Most attacks that have happened have happened on people irrespective of caste. In fact Daily Star has reported a huge buildup of Matua refugees in the border. 1000 or so people trying to cross the border and not willing to go back alleging threats (I am quoting from Daily Star here). In 2001 when BNP came to power, India saw a huge influx of refugees in Assam and West Bengal. It was a very shocking incident and the government of then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was very surprised by those incidents. It further got complicated by the government of those days under BNP backing ULFA very enthusiastically. I think Deep Halder wanted to understand BNP's position vis-a-vis the legacy of the relationship.

In an interview she made a serious allegation against India, specifically against Mumbai Air traffic control room. As per her claim Mumbai ATC did not allow an emergency landing at Mumbai , asked by a flight in which a Bangladeshi passenger got sick. The reason for refusal was the religion of that Bangladeshi passenger(S/he was Muslim). Ask her to furnish the proof.

A pertinent question to ask the Barrister would've been why Bangladeshi Hindus largely see their political calling and representation only in the Awami League. Deep Halder (who is interviewing Ms Farhana) in his book on Hindus in Bangladesh found out that AL has stolen 51% of minority land, 48% of the land stolen by BNP misusing the Vested Property Act (VPA). So nobody is saying what you are trying to say, Unfortunately, the mass migration of Matuas and generally Namosudros or any Bengali Hindu communities along with illegal immigration in general has made us wary of any sudden change in Bangladesh. Bengalis, Assamese, Garos, Khasis, Tripuris, Nagas everybody has been wary and tired of periods of instability in Bangladesh and the mass migration that comes in. Somehow during the AL period, we thought that Bangladesh was becoming economically strong and stable enough to not only end up not in another crisis but also transform itself into a formidable country. But clearly we all were wrong.

@@absdur6320 My point is that most Indians are aware of the excesses. Deep Halder (the journalist here) has been writing about it for quite some time. Most attacks that have happened have happened on people irrespective of caste. In fact Daily Star has reported a huge buildup of Matua refugees in the border. 1000 or so people trying to cross the border and not willing to go back alleging threats (I am quoting from Daily Star here).
In 2001 when BNP came to power, India saw a huge influx of refugees in Assam and West Bengal. It was a very shocking incident and the government of then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was very surprised by those incidents. It further got complicated by the government of those days under BNP backing ULFA very enthusiastically. I think Deep Halder wanted to understand BNP's position vis-a-vis the legacy of the relationship.
