Skinpen only, not RF. I can afford 3 or 4 treatments per year. Wondering if I should space them out equally or do a series every month for 3 months and repeat that series annually. Any thoughts?
@@tracydas2523 I think if you’re doing four treatments - allowing a month or 2 for healing time in between treatments (takes time to build collagen & elastin) that makes a lot of sense … that would take you to about a year. What does the esthetician recommend?

The contraindications from Dr Dray’s video were specifically for individuals with specific issues, not risks for everyone. You spliced together all the scary issues/words without the context in which she put them. I mentioned this in the video you posted yesterday, and you took it down and reposted it without edit. I feel as someone researching microneedling, 90% of your video is very informative and useful, but that last part where you edit/splice Dr. Dray’s video is misleading.

I spliced all the contraindications, precautions Dr. Dray addressed in her video to make a specific point .. it’s imperative people understand the number of contraindications associated with microneedling before jumping in and trying this at home. Yes, microneedling has benefits. However, I think the contraindications are under estimated and was trying to make that point by sharing Andrea’s long list of considerations one needs to take into account. I do see your point that splicing all @drdray’s warnings together might indicate she is against Microneedling all together… which she is not. She just doesn’t recommend home micro needling. I will reach out to her to be sure she’s ok with my edit of her video. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this portion of my video. I take all subscriber feedback seriously.💜
I used to be a big fan of micro needling, and I still do it periodically at home. I mostly use the dr pen M8., and I rarely go over .3 depth. I have different needle heads with different spacing so some are 16 point some are 24 point and some are 36 point. Well I do get initial redness, it's always temporary. And I've never had any lasting problems. I do think it helps with texture and collagen induction, but I feel like the effects are subtle and you have to keep it up. I think the older I get the deeper my problems are, and the more they require aggressive attention! 😩 I think you have to be really careful and know your skin. If you react strongly to stimulation on your skin, and if your skin burns on application of a treatment or a product, I think it should be avoided. I think this was an excellent video. Cynthia and I really appreciate your candor and research.

Microneedling goes not work for everyone because it certainly d is didn't work for me. In fact within days of using Dr. Pen I started to see fuzzy tiny hairs on my face that Dr. Penn and most anti aging Podcasters don't warn their viewers about. So I immediately stopped microneedling. But now I have the unfortunate burden of having to pluck hairs out of my face because I dare not make things worse by shaving!!!
I appreciate you watching and sharing your experience. Thank you for being vulnerable in an effort to help others. Sharing our experiences, both positive and not so wonderful is what my channel is all about. I personally haven't heard about this response to MN so thanks for letting our community know. I honestly can't recommend any medical microneedling beyond cosmetic depth for at home use, not always a popular decision here in the anti-aging community. I am on the conservative side when it comes to using in clinic products at home.

I think PRP works best when you are younger. For those over 50 I don't think it works (in my experience)

I feel as someone researching microneedling, 90% of your video is very informative and useful, but that last part where you edit/splice Dr. Dray’s video is misleading.

I spliced all the contraindications, precautions Dr. Dray addressed in her video to make a specific point .. it’s imperative people understand the number of contraindications associated with microneedling before jumping in and trying this at home.
Yes, microneedling has benefits. However, I think the contraindications are under estimated and was trying to make that point by sharing Andrea’s long list of considerations one needs to take into account.
I do see your point that splicing all @drdray’s warnings together might indicate she is against Microneedling all together… which she is not. She just doesn’t recommend home micro needling.
I will reach out to her to be sure she’s ok with my edit of her video.

I used to be a big fan of micro needling, and I still do it periodically at home. I mostly use the dr pen M8., and I rarely go over .3 depth. I have different needle heads with different spacing so some are 16 point some are 24 point and some are 36 point. Well I do get initial redness, it's always temporary. And I've never had any lasting problems. I do think it helps with texture and collagen induction, but I feel like the effects are subtle and you have to keep it up. I think the older I get the deeper my problems are, and the more they require aggressive attention! 😩
I think you have to be really careful and know your skin. If you react strongly to stimulation on your skin, and if your skin burns on application of a treatment or a product, I think it should be avoided. I think this was an excellent video. Cynthia and I really appreciate your candor and research.
@@pamorama Hi Pam, Thanks for sharing your experience with micro needling. So true, depending on the initial condition of one’s skin & the depth of wrinkles, microneedling may or may not make much of a difference…. As always I appreciate your perspective and your kind comments 💜💜💜.

Microneedling goes not work for everyone because it certainly d is didn't work for me. In fact within days of using Dr. Pen I started to see fuzzy tiny hairs on my face that Dr. Penn and most anti aging Podcasters don't warn their viewers about. So I immediately stopped microneedling. But now I have the unfortunate burden of having to pluck hairs out of my face because I dare not make things worse by shaving!!!

Sharing our experiences, both positive and not so wonderful is what my channel is all about. I personally haven't heard about this response to MN so thanks for letting our community know. I honestly can't recommend any medical microneedling beyond cosmetic depth for at home use, not always a popular decision here in the anti-aging community. I am on the conservative side when it comes to using in clinic products at home.

For how long, all the videos I’ve seen have used it for at least 6 months to a year.
