What I eat in a Weekend | vegan, realistic, non restrictive

  • Here is a peek into some of the meals I ate this weekend, just an example of what makes my body feel good! I mostly crave savory veggie and nutrient dense meals over sweet ones. These are just ideas, always listen to your own bodies guidance first!
    I have been meditating deeper before and after every meal, taking deep breaths into my tummy and checking in with my energetic state before eating, Also continuing to bring awareness to what things digest easiest in my body. A lot of days I eat really simple whole foods but every now and then I crave nostalgic meals too! Allowing myself to enjoy foods I crave is definitely an important part of my healing right now while making my body still feels good after.

    Recently i have been tempted to relapse into an ED but after watching this i feel okay..i dont have to go back to an irrational life style and i dont have to make my body a certain way to be happy

However it’s the video content like these that make me feel conflicted because she reminds me to be more mindful, be kind and partake in practices to help heal myself but then they also trigger my need to constantly compare myself to other and make me feel as if I still to be like them and look like them and do what they do and no matter what I’ll never be and beautiful as some of these people

      Personally In my journey I have come to realize that the more empathy, forgiveness, love and gratitude I show my own body, the more my body loves me back and makes me feel better. Glad you are working on healing ♥️

    One thing I've learned watching Hitomi's videos is to GET YO FIBER. Swiss chard, kale, lettuce, spinach, zucchini, artichoke, squash, walnuts, cashews, almonds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, cauliflower, brocolli, bok choy, lima beans, black beans, PHEW. All great source and typically digested well by those with IBS, SIBO, GERD. If you can grow these EVEN BETTER. Love to ya'll

    I just found out I have an ED and your videos have been a safe space for me for years.     Hitomi your videos are so helpful to me. I’ve been really struggling with orthorexia, bingeing and purging, and obsessive calorie counting. I just want to get to this place where I allow myself to eat what feels good and nourishing.     I really love that, at least from what it appears, everyone in your household is supportive of you being a vegan! I’m not sure if everyone you live with us vegan but I’ve been experimenting with vegan recipes and my family can be super judgmental of the food I make. I’ve never known how to cook like at all and I don’t really enjoy cooking meat so it’s exciting to learn these recipes and grow my confidence, I just pray that one day I have roomies like you!!

    Your recipes always help me visualize how I can be vegan one day. I’m already really creative and balanced with my view of food but you introduce more to me! Like liquid aminos. Ugh love it! My biggest problem with being vegan is random intense burger cravings and under-eating protein.

    I love to make salat dressings with tahini too. I usually just add a little bit of mustard, mix it with a bit of water, add some sesame oil, salt, pepper and it's delicious!

    In just this 1 video you have included so many cool, delicious, and healthy meal ideas - thank you! BTW, yeah, those waffle makers are very cool. I sometimes include oats, raisins, and bananas into the mix for added energy/nutrition before a morning bike ride, and the berries on top are awesome (plus pure maple syrup, honey, or a fruit spread/jam if you prefer). *shaka*

    I agree about quesadilla's being comfort food! When I first moved to San Diego for college, I got food poisoning from a dining hall, and the first thing that I could eat after days of feeling awful was a warm, cheese quesadilla :)

    Everything looks tasty and I admire you educating people about mindful eating. How ever in the main stream who has time to make that type of food and just sit and be? Reality is women with children can just barely get out the door and then work. I would do a lot of the food prep ahead.

    Hitomi, I love that you always have such a beautiful aesthetic but that you don’t stress too much about getting messy (baby powder, dirt, etc.). I work on a farm right now, I always have dirt under my nails. It wouldn’t make any sense for me to get a manicure or nails like a lot of the other content creators on TH-cam. So. Yeah.lol Thanks for being on here and making me and my dirt covered hands feel less weird/unacceptable 😅
