Love this idea. I think the flow state, free play, intuitive, etc kinda art sessions always feel the best. The "end product" often surprises the artist, and even helps us learn new techniques and skills we might not have 💚 The art you made is beautiful 🐯🌱🐯
Thank you! I’m glad it inspired you 😊 it’s actually been a while since this painting now, maybe I should do another one soon to let loose again 😉💛
This is so wonderful, I’m so glad to have found this today. The cardboard not canvas, the idea that keeps nudging until it is freed from your head, precious supplies and the creative joy that finally shuts up that negative voice - so great! Freeing practice especially out of your normal medium always brings freshness back to your ‘ regular’ style.
You are so right!! It’s been a while now since this painting, I think I should do another one soon to let loose again 😉
The collages that you produced were impressive, you should definitely continue with this art medium.
It’ll be nice to give it another try 😊
Great video and super helpful...thanks😊
I’m glad you found it helpful 😉
I never really liked his art as a kid. That bear gave me anxiety.
Oh, no! 🫣😊 sometimes it happens I suppose…
@@MartaTaylor not to diminish his talent in any way clearly a lot of people loved his style the great thing about art is there’s something for everyone.
@@rachelb1119 not diminishing at all! Everyone has different tastes, and if it scared you as a kid, well… there’s not much you can do about it now… 😅😉
As a collage artist myself, I encourage you to keep making collages! You have a knack for it. ✌️
I will!!! It was really fun and different from my usual, with more practice I think it can be really fun
this really helped me! i was going about in making my dummy and I am so glad I came across your video, it just made the process more efficient and easier!!! thank you!
Seems like perfect timing then 😉 I’m glad I could help!
Love how you broke down the process into easy steps. Your dummy book is adorable, and I'm inspired to try making my own!🫶🏾👍🏾🤗and your studio looks so stunning 🤍🤍New subscriber here
Aww I’m so happy you’re inspired to make your own! 😊💕 that’s all I hoped for with this video!
Ive just 'found' you on TH-cam. What a great find! I love your colour choices-so playful. I'm trying to loosen up my own rather tight art style, (even when I'm just playing) so your style is great inspiration. Thank you
Thank you! I feel like I need to loosen up some more, too. I guess we have to let go of the idea of making “good art” all the time… 😊
This was fun and inspiring! So nice to see someone young enjoying themselves being creative! One thing, and maybe it's just because I'm an old crank 😂your music is beautiful, but loud. It drowns you out at times. We want to hear what you're saying because it's important. Keep up the good work!
This was helpful, thank you Susan 😊 I’m new at TH-cam and editing videos so I’m learning on the way 😉 I’m glad you liked the video!
Ok I read it wrong, I thought the title said Make a picture book, you Dummy 😂😂😂
Yeah loved it! Great idea! I some times do it but not always. I mostly join my sketched pages together, well that's almost the same thing, to have a glimps on how the picture book will be in real size.
I think what you do will work well also so you can see how your story flows 😊
This was very useful!
I’m glad! 😌
You have really blessed us this week with numerous videos. Thank you 🙏🏼 😊
Thanks for watching them 😊 I’m enjoying the community here on TH-cam, everyone is very nice and encouraging 😉
I really appreciate this walk through. You gave an entire tutorial for free. Many many thanks.
You’re most welcome! 🤗 I hope it’s useful to you!
Thank you so much❤❤❤it's beautiful n very helpful ...grateful 😊 subscribed 😊
I’m glad you found it interesting and helpful! 😊
Interesting experience, I suppose! 😊
It was!! It was really fun to try someone else’s routine 😊
I love it ❤❤
Thank you! ☺️
I don't think we can all agree that you're not a collage artist! I loved what you came up with, and with every art form, practice makes perfect! You can't expect to be amazing the first time you try, and I'm sure having a bit of a collection of paper would help, and is the kind of thing you grow over time. I thought the snail was particularly cute!
Thank you! I agree, with practice you learn more 😊 it was really fun getting out of my comfort zone and playing with some other techniques 😉
Loving the holey leaves…great idea❤️❤️❤️
Yess thanks! The snail ate the leaves 😉
The collage looks like so much fun. I'm going to try it myself. Thanks for the video!
I'm happy to hear I could inspire you to try it out, too! 😊
This was really refreshing to watch. Glad I discovered you 🍓(subscribed and followed you on ig!)
Aww I'm glad 😊
A beautiful space!
Thank you! 😊
Aw, I thought your collages turned out so lovely and they have so much charm to them! But I understand the feeling of impatience, I like to just make things and not have to get all fiddly with cutting and pasting things, too😂but it’s always good to try new things and broaden our minds, right? This was such an interesting video topic and I enjoyed it, and I’m new here😅just subbed!❤
I couldn’t have said it better myself 😊 even though I don’t think it will be my art form long term, it was really fun to do something different 😉
Loved this video! I have a similar routine, up early, walk the pup, creative work... Thanks for sharing!
Waking the dog in the morning helps me get in a creative mood for the day 😊
This was so beautiful to watch as I wrote a children’s series got it edited but I’ve been wooing and awing about the creative parts hence it’s never been published yet 😂😂😂 I’m a mess in that department 😫
Hahaha that’s ok! Slowly does it sometimes 😉 I do hope you manage to publish it one day

Thank you! 😊

You weren't terrible at all at collage! I loved your creations, especially the little holes you punched in the leaves - that was adorable. There's not a wrong or right way to do collage, your results are just colored by your expectations and comparisons. You can also do collage however it suits you; I combine it with regular painting/illustration. I'll paint or illustrate some flowers and collage on some leaves or maybe centers to the flowers or a vase. Or add in different little pieces in a landscape, etc. Anyway, you're far from terrible. 😀
That sounds fun! I’ll probably give it another go with more paper prepared 😉
Loved your collages. Fun to see u try something out of your comfort zone. Experimentation always guides inspiration.
That’s true!! 😊
Hello! I’m a new subscriber and new to making picture books! Both writing and illustrating. It would be nice see you use collage in your sketchbooks.
Hi there! so happy to meet another fellow picture book creator 😊 I'd love to do more collage and practise, it was quite relaxing (even if I'm terrible at it 😂)
You draw children so well! Also trees, I love how colorful they are!
Thank you! I’m actually really liking my trees lately, too ☺️
This was fun to watch!
I’m happy to hear it! I was thinking of trying different creative’s routines if this one is liked 😊
i agree with others, your collage pieces were lovely, and with more ‘practice’ it would match your expectations! thank you
@@garetcousins6302 definitely! It was quite relaxing, I’ll have lots of different papers and textures ready for next time 😊
Nice video! Your collage pieces are great! 💚💚💚
Thank you for watching! ☺️
I loved your collage piece.
Thank you! I’m willing to give it another go with more paper prepped 😂
Congratulation for yor estudio❤
Thank you! 😊
Missed your videos 😊 What an awesome space!
Thank you!!! I was occupied a few months with life things… but I’m happy to start creating videos again! ☺️
You’re such an inspiration! And ur studio is literally stunning!❤ good luck
@@angeltee8198 thank you!!! We still want to finish decorating, we’re thinking about an artist wall with lots of artwork we love… 🥰
Love your 'bad art'.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🫣💕 thank you!!! It was really fun to paint!
Thats extremly cute❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!! 😊
The"bad art" isn't bad i like it
Aww thank you! I just see the fun I had with it 😊💛
Those tigers are so cute! Thanks for sharing, even though it wasn't perfect. Makes me want to try watercolors again, once I unpack them after moving 🤔
Oh, sounds wonderful! I hope you do find time to paint with your watercolours 😊👏
