I was just so shocked - how can you be 65??!! You look so much younger, I would never have guessed that ❤️🙏🏼🥰 I love listening to your wise words and watching you creating so much beauty ❤️ you are an amazing soul, Marion 🙏🏼 thank you for making this world a better place ❤️❤️❤️
Agree with everything you said. Lovely videos, and I really enjoy your chatter, your instructions that are so detailed. Thank you so much, bringing back so many memories of my childhood embroidery!
Dear Marion, You have done it again. Please continue what you call your "chatter". It is what friends do when we get together. We are connecting through your incredible work. I agree that we should use our best China and wear pink whenever we want. Thank you, Marion for just being you. Deborah, Virginia, USA
Absolutely gorgeous! I have some beautiful mauve linen left over from when I sewed a dress and matching bag. I am going to take inspiration from your hydrangea and use the same techniques on my linen piece. Thank you! Your garden is looking so pretty. 😊
Marion, I would watch a video of you cleaning your fridge and enjoy every minute! It's so good to listen to your thoughts. You are a wonderful person. God bless. Ontario, Canada
What an absolutely beautiful video Marion. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. Brought back so many lovely memories and love hearing about yourself as a like minded person it certainly makes me smile. Thankyou for being Marion's World! ❤❤❤😊😊
Marion I love listening to you. I am nearly 65 too Marion and I like to wear what I like. Age definitely gives you more confidence to not care what others think. Beautiful little flowers. So effective.
❤ Marion! You never cease to amaze me with your words, wisdom, knowledge and love you have for everything you do! Each tutorial I have watched of yours has inspired and taught me so much!!! As Always, Thank You!!
I love listening to your stories as you stitch. I totally agree with you to use what you and wear want you want. Enjoy the fine things if you have them! I was surprised to learn that you recently started wearing bold colors. The look so lovely on you as if they've been your style all along. Keep up the great work because I so enjoy your videos.
Enjoy it????? I loved every second of watching your video. Every stitch in your little crazy quilt block was exquisite ! I didn’t want it to end. I was doing a redwork quilt block which I enjoy doing very much. I’m making my granddaughter a wedding quilt, and the redwork blocks are so pretty. But I was watching you make those beautiful hydrangea flowers and leaves, that I let my stitching drop to watch yours. Your colors were so pretty, it made my redwork not look so good. Such a joy to watch you. I know you are busy, but I would love to see new videos everyday! I will just have to rewatch them….which is okay because I’m can’t remember , since I’m 73! Gracious! Thank you so much.
I love your heart! I’m going to start using my Moms old special China! She loved it soooo much and I’m 78 so it’s time to pull it out! The grand daughters haven’t seen interested in it yet….I need to create memories with it so they REMEMBER IT!
Thank you Marion for showcasing your beautiful garden! So many pretty flowers, even the weed flowers are good looking in your garden. And thank you for sharing all your wisdom and techniques. ❤

Marion i love you! After living abroad for 14 years we have returned to the US. I have started slow stitching and my hand at embroidery. Learning as I fo but getting better every day. Your work is amazing! Your voice is calming and you give many suggestions. I would love to be your neighbor and have a cuppa with you and exchange ideas and pointers. God bless you always. Have relatives in England and have visited man times. My husband is from Chile and so many Brits there we adopted "tea time" so try to have proper tea time, table set, tea pots and nice China. I am 72 but I'll tell you you do not look your age. I'll continue watching hoping I keep learning!
