    Just hade a similar problem with a Mercedes e220 sam module car failed nct for fog light symbol staying on dash tuck sam module out and discovered it had green crusty powdery stuff all over the cercord board I gave it to a guy that fixes computers he cleaned it all up I put it back in and everything works fine .and there's 4 sam modules in this car so I'm expecting more problems down the line this module was under the bonnet there's two more in the boot there's was nothing burnt out just covert in mould dust love watching your videos your good at the dionostics I'm working on diggers all my life there getting destroyed now with electronics gone are the days when all you needed was a vicegrips and a hammer now you need a laptop and diagnostic equipment and spend all day looking for a sender the size of your little finger how more complicated can they get.keep the videos coming great to watch👍

    Hi Peter , I had similar problem with a few of them. BSI is very sensitive for any power supply breaks , flat car battery etc , what is causing kind of decoding BSI module itself. I solved the problems by diagnostic computer with the make on L letter in name. There is a function to reflash BSI which is still fitted in the car. This way never failed me, so far.
    Anyway, you do great job, fearless hero of automotive industry 😉

    Quite a head scratcher there Peter, good call on the BSI, also dont worry about booking it in with the dealer. You simply can't have all them factory diag machines / interfaces, they would cost you a fortune. You most likely found the problem and chose the most efficient way to solve it.

      It could possibly have worked out very easy but I was going to have to drive up to collect the bsi & if I couldn’t program it I would have to go there a second time with my tail between my legs 🙂. I know them very well so just thought get this out of my hair & I was crazy busy so didn’t need it to go wrong. Thanks for watching Máté 🙏🙏

    Interesting one here. I don't get into programming new modules either, some of the time I don't get an internet connection anyway. Good seeing your thoughts, it reminds me that I have a partner van with the headlights randomly coming on when it's switched off, I forgot that I need to get back out to that one. Cheers mate

      Programming very much depends on the capabilities of the scantool & sometimes a good run is better than a bad stand 😂😂😂
      I forget about a few too, it can be hard to remember everything. Thanks Matt 🙏

    Been through all this exactly head to toe as you have in your video . . Couldn’t turn hazards off etc, and there came on on thier own after leaving the vehicle or putting battery lead back on after flattening battery numerous times etc, changed the BOM unit under the bonnet etc, yours wasn’t the basic you bought, it was in fact just the switch which the manufacturer told you they supplied as well . . .i sorted mine out after eventually JUST SWAPPING THE ACTUAL SWITCH, hence why comes on on its own, and then cant turn off till take battery positive lead off etc. its the switch that was the culprit, if you has tried that first you wouldn’t have needed the basic they supplied, if you have your old basic i bet you anything it would ve worked with new switch. The dealer wasn’t gonna tell you they had sussed it was just the switch and lose a £600/£700 sale of the basic unit, hence they said they “also” put a new switch on as it had burned out melted etc, hence couldn’t do its job and turn off the indicators. Anyone else with this problem trey the switch first, and it’s 99 per cent gonna cure the same issue . .mine did although i done the switch five days into the headache it caused 😉👀👍

    Interesting,perhaps the hazard light switch was the original fault and the customer trying to turn them off shorted something out and this caused the fault with the BSI,you never get the full story with these types of jobs, you certainly tried,well done

    Hi, I have a dilemma with the electrics on a Peugeot Partner DW8 2004 van. The recent new 096 Battery in it went flat with standing so I charged it over night, when I reconnected it and switch the ignition on, the dash/side lights come on and the main lights come on with engine switched on but they can't be switched via the stalk, so the lights are on all the time when driving, they go off only when I switch the ignition off. Not only that, the digi clock/horn/indicators/windscreen wash wipers/high beam and radio don't work anymore. I've checked all fuses and they are fine. Tried the reset sequence dis/reconnect battery window down switches off wait 3mins etc, but it hasn't cured it. Could it be that the BSI will need resetting technically.? PS; I didn't try it with the key fob though, but the remote/central locking has always worked, could that be the reason, maybe? Any precious info appreciated, hope this info helps someone else.. thanks

      @kennedysgarage3281  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David, it sounds like the BSI box has failed. The BSI controls everything you’re have issues with & the fault is often triggered by a battery going flat 😬😬😬
      Sorry for being the bearer of bad news 🙏🙏👍

      @@kennedysgarage3281 Hi again Peter, but what I don't understand is on the old (026) weaker battery I was using kept going flat and was not pushing out enough voltage, I used to remove it /recharge and place back on many occasions and it didn't affect anything, everything always worked ok!
      Been thinking also to be a relay that blew to that circuit due to an overpowered battery surge?.. I will test any relays I find to see if there's a dud one and might have to send the BSI off to be fixed in the end as I've done so much work to the vehicle. 🐹 (Thanks for your kind advice has given me a bit more knowledge/courage to this problem^^🐱

      @@kennedysgarage3281 I think the brake lights are controlled through the junction box in the driver's footwell which also has a water ingress problem (I believe caused by the washer bottle hosing passing through/ near it - although this might only be applicable to the estates - not sure)
