Hey guys!! I’m going to try to post on Thursdays too! People ask about hyperpigmentation all the time and I worked really hard to clear my skin of it after I had a baby. It’s a process! Be gentle to your skin. The hyperpigmentation takes years to form, so don’t try to get rid of it quickly.
Thank you so much Susan for this video !! I am going to have a series of 4 depigmentation peels (Dermaceutic's mela peel forte) at my derm's , hopefully this will get rid of my stubborn pigmentation and Melasma. I am scared of using retinol as it increases photo sensitivity , my skin being already very sensitive to the sun .. love love your videos ! xxx
Thank you for this video I’m starting to get hyperpigmentation now in my early 40’s and I had no idea what to do ...I’ve always had clear skin and it’s really been affecting my self esteem .thank you
Skin turnover is 28-40 days. Depending on how deep the hyperpigmentation is in your dermal layers will depend on how long it takes to come to the surface. Susan, you should also explain the difference between chemical & physical spf sunscreens. Not all sunscreen is "created equal". Just because your make up or moisturizer has spf, doesn't mean you should skip actual spf sunscreen application & reapplication throughout the day & sun exposure you receive.
I never realized that my acne leaving dark spots was hyperpigmentation! I always assumed it was part of the healing process and was scarring from it! After I started using a Retin-a cream though I did notice a significant decrease in dark spots when I do get breakouts, and i've even noticed some very fine lines i have become less noticeable!
I just would like to share...Differin gel gave me so many cystic acnes, big ones on top of each other. I continued using it for a 1.5 months coz the label says that it "can" cause breakouts at first before it clears out. But no way, never again. I used the full line up of Khiel's ( blue cleanser, Calendula toner, Vitamin C serum, breakout control blemish treatment, gel moisturizer and sunscreen) as suggested by the salesperson and my pimples subsided only after 2 months. Now I only have hyperpigmentation but it is slowly clearing up. It has been 4 months since I started using Khiel's products. Since the vitamin C serum is so expensive, I did the DIY Vitamin C serum I saw on youtube which, I feel, works wonders, too.
Omg thank you for making the comment about breastfeeding! I would have never thought to see if a face product was safe to use wile breastfeeding! So happy you said that.
I don’t want to use hydro-quinone at all, I think I would go for the one that doesn’t contain it, I’m not really conscious about my skin conditions, I don’t even wear makeup to cover my problems so I don’t mind the time it takes to show results...but I can get how the one with hydro-quinone could work, I’m just spooked by hydro-quinone, period!!! Love this video, I will be incorporating 99 % of the skin tips in this video, very educational.... ❤️❤️❤️ all the way from 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦!
This is really informative, i've tried many products but none of them did the job... It's been nearly four years since I've started treating hyperpigmentation under my lower lip and it's been driving me insane... But I began doing DIY masks with turmeric, chickpea powder and rose water and I'm actually seeing results... I recommend it for anyone who doesn't have allergies to any of the ingredients. PS: it takes time, you have to exfoliate before putting the mask on, and you should do it twice a week.
thank you for all your advice. i developed melasma after my twins and am desperate to get rid of it. As someone new to this, I would've like you to give us a video (or to list) in the order you use all of this. I am confused on how/what goes on first, second, etc..thanks
There are quite a few comments about how expensive some of these products are. The company The Ordinary makes a lot of single ingredient products that are similar to some of the more expensive options that were discussed in this video, and it is very affordable.
When I was preg w my 3rd child I got melasma across my forehead n cheek 6 weeks after giving birth it all went away 2 yrs later I got preg w my 4th child the melasma came back n this time w a vengeance my whole face was one big veil of melasma 5 yrs later It’s still there so when this video popped up on my notifications I clicked so fast I hate my melasma it looks so bad I feel like a spotted giraffe n it’s so hard for ur makeup to look good I’m so aggravated I finally thought there’s a way to get rid of this but unfortunately I can’t afford any of the products mentioned in this video n now w this government shutdown I have no income whatsoever everything is wiped out but im going to stay positive n maybe way in the future I can look bac on this video n b able to afford these products!!!! Ty so much for sharing ur tips for melasma!!!!!!!
