Naturalist role gets slept on. I agree it’s a slower and less profitable role for newbies but if you’re levelled up a bit and especially if you’re combining it with other roles it’s GREAT. Definitely recommend doing it alongside collector or bounty hunter.
I agree, I only play Naturalist, Collector, and Bounty these days especially because the Legendary Bounties are 2X. I do the Etta Doyle bounty then I collect all 4 sets of the Cards but while I am doing that I am also getting samples and also trying to complete the book. Today alone I completed a few animals 100% without really trying to
I'm up in the 400s rank-wise, but I still love roaming around, hunting and collecting. There is a very soothing rhythm to it all. I haven't even completed all of the bounty hunter legendries and such, and I imagine I haven't seen a lot of stranger missions, so I always have more things to do when I get an urge.
I've spent a week on the game and I'm at the point where I'm searching for hacks online because grinding for gold to get a fucking role is the most bullshit mechanic ever created. I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE ROLES FFS! But to do so I need to spend the rest of the entire life grinding for gold bars at 0.1 gold per event.
Ok bub, relax. Here’s a good exploit people have been using. It’s called patience. No really. Wait outside the turn in location to complete missions until the last 60 seconds of the time limit. You get more money and more importantly, gold. When you get to an area to turn in, let’s say you have 15 minutes. Watch a 5 minute video. Move your character so you don’t get kicked, then with your last bit of time: Watch videos until under 60 seconds, take a bathroom break, heck I even made spaghetti start to finish once within time.
First role for a new player who does not want to invest money should always be bounty hunter because it earns you gold which means you now have an easier time getting every other role.
For the trader if you shoot a perfect deer and it starts to bleed out just wait about 30 seconds to a minute for it to die. otherwise you'll damage the pelt if you finish it off. You might get bad honour but if you care about that just brush your horse 🤷♂️
You could finish them with a Mercy Kill, but the only way to unlock that ability is to cavort with the deranged Disney princess and her furry woodland creatures, and that's not worth it.
If you want to sell anything in a solo lobby and you are in ps4 you can go to LAN cable settings, customized, and change the MTU from 1500 to 800, this puts you in a solo lobby in gta and red dead, it’s pretty useful. Edit: if I didn’t explain it we’ll search how to be in a solo public session in gta in ps4 (or in your device)

The biggest difference in horses is handling. Superior handling is easily the best, racing is better than standard. I disagree about long distance deliveries. They are worth $125 more than local deliveries and take about 12 minutes to complete. I only get attacked occassionally, like once in 15 deliveries, and when that happens if you log out you can retry the delivery. That costs you about 12 minutes of time for an extra $125 and only happens now and then.

Really good video and very informative. I have been playing since beta and didn't learn about resetting the awards until last year when I watched one of your videos. I went through and immediately reset all of the ones that needed to be reset and earned something like 30 gold bars. It was great.
My first role was Moonshiner. When I was around level 30 some random players invited me to posse and they've completed trader delivery. Later I realized that I can buy Moonshiner role because these players completed delivery with me in their posse.

I'm currently at lvl 44. Started playing in December when it was on sale. I adore this game despite not having more content or any new bells and whistles. I play to relax and roleplay with my horse. My current goal is to make enough money to buy nice outfits, another horse that's brave and tanky and just explore. I've unlocked all roles and I want to max them out. Bounty hunter is hard. I don't know what I'm doing and I lose my bounties. Maxed out Trader role without a hunting wagon. ( Have one now but no point lol ) Currently enjoying Collector role Moonshiner is ok.
Hi!! For bounty hunting once you get them you can knock them out! Hogtie them and kick them until you get the 'knockout' XP bonus! Don't hit them after that cause they can die!!
@@sean7940 I reckon for someone who’s new to the game and has never known dailies before they were so radically nerfed, they still feel like something worth logging on for on a daily basis in order to be able to buy the next role. As for me, even though I’ve been playing since beta (with some larger breaks), the dailies are still the thing I do most when I play, just because they are the most meditative (to quote OnlyPVPCat here) thing to do in the game. But I don’t feel compelled to commit to a 28+ day streak any more like I used to. I feel like I have hoarded enough gold for the next 15 updates by now anyway

Your final points are wonderful about just enjoying the game and it being meditative. Going out and hunting is something that helps me unwind from my work day. It's not incredibly profitable at all. I just enjoy being in an area with my horse and checking stuff out.

I started the game like 3 weaks ago ... without knowing this stuff but I did almost all things recommended here in terms of first rule selection and money investments into equipment, now on LvL 101 still can not use dead eye ... playing without it hehe. And I like the end of your video that most important is the fun from game play ... I am playing it just for relax on PC and sometimes running to ppl which are spoiling fun to others with use of cheats which is sad but now I am trying to avoid such ppl and servers so it is better.

i absolutley advise to do the long distance deliveriers even as a beginner. You can do it easily in a solo lobby and as a side effect there will spawn many legendary animals if you have leveled up the naturalist role.
Not anymore you can’t. I tried my first distant delivery and got destroyed by ONE player who used ONE fire bottle. Fire bottles are op and will insta-fail you the delivery.

I've only done two long deliveries and got attacked both times.
_Every_ long distance run I have tried ends with a player attack. Even if I wreck the Small Wagon and carry the goods on my fastest horse.
I'm going long distance deliveries in a private-public lobby. Every 4 hours I get an effortless $1250 ($250 bonus for long distance!)

If you have bad honor you get more rings and necklaces off npcs. These rings and necklaces can make you a ton of money when you sell them all at once.

@@sean7940 I reckon for someone who’s new to the game and has never known dailies before they were so radically nerfed, they still feel like something worth logging on for on a daily basis in order to be able to buy the next role. As for me, even though I’ve been playing since beta (with some larger breaks), the dailies are still the thing I do most when I play, just because they are the most meditative (to quote OnlyPVPCat here) thing to do in the game. But I don’t feel compelled to commit to a 28+ day streak any more like I used to. I feel like I have hoarded enough gold for the next 15 updates by now anyway

Your final points are wonderful about just enjoying the game and it being meditative. Going out and hunting is something that helps me unwind from my work day. It's not incredibly profitable at all. I just enjoy being in an area with my horse and checking stuff out.

I like your sense of humor ... it adds up to the good information value of your videos. I started the game like 3 weaks ago ... without knowing this stuff but I did almost all things recommended here in terms of first rule selection and money investments into equipment, now on LvL 101 still can not use dead eye ... playing without it hehe. And I like the end of your video that most important is the fun from game play ... I am playing it just for relax on PC and sometimes running to ppl which are spoiling fun to others with use of cheats which is sad but now I am trying to avoid such ppl and servers so it is better.

i absolutley advise to do the long distance deliveriers even as a beginner. You can do it easily in a solo lobby and as a side effect there will spawn many legendary animals if you have leveled up the naturalist role.
Not anymore you can’t. I tried my first distant delivery and got destroyed by ONE player who used ONE fire bottle. Fire bottles are op and will insta-fail you the delivery.
on my xbox i was around level 50 and had a decent method for money. completely forgot it now and i’m getting red dead tomorrow for my ps5. thanks for the tips

no if u spend 30 min u get 0.48 but if u spend 3 min in each task and complete 10 tasks, which is the same time 30 min u will get 0.8 nuggets