Thank you Marion for taking us out in your garden after finish the beatyful embroiderypage. Such lovely Hydrangea flowers you made!🌸 Allmost all the flowers in your garden, I had in mine. Love them all ( and missing them now). It was a little kind of wild garden. The flowers I planted had so many memorys. I made my yongest daughter's bridal bouqet and she wanted forget-me-nots in it ,so I planted them in the garden. After the wedding they come up everywhere and reminds me of here wonderful weddingday.❤ She is in London now by the way for 6 weeks training, at Sunbury Court. Great that you have a sunny day after all rain. Yesterday it was like a summerday here, sat on the balcony and drinking my coffee in the sunshine, but when I look out of my windows today, it's winter again 😱, lots of snow! Perfect day for trying embroderi stumpwork flowers. You have so many good thaughts and I agree with you❣Whish you a lovlely day 🌷🌿🐝 /Ingela
I love forget me nots coming up everywhere.. I never have too many of them! So lovely that they were part of her wedding..🥰 I hope your spring arrives soon 🤞🌿
I’ve been hoarding my Grandmother’s collection of cups and saucers in my China cabinet for years (I’m 70). Last week I decided to donate them to a nice little tea shoppe down the street. It makes me happy because I know they’re going to a good home. ❤️🇨🇦
I'm sure they'll be well used. I did the same with quite a few of mine a few years ago. It's a 50's tea room and they use all the pretty china and proper teapots 🫖
Oh Marion, my brain never sleeps either. I always seem to be dreaming up yet another project. Your thrifted green shirt fabric goes beautifully with the wood you found. I'm so excited to see what you do with it!! I am all for wearing what makes you feel happy and I think it's wonderful that you make good use of your beautiful china. Your stump work is really lovely and this page is so cheerful and fun!🥰 We had a bit of spring snow in central Canada today; definitely a cold day for spring.🌨 We are still waiting for trees to bud and flowers to bloom, so I very much enjoyed watching the bees pollinating your blossoms and flowers. Dandelions are the first food for bees here, but they are considered invasive and are often eliminated with herbicides. I would take a field of wildflowers over a perfect lawn any day and I'm sure the birds and the bees would agree.😄🐦🐝🌸🌼💮
Thank you Jacqueline for your lovely message. I'd definitely have a wild flower garden if I had enough room... I'd have to have it in addition to my roses though.... You must have a short growing season there... 🤔
Lovely pretty flowers, but I don’t expect anything else from you. As always great tutorial with a lovely chat thrown in. The whole panel looks great. I am intrigued as to what you are going to do with the lovely lichen branch and vintage green silk. Look forward to watching you on Sunday. I also loved the tour of the huge variety of spring flowers you have growing in your garden. Such a shame the weather is so wet that we can’t go into the gardens and appreciate these lovely spring delights.
Thank you Marion for another lovely video, so inspiring!I loved looking at the flowers in your garden again. I’m 63, I thought we were close in age. 😊 Specially with our left handed stories of school. Glad it’s stopped raining for you, we’ve reached a record of no rain for six months down here in Perth WA. I’m going to try to make the stump work flowers and bee, you make it look achievable.
It is achievable Helen... Just one little bit at a time. I hope I show that when you break things down into stages you can do all sorts of complicated looking things...
That's so familiar! An artwork demanding to happen. Right now I've got work involving small weaving and wire going on. I just had to. I don't exhibit any more, but art continues! As you know.
I’m amazed at how many flowers you have in bloom already. Beautiful. I actually drifted off to sleep watching you stitching and your soothing voice. Bliss!
Marion thanks so much for this lovely video today. your stitchwork is inspiring! thanks also for your garden update. it is wonderful to see all of your beautiful flowers and lush garden. linda from california
Dear Marion, what a joy to hear you chat while teaching us new stitching techniques. My mid-60s also finds me more self-confident, also using my fine china and silver flatware and I also want to be left in peace to stitch. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and sharing your thoughts. I feel like I've just spent time with an old friend. Sending my best from Oregon U.S.A. 🤍🤍🤍
I've always chatted on when I was filming. It's just it mainly got cut out so I could get the video to a reasonable length. I'm trying to be okay with not having a totally finished project each time. It hopefully saves me time at the editing stage too ☺️
Thanks so much, Marion :) I thought we were about the same age - whippersnapper that I am, I'll be 63 next week! It's not funny just how quickly those last 40 years have disappeared! You have acquired, and mastered, so many skills in your time so far & it is such a privilege to share in your world
@@marionsworld24 Me neither Marion. Inside, I'm still wondering what I'll do when I grow up 😉🤣 Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, bless you xXx
Thank you, I am always inspired by you. You break things down to a level that I feel I could try. I have a habit of looking at the whole and being overwhelmed. But you continue to teach in a way that is accessible. You are a beautiful soul.
You are so right Marion about using things, for years now I’ve had the thought that things are usually made for a purpose and that thing truly comes “Alive” when it gets used!