Angelina Carraway35 check out The Ordinary by Deciem, specifically products with vit C, niacinamide, and Alpha Arbutin as well as all their AHAs (acids). It’s very affordable. Also check out Gothamista’s YT channel for videos on this subject. She is very good at suggesting a wide of products at different price points. Best of luck! xx
Also invest in a good sunscreen there's lots of affordable ones out there you just have to find what works for you ♡ UV exposure worsens melasma and the treatments for melasma make skin more sensitive to UV rays so sun protection is important
Angelina, try to buy a big leaf of organic Aloe Vera (in France it costs only 1 euro) - you basically put the gel straight from the plan onto to your melasma , every morning and night for as long as possible. I've been doing It for the past 4 months and mine has lightened tremendously. Consistency is key though ! But Aloe Vera DOES work :)
Interesting, thank you for that, I'll make sure to ask my physician to check my liver. I have what looks like a mustache, but in my skin & hair is virtually non-existent there. I don't drink, I've never had any other than coffee as something that would affect my liver badly. She did mention birth control, so perhaps that's why, but I've had this my entire life. There's been now two times my Vitamin D levels have been less than half the lowest acceptable level & in one of these times it was my thyroid which also had extremely low output levels. I'm really curious as to why (doc had no answer) & whether the discoloration is a side effect? I live in Alaska, so I'm one of those lucky people who get to eat a ton of salmon & as I said, I'm a coffee drinker. Thanks all & have a great day today!
I’ve been using vitamin C with ferulic acid and E. I’m telling you my acne scars have faded and some just gone. It takes quite awhile to go away though. Literally month after month I was so mad that they were still there. It took like 6 months to start seeing a difference. ! And I used this acid gel wash from wishtrend. Just be patient. It works. I follow a 10 step program. I also use a skin resurfacing gel mask once a week.
Sumer Tatum-Clem by Timeless 20% CE and Fwrulic acid. I buy this refill size and I do refrigerate it. I bought this 9/18/19. I’m halfway through. So even though it’s something like $70, it’s a large bottle and it’s still clear and still works and it’ll take me through to March. So that is about $10/month. Just refrigerate it.
Nissira Patricia so this is more than 10 steps. cleanser is cosrx low ph good morning gel cleanser or Acwell ph balancing cleansing foam.. Then Pyunkang Yul moisture ampoule in my chest and lower neck. Then I use Acwell ph balancing toner. Then follow with I’m with Rice essence. THEN I’d use the vitamin C then coq10 after. I will dab on some Peach and Lily glass skin refining serum for added moisture. I use Make Prem hydrate me on my face. Nivea pure and natural on neck and chest. Then I use Hado Labo she correcting eye cream and after that soaks in I top it with a little Whamisa eye essence. FINALLY I use a sunscreen. I have like 8 so I switch out depending on the weather. Just started trying Klairs soft airy UV essence. Great for winter for sure. That’s daytime. At night I only add clean it zero for a double cleanse and right after I use Then (at night only) I use Klairs youth activating drops. Then the rest of my routine. It actually only takes me like 5 minutes. I’ve been doing this for over 2 years so I’m pretty speedy. I will try and do a mask 2-3 times a week and I use the Peach and Lily super reboot resurfacing mask once a week. Whew! If someone laid out this list to me I’d say they were crazy as hell. It really takes a little bit of time and the results are worth it. I wouldn’t do all of that if I saw nothing! Aren’t you glad you asked? Haha
@@C1nderfire Thank you for the detailed description! I am also started to use Korean skincare so its good to know that some people are as "crazy" as me. :) I am also using Cosrx AHA and BHA serums to fade scars.
Wow so glad I came across this! These light brown blotches surfaced in the past 2 months and make my cheeks look dirty!😩😠 I’m Asian and in my 50s but youthful looking and have always gotten away with no foundation outside of tinted moisturizer. I’m going to buy every product recommended and keep you posted! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
I am so glad I found this video. Having had Melasma on my forehead for over a year I had given up hope of getting rid of it. I am almost 3 weeks in using the PCA skin along with the other products suggested and i can barely see it. Thank you.
@Claire Genney Wow you’ve given me some hope! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the products she mentioned it really helps! I also have terrible melasma on my forehead and upper cheeks and I was really giving up hope because I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun and nothing has really worked I’m tired of having to cover it up with makeup all the time. Just like you im so grateful I found this video. I had to subscribe 😁💕
@@millybadze2117 you're welcome Milly. It's still bare visible so no need to use thick cover ups anymore. I no longer need the PCA gel but I have kept up with the other products and sunscreen everyday. All the best with it and I hope you share your results. X
Cosmelan chemical peeling can speed up the process. It is an expensive treatment, but it really takes off a lot of skin and smooths the skin tone. The home treatment stings but it gets better. The end result is worth the effort 👍.
