Hey Randy excellent seminar I've noticed a lot of other pro angler's use to big of a hook. Hey Randy Larry Nixon was saying the biggest mistake he sees with worm fisherman is they use to big of hook and to big of line. He says it knocks the action out of the worm. Randy those g finesse hooks are stupid sharp. Thanks for the great tips I've learned so much from you the past 3 yrs much appreciated bud I'll keep watching and God bless you and your family.
I love this. I think baits are cool to talk about but it’s very important to have the proper treble hooks, hooks in general and proper weight’s depending on the technique you using. This is something you don’t see many videos on. Thanks Randy!
I don't know why others are not into this type of subject, but I do. I'm always perplexed about the different kinds of hooks out there. You've given an excellent seminar on this rarely talk about subject. Maybe not as complicate as hooks, I would like to learn about the proper selection of sinkers in different usage scenarios. Thank you.
You know, it would be handy for us beginner/ amateurs is if you could tell us a good hook set to buy that has good quality ans covers most fishing applications. Let me know!
Great seminar and I have been using gamakatsu hooks since the early 2000's, they are sooo worth it! Gotta catch up on your other advanced videos!! Thanks Randy!!
I have straight shank and ewg but both get used less than my offset worm hooks. Something about them just works for me. I'm gonna try to use the straight more just because of the slimmer profile.
Loved it , great topic , I agree with the hook getting u less bites , I hate those silver chrome shiny treble hooks , I only use Gamakatsu for my Texas rigs , and I do believe u on those trebles , I need to get me some G finesse nano coated trebles
I’ve got all of the Aaron Martens hooks,in nano coating trebles and the straight shank ones and also the hybrids with the nano coating.. I do use red hooks in both trebles ( SuperSpooks and DT6-10’s) and the Gammy feather trebles along with some Owner and Hyabusa …there’s an influx of jdm hook companies, but you almost need a degree to find a hook better than Gammies😜👊🎣
It’s amazing how a jerkbait has all those treble hooks and they get off so easy on it , you have to play em and not horse em , this comment I know u know this already though
A lot of the guys i fish with pay no attention to what hooks they use. They’ll use the same 4 or 5/0 EWG for literally everything!! Then when I show them a 3/0 or 4/0 straight shank hook they just look at me weird!😂
Hook specs are _almost always_ incomplete or even omitted by manufacturers/merchants. (Esp hooks on lures!) It's the most important part of a bait/lure. I even saw a 6lb catfish bite/caught, on a bare hook! So, why are hooks specs so lacking? I'd like to know: precise materials, (coatings, feathers) weights ... in grams, wire diameters, (like fishing line ... NOT descriptions --> ''Beast, Heavy, Light' etc) total length, et al.
Hey Randy love your channel I love all the things that you do quit pushing Tackle Warehouse so much you can get it a lot less price at Bass Pro Shop quit pushing it every other word out of your mouth is Tackle Warehouse
I know it gets repetitive, but I wouldn't be doing the youtube videos if I couldn't push TW and other things. Sort of like tipping a server for good restraunt service.
What makes an Aron M straight shank hook different, when do you use it? Also, as a matter of logic, the ewg worm hook would seem to work the same was the way you rigged the Z Hog, flush on top barely skin hooked. Finally isn’t the straight shank hook skin hooked on a brush hog or lizard crooked, and not in line with the bait? I clearly am an amateur with such questions.

Thank you for your wisdom on hooks! I learned so much. Loved the seminar
I think the 10:00 -11:00 minute mark is the best case you have ever made for using braid to fluor/mono leader
Great video Randy. Thanks for sharing that.

Excellent. What about split shot rigs?

Awesome video Randy, thanks
Super useful seminar.
Thanks.
You showed rigging a tube with an offset hook but you also were promoting the tush hook in another video. When do you use one vs the other?

Does the nano coating contain PFAS chemicals?
@@davidgerdes1815 I have to look at packages, but I didn’t think of that 🤷🏻♂️👍
will there be a rod seminar?
Great idea!
Great

Johnny Morris owns both bass pro,and tackle warehouse, so pick what price your handing Johnny... cuz he owns both brands.. kinda monopoly u 🤔.
@@mattthomen1608he does not own TW
Need more online tackle dealers with lower prices, but it's hard to get good prices when your not buying bulk like bass pro
