People have the wrong idea about what a sketch book is. A sketch book is supposed to be messy and it can even be incomplete, cause it could be a specific book for a specific idea. You need to stop appologising for your book, cause its so, so, so beautiful and art is art, even the pages you dont like, someones going to see it as art and thats the point. The ones who create beatifuil sketchbooks, are normaly going to sell them or show case them somewhere, so thats why they are,' pretty.' those are generally called art collections to. But sketchbooks are supposed to be used for experimenting, until you come out with a finale piece or concept, hense why its called sketch book lol. But your art is soooooo stunning im in love. This is why im now trying to be an artist, cause i love all the inspiration im getting on TH-cam. ❤
Aw, I couldn’t have said it better myself! Your thoughts are beautiful! 🥰 I’m super happy to hear that you’re starting to create your own art as well!! 🎉👏 I hope you have heaps and heaps of fun on your creative journey! 💕
Don’t be so hard on yourself! It’s a beautiful sketchbook and a great example of what a sketchbook should be - trying new things, practicing, and real! Each page should not be the perfect aesthetic. It’s unrealistic and an impossible standard. Thank you for keeping it real, and I hope you can accomplish 12 sketchbooks this year!
Hi! I just wanted to tell you that you totally inspired me today!! Whales are my favorite animals and your sketches inspired me to incorporate some doodles on my own journal. It's been a while since I've drawn anything since I stopped many years ago, but just the way you use colours is so inspiring and beautiful I had to try it out!! Just wanted to say thank you and I really can't wait to see more of your sketches!!
I am so happy to read your comment and that my work inspired you to be creative again 💕 I was actually having a bit of a down day critiquing myself too much so reading this made me feel much much better again. 🥰 I'm super happy we can motivated each other! Hope you have lots of fun creating again!
I love your art style! The looseness of it sure takes the pressure off for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing, even though you didn't think it was a pretty sketchbook - I politely disagree, it's beautiful.
I love the spread (and your thoughts about) remembering your childhood. I am not a "sketchbook" person either, per se (and find it even more daunting to be one in this age of digital "perfection curating"), but your challenge of filling one per month really appeals to me. I must muse on this. Thank you for the inspiring thoughts.
Aww I am super super happy that I was able to inspire you in any way! This is exactly what I want to achieve with my channel 🥰 I hope you are able to create lots of nice art after this!
Oh my goodness! I love seeing this sketchbook! The playfulness makes it feel so alive :D and super relatable ^-^ I love the colours and how playful they are.
This sketchbook is very pretty and aesthetically pleasing 😌 it feels nostalgic and I love your use of color, your drawings remind me of curious George and Clifford!
Wow, one sketchbook per month?! That's incredible. Very pretty sketchbook, I love how loose every page is! And the sketches of the big trees and the doggies are so good ❤
I do some bad drawings on purpose when I start a sketchbook to not feel the pressure to make it “pretty”. Then I don’t mind filling it with exercises 🫣💕
Hi Marta! From what I've seen so far, your sketchbooks are great, in general, I've noticed no artist (me included!) really likes their sketchbooks or finds them aesthetic, maybe we like a few pages but not the whole thing, I think its just our own self-critic, cause honestly, I find yours both aesthetic & pretty consistent! I think all this experimenting your doing is really awesome 💙
Thank you for these words, I hadn’t thought of that but maybe you’re right! We are our own hashes critics 🥲 I’m still going on though and having lots of fun experimenting more 🤭⭐️
@@MartaTaylor I thought it will make you feel less alone in your sketchbook journey, I know it did for me. Even in the prettiest of sketchbook tours I've seen, the artists will say they're not good at keeping a pretty sketchbook! 🙈 Glad to hear you're having fun, that's the point, right? 😊
I love how real you are in showing your work, even the imperfect bits, which I find really refreshing as an art novice as i'm nowhere near being able to do asthetic sketchbook pages. There's so much here i love but the one that really caught my eye was the cute Red Panda doodle . Can't wait to see more of your work 😊 P.s. The Mop Dog (loved the colours you used btw) often refers to a Hungarian breed called a Komondor (There's also a similar Hungarian breed smaller in size called a Puli).
I understand how you feel! I wish there were more messy sketchbooks shown out there… 😊 and yes!! Thank you for telling me the dog breed! I needed to know it 😂👏
@@MartaTaylor ya! Yesterday you inspired me to also do that so when I saw one of my pages that was small covered up drawing or a page that a skipped, I just drew something, no reference and no trying to perfect it! It felt amazing.
awww yay!!! This makes me so happy 🥰 I hope you keep feeling inspired! I've got just a few pages to finish in my current sketchbook so hopefully soon I'll give you a new tour 😊@@-MansBestFriend
Well this is a fun sketch book tour. I can see how a lot of these sweet drawings end up in children’s books. I have a question -what kind of crayons are you using that are so vibrant and smooth, and what kind of paper is in your sketchbook? (I know…that’s 2 questions😏.
Pleased to have found your TH-cam channel. Your artwork is so pretty. I’m hoping to start my TH-cam journey soon too, and I’m working on a children’s book idea too. Love what you are doing! ❤Lou xxx
Thank you so much for sharing! I really enjoyed this sketchbook and the openness, as someone on my own youtube journey with dreams of writing and illustrating it was so nice to see someone else! I look forward to more, definitely going to check out your work ❤ -Shaina
Holaa, soy nueva suscriptora, me encantan tus videos , y amo demasiado tus sketchbooks, feliz de estar aquí y ver tu arte , es precioso. saludos desde Chile
I wish you didn't say that things are bad! I totally think specific critique about what you don't like is useful, but honestly I like some of the messier and sketchier stuff. It's also interesting to find things that you DO like about the art that you don't like! Also I can see the furry little peach influence 🍑 do you have other artists who influence your style? :~)
You are totally right! We can be our worse critics sometimes… 🥲 I liked how FLP played with negative space backgrounds so I gave it a go 😊 I do love Rousseau since a girl, we had one of his paintings in our house, but I grew up drawing manga from Inu Yasha 🤭🤭

The freedom in your book is brilliant. Exactly what a sketchbook should be ❤
Really? Thank you for your support 😊💕

Hello Marta! Loved the tour. What sketchbook are you using?
Thank you! I’m using the royal talens mix media A4 sketchbook 😊 it’s good for many mix media’s, but if you use a lot of water it’s not the best…
Love it!❤ what sketchbook and watercolor did u use?