Hope it work for you. If not i will suggest papaya, glutathione and mulberry even tone cream. It clears melasma and treat acne effectively. I use it as a daily body moisturizer.
Rose hip oil has really helped my dark spots left over from pimples. I have used it every night for about 6 months, and I now am really noticing them dissapear slowly but surly .
@@ibusofieyolanda7888 I bought mine off the Deciem website . It's from The Ordinary . I have had the best luck with that brand. I also have bought it at Sprouts or Whole Foods, I can't remember which one. But I prefer "The Ordinary" it is affordable and has worked the best for me 😁hope that helps!
It is also a good idea to stop using retinol a few months before getting pregnant. I was advised by a obstetrician not to use it at all. I asked why and he said it does not have enough studies to show the long term effects on women's reproductive health. My sis, who is a Ped also advised me that it is safer to use an alternative so all of my sisters are now using bakuchiol. I think women go through enough with their bodies to consistently put something into our skins not fully knowing the effects, even though it is topical. I know retinol is the gold standard for hyperpigmentation and for absolutely beautiful skin but it can come with a long term cost.
I have age spots and malasma. I used pixi glow tonic as my aha, palmers skin success with hydroquinone, differin adapaline retinol gel, perricone md vitamin c esters serum, (will be trying the ordinary vitamin c next)neutrogena baby sunscreen with zinc,( yes its thick and white like baby diaper rash ointments but I'm pale enough that you dont see the whiteness on me and I'm allergic to the sun, I have polymorphic light eruption and chemical sunscreens burn my skin for some reason). I also use the cerave line of moisturizers. I use all these products daily, but before cerave, I had the retinol uglies with a wind burn,( ah love New York weather in winter.) Last year. Cerave healed my skin in days and I havent had dry skin since I started using it. I also use a hyaluronic acid serum, dont have a favorite. I didn't have the money to spend on high end products, so I went with things from the drug store that had active ingredients that everyone says work. And it did take time. A year. My malasma is now a pink color instead of brown, and it's easy to cover with makeup. My age spots are almost gone. And my aging skin looks younger. Not as many fine lines, is firmer, just looks healthier. So it can be done on a budget
I highly recommend The Ordinary's Vitamin C ... I buy the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder from them and mix my own. It's so easy and then I can mix the strength I want and I mix small batches so it is always fresh and I don't have to worry about oxidation. Cerave makes great products and I use their day and night creams on a regular basis. The Ordinary also makes a great chemical exfoliator in their AHA 30%/BHA 2% Peel. Actually, The Ordinary makes some great products and they are very affordable. She recommends some very high-priced items in this video such as Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, Dr. Perricone ... and, even tho, I can afford those brands, I don't buy them because I can buy products with as good a quality for much less and save those $$ for fun makeup. I would also recommend Retin A (tretinoin) instead of retinol. A retinol has to go through 2 conversions to get to where Retin A starts out and you never know how much you are actually getting. For those who do not want to deal with a doc and prescription and insurance (most insurance won't cover Retin A unless it is for acne), then I recommend Curology ... they formulate a formula for you (the anti-aging formula generally contains tretinoin, niacinamide and azelaic acid) in strengths based on your answers to their questions and they send it to you every two months for $20 per month. The first month is free ... you only pay for shipping. And, because I am not wasting $$ on Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, etc. I am not feeling the crunch in spending the $20 per month for Retin A, which is the ONLY scientifically proven anti-aging product.
I use Aloe Vera glutathione lotion. It contains Aloe Vera extract, vitamin c, glutathione and soluble collagen. It has cleared my melasma and acne as well. It moisturizes well too
Susan, I got my dark spots..from the military doing Dermabrasion to my face because I was on numerous medications but the main culprit of the ice pick skin that was living with. Depressing. I truly hope this helps.
Thanks for this informative video! I keep nearly buying C.E.O., but then I'll see someone else say they hated it or it didn't work. At 43, I am so tired of spending money on things that don't work; it's so frustrating. So, thanks to you (and the fact that I believe you're honest and educated). :-)
I’ve dealt with hyperpigmentation forever! I tried Musely and after 6 weeks, it was 85% gone...by the way...I have no connections to them and have not been asked to promote them...it works!!
