  • Hey everyone / Salut à tous!!
Full tutorial (better music) • 'Aquatic Bloom III' Fu...
Join me on a 4 part TH-cam tutorial journey on how I made the ‘Aquatic Bloom’ polymer clay bracelet cuff. Beautiful yet very durable; does not require a clasp, and will not loosen and fall off your wrist. I will show you my new cuff base technique; we will make a handmade stamp for the Mokume Gane bubbles; we will make our plants & creatures with the magic of Mica Shift, and lastly create a unique veneer, assemble and finish your one of a kind jewellery art.
In this video we are making the bracelet base for ‘Aquatic Bloom II’. I strengthen the base by adding resin between the layers of clay. The cuff holds its shape and there’s no need for a clasp. The cuff blank can be used over & over.
    Materials you will need:
Large bracelet cuff base (49mm raw brass)
    Pasta machine (Optional but recommended)
Clay for the cuff base rolled out on the 3rd thickest setting
    Translucent liquid clay
    Tissue blade
    Fine needle
    Rubbing alcohol
    UV Resin and UV lamp
Part 1: Build the cuff base with my new hidden resin technique.

You are a genius, there’s not one thing I can heckle you on in this tutorial it’s fabulous,. You’re going to have a little controversy with people thinking that you can’t bake resin. But at clay temperatures are you most certainly can. The issue has always been what it looks like, but seeing how you’re not seeing it trapped between the layers of the clay for strength is just a fantastic idea BRAVO !!!!!!

Thanks Jan! And it's actually thanks to you I came up with the idea. I challenged myself to not resin this bracelet and wanted to buff it instead, and I didn't want to add a clasp so I came up with this technique! Ya, I'll pin a comment about the resin above 🥰

Omg! You’re a genius. I’ve been making earrings for the little over a year and as a painter trying to become more creative with my designs, people are asking me about bracelets, and I thought I always had to buy blanks with an edge to put pieces of clay around them, never thought of actually using one blank as a base that I can use over and over again my eyes are open wider thank you! 😮

Great tutorial. I also use a brass blank for bracelets. Although, mine is not as wide as yours and mine is convex as opposed to concave. But this is great info. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I haven't tried this on a narrower cuff, but please let me know if you try this technique and share a photo on my KeiPfr FB page (not a group) 🥰

Generally high temperature uv resins have a temperature resistance of 260°C/500°F and polymer clay cures at a maximum of 150°C/300°F, so the oven heat will not affect the cured resin.
The resin I use is SANAAA and it is not a 3-D printing UV resin. I did my own testing. Baking CURED UV resin on polymer clay made the resin less rigid but regained its original shape and hardness as it cooled. Note, I don’t bake above 140°.
UV resins are considered safe after complete curing. UV resins are harmful in liquid state and give off harmful fumes during the initial curing under a UV lamp. Please wear gloves and use a mask if not in a well ventilated space.
But as a disclaimer you can test your own brands of resin.
Do NOT put uncured UV resin in the oven.

    Not a very sharp blade!

It was a brand new blade. I was being careful not to cut into the baked layer underneath.
