A very nice hunt. I have been having similar success even in mineralized red dirt. The Hot Rock setting moved to positive really helps bring targets out. The smaller DD23 is certainly excellent. The larger DD28 gives almost as good separation & unmasking and noticeably better raw depth. Reaction speed can be lowered to 3 or even 2 and the Versa is still faster than you can swing. It is very deep at Reaction 2&1. Dual mode is great, the only SMF machine that has it. Keep the Versa videos coming.
Hi, regarding coil DD28, I have buried small coins in my yard. One of them, at 7cm (approximately 2.7 inches), is typically used for tests with rusted nails. In the Park program, the nail masks the coin from 19cm, but with the XP Deus 2 and FMF9" on the 3rd program (sensitive), it does not detect the coin until 17cm. So, in my opinion, Versa and the new software are really good.
👍👍👍 Good hunt Mike. Dual mode is briliant once get used to, also it has got great use on areas where you can’t swing normally - forests, bushes, rocks etc. Once Threshold is maxed in that conditions, you can have coil raised and picking up signals from non-motion as „stop” signs and then reviewing the signal closer to surface. Or more extreme use - when you are looking for big objects or very deep - coil raised above the knees will help you to get signals only from big/deep objects like chests, helmets and other large targets. All the best and happy hunting 👍
Looks like a great improvement Mike and nice to see the dual mode demoed, I've not played with it much yet. Found a Roman last time out with the 2.44 so really looking forward to trying out the 3.7 tomorrow.
cheers mate! Cool finds, and great adventure.. Wish u all the best in future hunt! Cheers from new friends and subscribers from southern Europe! Happy hunting!!
Nice iff, carnt wait to get out with it your settings working well. Brilliant on dual mode how you can mess with sensitivity of all metal , great features not seen on many machines . I believe the vortex can match all these detectors performance , with less settings. No idea how that is possible, but I’m sure we will find out 😉
I can see your 900 sitting in the corner pouting from here because you found a new friend to play with. Might want to take it out to a relic site to make it feel wanted. How does the depth on the Rutus compare to the 900? From your testing it looks like it's unmasking is probably better than the 900. I think Rutus is going to have to contemplate selling here in the US after your videos as I'm sure this is going to dramatically increase interest in this unit.
That almost looks like the Sure Grip on the Rutus Versa handle (that we had on my Equinox 600/800). That Versa firmware has come a long way since you and Calabash first tested it!
The dual mode is very interesting. As a pure relic hunter I'm curious how this machine stacks up to the Deus 2? I have a Manticore and Legend as well but neither are my go to in heavy iron.
Hi, why do you not tighten the coil cable to the shaft? I use rubber clips near the coil to avoid damaging the connection, and I secure it tightly to the shaft to avoid signals from a loose cable in mixed mode. By the way, I do not understand why other detector manufacturers don't offer this feature as an option to choose from. For me, it's like using a metal detector with one eye still closed. Without mixed mode, we lose important information. I use the D2 too, and it's a really good detector, but for me, it's not perfect because it does not have mixed mode. Moreover, while the VERSA appears lighter, it's actually heavier by 0.5kg than the D2.
@@fabiocenti1367my regular sensitivity i use whatever i can 20 ish, for the dual mode sensitivity i leave at 10, threshold volume with headphones on 3-5.
Mine is pretty neutral, i have been using Multi Low and working great. I know on 2.44 W was used by some people for the same reason. I do not have experience with 2.44 but 3.7 is working fine. I have not had a need to use W here in the states.
Now she's firing on all cylinders! Big smiles at Rutus now, which is nice.
Thanks Tim. Completely different machine from 2.44.
Thanks for the great vid and imformation .Glad to see Rutus making a come back. Thanks 👍 for your time and the great hunt.
Thanks Fred!

Thanks Chris, now that i have become accustomed to using dual mode i feel like I’m missing info when i don’t have it. Its a great feature

I really like your videos because I can watch them with subtitles in my favorite language. I am always grateful.

I hope they can start selling here. I do not have the 900 but depth is close (on my soil) to the Manticore and D2.

Thanks Nick, It is the Nox Sure Grip. Slight mod with the Dremel and its a perfect fit.

you should definitely try it (if you can get one) The Dual Mode is great to have when relic hunting.
Wow that is a BIG improvement!!! Killer machine now!!!
Definitely Bill! I really am impressed with it. I like having the info of the dual mode.
Great video! Looks impressive!
Thx NC 👍

Thanks for the info Michael, i have never had an issue of hearing false signals from my cable wire. I agree on the mixed mode, its great info to have.
@@IffySignals If you reduce the SAT to 0, then the detector is really sensitive.
This machine is very quiet in the iron with the setting i have been using. I mention them in the beginning of the video.

Will this machine be available in the US soon?
I don’t think so. Maybe a black market for them is in order haha.
Seems like a great machine in iron! Hopefully it’s available at some point. Thanks 👌🏼
What is the battery life like with the machine?
Looks promising 👍
15-20h. After 7h on headphones, in dual mode and 7-10khz battery icon shows half or above. Tested also in 0 C degree
@@fisheart1829 Thanks for the info.
Yes 👍
Amazing what an update will do, in your opinion does it out perform the Manticore and D2? Is the set up and menu system complicated? Thanks.
Not complicated at all and its right there with them. The dual mode is great.
Great info as always Mike👍
Welcome NZ 👍
A Great thanks👍👍👍👌
Welcome!
Would these settings be good in field mode duel do you think
Yes, should be good.
Are the headphones proprietary or will any Bluetooth headphones work?
Proprietary, you can get the headphones or wireless module.
Thank you!
Is this detector available in the US?
For now you have to order it from the UK dealer, Detectnick's EBay storefront. 12 days shipping to Texas.
Thx for the info on that.