Yes please! How do you apply your hidroquinone? Morning, night? Before the retinol ? Before Vit C in the morning... please help!! Thank you so much, you are amazing!
I wish she would have before and after pictures tho.The best natural exfoliating is fresh aloe vera it also has inflammation property to get rid of your melasma and hyperpigmentation. I've been using it for a week and omg it works my dark spots is faded I'm gonna keep using it forever. Tretinoin is also very good to get rid hyperpigmentation but it's a little harsh on skin if you have sensitive skin
If I'm not mistaken, when I was preparing for my essay for bachelor degree, I read that we have to avoid niacinamide and vitamin A in the morning because of its low photostability. And retinol is a type of vitamin A...
Hi Susan, thank u for your videos. At nite time, is the order after cleansing: (1)hydrating serum, (2)hydroquinone [allover face 12%], (3)VitC, (4)moisturizer...?
Thank you for that...as an older ex surfer my skin has blotches after the damage done surfing without sun block (was uncool). Didn't know you could "bleach" it with cremes. Great...
Iv come to learn that aside having acne some people are more prone to scaring than others. For those of us who scar easily we definitely have to incorporate vitamin c and Retinol in our regime. Downside is most likely if we scar easily then our skin is very sensitive and thin, so we can’t use abrasive products on it and over expose it. This whole skincare situation is just hard chale 🤣
Now I understand why my acne leaves scars behind and takes forever not seeing improvement. Seem that I have to add *retinol and Vitamin C* in my regimen all time along with a good sun block and moisturizer. Thanks
Susan Susan Susan I love this video. And I have to tell you...of all of them many sides of wisdom and knowledge that you bring to your TH-cam family my favorite part is when you are Susan the skin care expert ...hands down there is an energy about you that says “ I love talking about skincare, you can trust me and I love what I do” I was so happy to see that you included the Amazon retinol ...the last time you spoke to us about you had just discovered it... so for you to recommend it .... I am off to buy it right now
Amanda Westbrooke Thank you! I truly love to talk about skincare. 👍 Let me know what you think of the retinol. I’ve been using for a couple weeks now and I’ll warn it’s a touch strong for over the counter, but surprisingly not irritating. I use it two days in a row, then take a night off, then go two days again. That seems to be the right formula for me, but I would love to know your take on it once you try.
@@SusanYara I'm new & am slowly learning how to build a good skincare routine more than just wash & SPF moisturizer for the last 30+yrs. But I on a major budget. I've been eyeing the brand Acura & have tried their.15% retinal cream & am told to slowly build up the % & how often to use it. Wondering if you know of this brand? I'll check your playlists to see if you've addressed it or not. It hasn't dried me out, I use it for darkness (mustache sans hair?!) & over my hinted areas of crow's feet/wrinkles, phyto scars? & DV related scars. This in combo of a rose/carrot seed/jojoba/sunflower seed oil blend has already severely reduced one DV scar on my cheek. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these issues & have a great day today !
Hi Susan, I am so thankful I discovered your youtube videos. I am all about skin care. What do you think about Rodan and Fields skin care products. I had kind of like your issue 1.5 years ago and decided I need to switch products. I started using R+F Reverse Brightening skin care regimen and after about 1 year I really saw results, my skin brightened up and most of my skin hyperpigmentation or sunspots went away, except for a few that are still there. I believe these remaining spots are from me picking up my hormonal one or two zits that i occassionally get. After watching this video i started using the liiyana retinol and sunday riley vit c. I do like them a lot and using them as alternate to my retinol vit c cream that comes with R+F reverse brightening. I am thinking of trying the pigment gel, maybe this will be the one that will remove the remaining pigmentation on my cheek bone. I would love to get your opinion on this. Thank you and keep making skincare videos. I truly believe you are one legit skincare vlogger.
Susan, does the pigmentation come back in the same place where it was? I mean, if you’ve treated it and it disappeared but then if something causes it again, would it appear elsewhere or the same spot?
I have hyper pigmentation since two months. I think it’s spreading on my face and neck. It has covered my forehead. The skin specialist has given glycolic and a Azelaic acid but not others that you have mentioned.
I had hyperpigmentation on my upper lip and I got laser hair removal and it got rid of the pigmentation on the first treatment. You have to wear sun screen for life afterwards because it will come back with the sun.
can i do this night and day? should i add something else? my main concern is melasma. will all these in your video for melasma be enough as daily skin care too?