Hello Marion, I really enjoyed watching your page develop and include so many wonderful techniques that would enhance any piece of stitching. For me, on a personal level, the hydrangeas were lovely. These are my husband’s favourite flowers - and we have many in the garden. However, violets are a bit of a treasure for me. When we bought our last house, one of the stipulations from the then owner was that I looked after her violets as she was moving into sheltered accommodation. She had planted them when she moved in as a new bride many years previously. For over 20 years I did just that. Then my job meant we had to move across country. So, to keep my promise to her, I brought a large clump of the violets with me and have spent another 20 odd years nurturing them in this garden. Each spring we have a wonderful show and I have the opportunity to think back to our old home and the lovely lady who sold it to us. So, I thank you for, yet again, doing a wonderful video that has given me great food for thought about what I want to stitch, but also the memory of some very happy times. Have a great week and, as ever, I will look forward to to your next video.
Wonderful I think as we get older we are no longer worried about what people think about us we don’t need to fit in we can be ourselves. Wear and use everything that brings us happiness is a brilliant mantra. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and ideas ❤
I’m so so glad you are wearing any color and anything you want! It is a privilege to grow to an age as women where we care not what others think! I pity the women who never get to that stage. I had my re-birth of confidence at age 48 (I’m 56 now) and my life has never been better!! And I’m with you on a drab color house…we have art from floor to ceiling and color and pattern everywhere!! Love you, Marion.
Marion you stand out without trying...it is such apart of you that I can't even think of you and your vibrant exciting personality without your color and style.❤ I agree about the "best clothes " to keep for special events...but I now and for quite sometime have treated each day as a "Special Day"...with clothes and China...all the things that I once stored away for a special time. And as you I have thoroughly enjoyed having everyday as special.
Oh.. I wish I could get away with that Susanne.... But I'm usually stitching away for hours at a time to get a project finished. The longest session I did in one go was almost 10 hours when I stitched the Starling portrait last year. I don't think it's possible to post such a thing!! I'm trying to limit the amount I feel I need to get done in one session though, as the editing takes me ages, when I would like to be doing other things instead.... I'll keep trying...
It makes me happy to know you are wearing what you want. A lot of us express ourselves through our hair, make-up or not and what we wear!! Stand Out!!!
Your little stump work flowers are adorable and you do make it look so easy and achievable. You are so right about not saving your best for special occasions, make every day a special occasion I say
Yes, use stuff! If you have antique china, glass, linens, just use them. I'm old enough to be your mom and I use everything I own. Anything I don't use I give away or repurpose. I used to deal in antiques and was always encouraging people to use things, not store them away like holy relics. Go you, Marion!
Working on this stitching page with you is bringing me so much joy Marion. Thank you for the inspiration and for keep me going on this. I get behind a week here and there, but I keep going because I love to embroider and to learn new things with you. Thanks for the lovely chat, you are so right, we need to enjoy the things we have, wear what we like, appreciate nature and do what brings us joy. ❤❤❤
Oooh, almost 65? Wow! It must be all the stitching and creative thinking that make you look way younger! I would not have guessed you’re in your 60s. Thank you for always having good content and sharing heartwarming life’s stories. I chuckled a bit aloud when you were thinking about wearing your best while in the garden or while gardening😂. And yes, to enjoy the beautiful things we have is a sound advice. I agree totally. I think as we advance in age, we become kinder to ourselves. The stitching journal is full of beautiful things and I’m grateful that you take time to share your talents with us. Your garden is full of life now! Here in New Jersey, the tulips and daffodils 🌼 are in bloom and the lilac are starting to open up! Spring is wonderful. It’s been raining hard here too and windy most days. Warm regards, 🌷tess
I very much enjoyed learning how to achieve this 3D effect! And your sentiments on using your "best" dishes for everyday joy resonated with me particularly as I, at age 80, widowed, and being childless, eat from my Wedgewood China every day. Thank you, as always, for all you share with us.
Thank you Marion for your video and company today. I saved the video till today as it is my birthday and I intend to stitch All day. I agree I think age plays a part in his we feel about things. I had a good set of plates etc for 8 settings. I have given half away to a charity who set people up in their own homes. I will never have anymore than 4 for a meal now, let it go. At 66 I have finally started saying no. Hence ,I am stitching all day and stump work is on the menu. Love the garden shots. See you soon.
So beautiful and I love how you encourage us to try, you make it look so easy! Did you know that the Royal School of Needlework have an online stitch library that is amazing? And it’s free! Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills 🥰
Yes, it's such a good resource. I used to go looking when I first had the internet years ago. Not so much these days though. I did always feel I wanted to do their diploma, but it was far too expensive for me. In the end I just do what I do....
YAY!!! Just found you by accident this morning - you’re LEFT-HANDED!!!! Me too & have struggled to learn embroidery from books or videos always featuring right handed teachers…. Now I KNOW I’m going to finally be able to ‘get’ these techniques…. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us… I am off to binge watch your YT videos! Greetings from the rural countryside of New Hampshire (East Coast - New England area) USA… 🧡🧡
Oh Marion, you’re so right about not keeping things for best -at 70 I wear exactly what I like and I no longer keep anything for ‘best’ since my mother died 3 years ago. She would have been horrified at my new-found brighter clothing too!
So very beautiful and a joy to watch (and listen). Totally agree. It is also about self-value and the idea to do yourself something good and treat yourself nicely when you use the good things and make the moment lovely and valuable. Your stiching is beautiful and that page breathtaking! Plus, I love the variety of your garden and that there is a place for wild flowers too.
You are new to me; but, oh my, what a pleasure to meet you! Looking forward to your project with the driftwood and green silk. Fabulous job on today's stitchery! Watching you from the Maritimes in Canada.
You are so right about using your pretty things. Mum had a lovely tea set that she had kept for a while. Then she decided to have afternoon tea on a weekend with us kids. Eventually pieces were broken but we had lots of nice times together.
Again Marion a wonderful video, and what a challenge! I thought the stump work bee too much, but I had a go and I was so pleased with the results. So I will follow your advise and have a go at this weeks challenge. Thank you, thank you. I adore your channel, I have learnt so much and thoroughly enjoy watching and listening to you. Xx
It is amazing to watch your embroidery come to life! I love the hydrangeas flowers and leaves!! Your philosophy of living life and using your treasures is truly inspiring. I find I have been doing the same and enjoying all my life collections. Thank you Marion ❤

Oh I love violets too... The ones in my garden are descendants of ones I gave my Grandma when I was young ☺️🌿
@@marionsworld24 Hello Marion, that is such a lovely story too. I am sure you will enjoy your flowers as much as I will with mine. Have a great week!
Beautiful work Marian, I really enjoy your channel. So many great ideas. A big thankyou😊 Pauline
You're most welcome Pauline ☺️
Wonderful I think as we get older we are no longer worried about what people think about us we don’t need to fit in we can be ourselves. Wear and use everything that brings us happiness is a brilliant mantra. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and ideas ❤
Thank you Pippa
I’m so so glad you are wearing any color and anything you want! It is a privilege to grow to an age as women where we care not what others think! I pity the women who never get to that stage. I had my re-birth of confidence at age 48 (I’m 56 now) and my life has never been better!! And I’m with you on a drab color house…we have art from floor to ceiling and color and pattern everywhere!! Love you, Marion.
Colour and more colour..hurrah!
Beautiful❤
I'm so excited to try this!! ♥
Love all these just the sort of teacher and friend we need 💕
☺️💐
Marion you stand out without trying...it is such apart of you that I can't even think of you and your vibrant exciting personality without your color and style.❤ I agree about the "best clothes " to keep for special events...but I now and for quite sometime have treated each day as a "Special Day"...with clothes and China...all the things that I once stored away for a special time. And as you I have thoroughly enjoyed having everyday as special.
👍💐
Don’t edit the videos I love having you on while I’m sewing on my narrowboat, feels like I’m sewing with a friend 💕💕💕☀️☀️☀️😊
Your embroidery and your garden are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing! ❤
I really loved this video. I'm just starting to enjoy slow stitching and you have great ideas for putting stitches together.
Happy stitching Judy ☺️
It makes me happy to know you are wearing what you want. A lot of us express ourselves through our hair, make-up or not and what we wear!! Stand Out!!!
Have you read Warning by Jenny Joseph?