I find it a bit funny that we get taught you can get rid of hyperpigmentation. You cant. Maybe if you got them while being pregnant, but if its cause of sun, aging or hormones you cant get rid of them entirely. You can "bleach" the spots / make them less visible but they will always be there. If you expose your skin to for example the sun, they will re-appear. I have had hyperpigmentation for years. I go to see a dermatologist on a regular basis and while my patches are better, they are still visible. It is so frustrating. My dermatologist always say that if the day comes when someone finds a way to get rid of pigmentation completely - that person will win the Nobel prize :)
I get acne after I apply retinol. I apply it ones week and rest of the days (3days a week) I apply salicylic acid gel. I do have hyperpigmentation on my cheek bones. And it looks disgusting. I tried putting on steroids it goes away but it comes back too. So I have a pause to applying steroids and I have started a new skin care routine. Is it right if I’m applying salicylic acid for 3 days a week and one of the days I apply retinol. And the other two days I apply nothing much except for a regular night cream and some light weight moisturiser. I thoroughly apply sunscreen whether I be at home or outside the house. Pls help me and guide me if I’m following the correct routine ma’am. I do get acne cause my skin is sensitive. And I do get clogged pores which later cause acne breakout. But yes I have melasma which is the main concern.
I'm trying to help my dad out with his dark spots, haha. He's 66 so it's probably just aging, but he also loves to stand in the sun without sunscreen 🤦♀️ I told him sunscreen was MANDATORY! But other than that, is the advice in this video appropriate for his age? Thanks in advance!
Hi! For clarification purposes, vitamin c should be used along with sunscreen then it's okay to use it again between retinol at night? Is it one or the other or okay both morning and night? Thanks!
I have a question. Sunday Riley has AHA’s which makes you more susceptible to sun damage and you’re using it in the morning. Given, of course, you have the SPF on, BUT, isn’t using a serum in the morning that has AHA’s a bit counterproductive?
I'm doing chemical peeling and it really helped get rid of my clogged pores and also my dull skin. There's still a melasma on the contours of my faces, and I'm still looking for a product that will get rid of it.
What about in our legs and underarms? I have dark spots and I wish to find something that actually works. I love these recommendations will be buying the retinol! Thank you!
Hey Susan, it would have been really great if you would have mentioned, that people should look out for physical scrubs that don't contain micro-plastics. Just for the sake of us all - let's spread awareness where we can...
Plz give proper order of the product u use. Like day 1 I used this n that n next day n night I used this. U r extremely fast. Am frm India will I gat all these things in India???
It starts on the inside. Vitamins, collagen, orange juice, b12, ashwagandha, vegetables. Lower your sugar intake. Don't waste money on these expensive products just a good sunblock
I'm a nursing mama and would love to have a video on skin care. I didn't realize you couldn't use some products while pregnant/ nursing. Can you recommend some products that are safe?
Hi! Can I ask something? 😭. Recently I am interested in making DIY Serum. Is it okay for skin if I mix 1/4 tsp of Kojic acid powder + 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin and 2tsp of Rose water? 😭 My skin is so dull and I have lots of acne scars 😭😭 I tried tons of face serum but nothing really worked on my skin problems.
Try Aloe Vera glutathione lotion. It contains Aloe extract, glutathione, kojic acid and soluble collagen. Very effective in clearing dark spots and treating acne. Use it as a daily moisturizer. Hope this help, keep me updated on your progress.
The moment I heard hydroquinone I stopped watching. I used it before and it was magical without needing to do anything else. But guess what it doesn't last. The moment you stop your skin will turn dark again and possibly worst. It took me a yr of quitting to finally go back to my old normal. Yes, your skin is beautiful but I would love to know how u do without hydroquinone.
Yes! The same thing happened with me. I was stubborn and kept on using it whenever the spots came back. Then my skin started looking waxy and strange. Now it’s okay I guess but to see someone promoting such an ingredient when alternatives like kojic acid exists baffles me.
Could you PLEASE do a video on pores? How to shrink them (if possible) how to clean them out safely, how to make them less noticeable. My pores are out of control 😖
Olga Castaneda I think you might benefit from salicylic acid. It’s a BHA that reduces inflammation, clears pores, prevents breakouts, and exfoliates. I use the Burt’s bees acne solutions clarifying toner with 1% salicylic acid every day after my cleanser, once my face has completely dried. I hope that helps!
I just came across this vid and am very thankful because I have extreme Melasma and haven't found a regiment that works for me. The Melasma is a huge hindrance in my life but I will try this. Thank you!
Use to battle melasma until Aloe Vera glutathione lotion was recommended to me. It effectively clears melasma and also treat acne. It is literally my body moisturizer. Very affordable too. Check it out.

Also invest in a good sunscreen there's lots of affordable ones out there you just have to find what works for you ♡ UV exposure worsens melasma and the treatments for melasma make skin more sensitive to UV rays so sun protection is important
Peggy Carter hi,can you recomend a brand name of retinol?alot of retinol in the market,i try twice to buy but none of them works
Hyperpigmentation can also be a sign that your liver is inflamed, specially is the hyperpigmentation is around your mouth.
claudeth80 what is the cure of it?
@@shaguftaaaa coffee, nuts, water, fatty fish such as salmon or cod, seeds are all good for that
Interesting, thank you for that, I'll make sure to ask my physician to check my liver. Thanks all & have a great day today!
oh great something else to worry about, thnx
Thank you!! I have all of the symptoms!! Your comment helped a ton!
Hi! Which Vitamin C serum did you use?
Sumer Tatum-Clem by Timeless 20% CE and Fwrulic acid. I buy this refill size and I do refrigerate it. I bought this 9/18/19. I’m halfway through. So even though it’s something like $70, it’s a large bottle and it’s still clear and still works and it’ll take me through to March. So that is about $10/month. Just refrigerate it.
Could you please let us know the 10 products you use.
There are a lot of products you mentioned, but being on a budget, what are the best 2-3 products I should buy? Thanks!
@@clairegenney5057 Thank you so much Claire! Xo
Cosmelan chemical peeling can speed up the process. It is an expensive treatment, but it really takes off a lot of skin and smooths the skin tone. The home treatment stings but it gets better. The end result is worth the effort 👍.
Where do u get cosmelan peel in the US
Whenever I get a pimple, I get hyper-pigmentation without even picking at it. Thanks for the advice, will try the PCA skin.
Hope it work for you. If not i will suggest papaya, glutathione and mulberry even tone cream. It clears melasma and treat acne effectively. I use it as a daily body moisturizer.
"picking at it makes it worse!"
*as i'm picking*
Ahahahah same
Same! 😆
Rose hip oil has really helped my dark spots left over from pimples. I have used it every night for about 6 months, and I now am really noticing them dissapear slowly but surly .
Where I can buy rose hip oil?
@@ibusofieyolanda7888 I bought mine off the Deciem website . It's from The Ordinary . I have had the best luck with that brand. I also have bought it at Sprouts or Whole Foods, I can't remember which one. But I prefer "The Ordinary" it is affordable and has worked the best for me 😁hope that helps!
You are so pretty! I love your glowy skin. And it actually looks like you never had any pigmentation issues at all.
Hi Susan! I’m 24 and am just now starting my skincare journey. Are there any other affordable alternatives to these products that you’ve shared?
Will recommend Essence Of Arga oil, it reduce melasma and dark spots. It can be use to any type of skin, very easy to apply everyday
Timmy coles really does it help with melasma please
it absolutely relieved my daughters skin asthma. She is now more confident than ever!
Her skin looks amazing
Thank you for putting this together. Where can I purchase LilyAna Retinol Cream Moisturizer?
My skin is the total opposite of yours, but I loved your comment!
You and Dr Stevens are the people I go to when it comes to pigmentation.
Do you use or have a recommendation for a vitamin C product for the body?
I use Aloe Vera glutathione lotion. It contains Aloe Vera extract, vitamin c, glutathione and soluble collagen. It has cleared my melasma and acne as well. It moisturizes well too
What should you NOT mix with Retinol? Is there an acid that should not be paired with it?
When should you apply retinol in your skin care routine? Before moisturizer? After ?
Susan, I got my dark spots..from the military doing Dermabrasion to my face because I was on numerous medications but the main culprit of the ice pick skin that was living with. Depressing. I truly hope this helps.
Thanks for this informative video! I keep nearly buying C.E.O., but then I'll see someone else say they hated it or it didn't work. At 43, I am so tired of spending money on things that don't work; it's so frustrating. So, thanks to you (and the fact that I believe you're honest and educated). :-)
Sumer Tatum-Clem I wonder if the people who hate it aren’t using it long enough? Do you know why they hate it?
@@SusanYara Some say it caused them to break out (even though they had dry skin) and others said they just didn't see any improvement.