This technique adds so much dimension. I love these.
Your little stump work flowers are adorable and you do make it look so easy and achievable. You are so right about not saving your best for special occasions, make every day a special occasion I say
Absolutely!
I couldn't agree more... Things are made to be used and appreciated!
Another, so lovely work. So lovely.
Definitely do what brings you joy Cris... In the end we probably don't need as much as we think to be content 💐☺️
I look forward to your videos every week.
Thanks Debi 🧵🪡
Your hydrangeas are so pretty, I’ll have to try this. I really do enjoy watching you stitch. Thank you for sharing.
Such talent I love to watch your videos
So amazing Marion! I can’t wait to try this!! Thank you again and again!!💕Donna
You're welcome Donna ☺️
Fantastic, thank you, Marion!! ❤
What a lovely garden absolutely gorgeous
Warm regards,
🌷tess
I very much enjoyed learning how to achieve this 3D effect! And your sentiments on using your "best" dishes for everyday joy resonated with me particularly as I, at age 80, widowed, and being childless, eat from my Wedgewood China every day. Thank you, as always, for all you share with us.
I have a total picture of you having your dinner on the Wedgewood plates! How wonderful Gaye... ☺️💐
Happy Birthday Carol... 🎂💐 I really hope you enjoyed your stitching day ..🪡🧵
So beautiful and I love how you encourage us to try, you make it look so easy!
I loved this video. Thank you so much for sharing! You are so talented!
Beautiful : )
Hurrah for lefties! Welcome to my channel Maureen 💐
Oh Marion, you’re so right about not keeping things for best -at 70 I wear exactly what I like and I no longer keep anything for ‘best’ since my mother died 3 years ago. She would have been horrified at my new-found brighter clothing too!
I use my time enjoying my things while I can.. clothes included 😊
Always a place for wild flowers...🌿
You are new to me; but, oh my, what a pleasure to meet you! Looking forward to your project with the driftwood and green silk. Fabulous job on today's stitchery! Watching you from the Maritimes in Canada.
Welcome to my channel. I'm happy you've found me and I'm so pleased that you enjoyed watching...
Marion,
Ik hou van je manier van doen. Jezelf zijn. Je werk is schitterend. Prachtig mens🥰🥰
Lieve groet Joke🙋🏻♀️
Thank you so much... That's such a lovely message 💐😊🪡🧵🌿
Personally I believe the secret to your youthful look for your age is............
Rock buns n marmalade etc.
Worked for Paddington bear. 😊
😂
You have an amazing imagination.....I love what you did.........
💐
As always, thank you Marion ❤ we are the same age 🎉
☺️👍
You are so right about using your pretty things. Mum had a lovely tea set that she had kept for a while. Then she decided to have afternoon tea on a weekend with us kids. Eventually pieces were broken but we had lots of nice times together.
Good memories ☺️
Again Marion a wonderful video, and what a challenge! I thought the stump work bee too much, but I had a go and I was so pleased with the results. So I will follow your advise and have a go at this weeks challenge. Thank you, thank you. I adore your channel, I have learnt so much and thoroughly enjoy watching and listening to you. Xx
I'm so happy you stitched the little bee! 🐝 Little pieces of stitching like that can elevate whatever they're added to...
Boa noite meu girassol 🌻 🌻 🌻 adorei seu trabalho muito delicado parabéns mil beijinhos 🌻 💋 🌻 💋 🌻
Sylvia you say the sweetest thing 💐
Just beautiful!! Love that BEE!
🐝
Lovely! Thanks for sharing. ❤👍from Somerset
It is amazing to watch your embroidery come to life! I love the hydrangeas flowers and leaves!! Your philosophy of living life and using your treasures is truly inspiring. I find I have been doing the same and enjoying all my life collections. Thank you Marion ❤
💐
Oh i do so love your videos Marion, you have a veritable haven for the bees in your garden, they are so important. Thank you and I love your journal and I’m going to give those stump work flowers a go 🩷
That's great 🪡🧵😊
When you were sewing the herring bone, your little bee looked like she was about to fly away!
I had to go back to have a look... You're right... She looked like she was about to take flight...🐝
Absolutely beautiful 🥰
Really beautiful Marion xx