I’ve dealt with hyperpigmentation forever! I tried Musely and after 6 weeks, it was 85% gone...by the way...I have no connections to them and have not been asked to promote them...it works!!
Can you do an “application order” for your regular skin care routine and all these products you just mentioned?
Yes please! How do you apply your hidroquinone? Morning, night? Before the retinol ? Before Vit C in the morning... please help!! Thank you so much, you are amazing!
Yes please!
Yes, that would really help. Thanks!
Yes And That's The Reason Why She Uses It Every Other Evening. :)

How often do you use the Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro Dermabrasion exfoliator?
Thank you 😊 please tell me the order of application of the products.
Question....do you use both exfoliants same night? And then skip a night. Or how do you use them?
Hi Susan. What's the difference between hyperpigmentation and freckles? Are freckles just a type of hyperpigmentation or are they different entirely?
And I have to tell you...of all of them many sides of wisdom and knowledge that you bring to your TH-cam family my favorite part is when you are Susan the skin care expert ...hands down there is an energy about you that says “ I love talking about skincare, you can trust me and I love what I do”
I was so happy to see that you included the Amazon retinol ...the last time you spoke to us about you had just discovered it... so for you to recommend it ....
Susan Yara absolutely...I’m curious if you have tried the Maelove vitamin C serum and how it compares to Sunday Riley?
Amanda Westbrooke I haven’t but I’ll check it out. 👍
3:53 Is where it starts
Which product can you use during breastfeeding out of all these? Any specific ingredients one should avoid?
With hydroquinone, because it is typically very irritating, the derm I know advises to use it on top of moisturizer instead of before.
Omg - your skin looks perfect without makeup 😯

Susan, does the pigmentation come back in the same place where it was? I mean, if you’ve treated it and it disappeared but then if something causes it again, would it appear elsewhere or the same spot?
What about dark circles around your eyes? You'd need something really simple, safe and soft.. she's had it for a long time and is now 16
Yaaa woman! Your skin literally flawless and shiny ✨ your face like full moon 🌕
Hi maam how to order for pigmentation and melasma thank you
When do you think is a good age to start using retinol cream? I’m 19 and don’t know if i’m to young to start using it?
can i do this night and day? should i add something else? my main concern is melasma. will all these in your video for melasma be enough as daily skin care too?
Plzzz show us every product u used like how u used step to by step..which one is firtst 2nd n so on n so fort...
Loved the video..which other brands wd u recomend for anti aging creams on top of retinol? Like shisiedo or lancome absolu soft cream
Would I put the PCA Skin Pigment gel on first after cleansing/toning, before Vitamin C serum, etc? Thank you!
Susan, this goes same as for acne scars right? Thanks 😘
This gives me hope! Thank you!!👏👏👏
Where to get all these products.plz mention are they available on pharmacy like wallgreens or cvs.
Is it safe to do Thermage treatment with melasma?
What are you using on your lips? The natural look, I love it 😻
Love how quick, informative, and straight forward you were!
Can you please least those products you use and the brands? Thanks
I'm doing chemical peeling and it really helped get rid of my clogged pores and also my dull skin. There's still a melasma on the contours of my faces, and I'm still looking for a product that will get rid of it.
Same here.
What about in our legs and underarms? I have dark spots and I wish to find something that actually works. I love these recommendations will be buying the retinol! Thank you!
ambi fade cream, you just have to use sunscreen while you use it or else the spots will darken with sun exposure.

From where we get these products mention link in description
I have a melasma in my face ma,am
What product I can use..
How can buy that product?
Hi Susan, can you recommend for dark circles under the eyes.
It starts on the inside. Vitamins, collagen, orange juice, b12, ashwagandha, vegetables. Lower your sugar intake. Don't waste money on these expensive products just a good sunblock
are you sure it will works??
How long do you wait between doing the spot treatment and adding your serums and moisturizers so you don’t spread the skin bleaching product around?
Do you recommend Lumispa?
Can you please show your routine. That would be so helpful. Thank you 😊
I just came across this vid and am very thankful because I have extreme Melasma and haven't found a regiment that works for me. The Melasma is a huge hindrance in my life but I will try this. Thank you!
Use to battle melasma until Aloe Vera glutathione lotion was recommended to me. It effectively clears melasma and also treat acne. It is literally my body moisturizer. Very affordable too. Check it out.
Cynthia Goode what’s the name of the lotion?
Should i use coffee scrub on my face & body?
