These are great! My partner of several years is Bosnian and my resolution for this year is learn to at least speak and understand it at a passable level. I am still a beginner but your videos will be super helpful, thank you!
Very beautiful language never heard of it before😭😍😍 I am learning Chinese currently in school and Korean on my own. I learned French in high school (still need to keep learning). I am a native Spanish speaker (mother tongue) from Puerto Rico and a fluent English speaker (America). I am a lover for languages haha I would love to learn as many languages as my brain can learn. Definitely adding this to a MUST learn!!! thank you for these phrases God bless 💕💕
Wow that's crazy! I'm so inspired by you. I want to learn as many languages as I can as well! I am Bosnian- I understand the language I just cannot speak it. Good luck! I definitely recommend that you try Bosnian food- It is so good!!
My cat understood only Bosnian when we got her from a local Bosnian family 8 years ago. I had to teach her commands in English. She now knows "canned kitty food" in 2 languages.
Yeah, it is very heroic what was done to Muslims in Bosnia,Iraq,Afghanistan ,Palestine,it takes such courage to bully people and nations who can’t fight back right, even tho I was rejected a lot and called ugly when it’s not my fault ( Poor Me ) I still feel bad for our Bosniak women and young girls during the aggression.✌️👎And nope ,I don’t hate on Serbian and American women/girls.❤️❤️. Hi! It's been a while since you uploaded this video, but hopefully you're still around :) I have two questions: - In another video you explained that coffee in Bosnian is kahva, but in this video there's mention of "kafu". Is that a conjugation of the word kahva? - The phrase "Jeste se naspavali?", I'm hearing you say a 'li' as a second word, is it missing on the slide? And more importantly, is this a phrase you would only say after just waking up and, for example, seeing someone around the breakfast table? Or could you also use it, say, when you meet someone in town at 11:00 in the morning? Thanks so much for creating these videos!
Hi I hope I can help you :) 1.) In Bosnian you can say either Kahva or Kafa, both are correct, just Kahva is somewhat more formal word, while kafa is what young people uses. 2.) Yes, it is missing on the slide, but you can also pronounce it as it is written on the slide, you won't make a mistake and will sound more natural. Yeah it is usually said when both of you wake up
How do you say “I don’t actually know all that much Bosnian” I would just love to say that exact sentence when people ask me to speak Bosnian, since I’m Bosnian but didn’t grow up there, yet alone grow up wit my Bosnian parents
Hello there, to say that sentence you would say: Ustvari, ja ne govorim bosanski. If there is anything else I could help you with, please let me know. :)
How to speak Bosnian Thanks you very much, I really appreciate the help. Your videos are very helpful as well! Could you tell me some common curse words or words to express frustration? Also is there something to stay away from? Like something I should not say or do in Bosnia. I feel like the Bosnian people are such a kind and genuine, wise group of people. I’m so scared I’ll accidentally disrespect them once I visit
Hello Anna, Thank you for this amazing video, the phrases are really helpful. Is it possible to post a video of phrases used during shopping, ex. How much is this,Do you have another color, what sizes do you have . . . Thank you for helping us to learn Bosnian❤️
Because we shouldn't translate it literally. When we say "Jednom u sto godina" it is equivalent to "Once in a blue moon" in English. If we translated everything literally, then many things wouldn't make sense and my goal is to make them have sense in a foreign language so that people know how/when to apply them in conversations.

I believe we need to be transparent and open to larger audience here, especially from non European countries as I suspect they may have some little knowledge on this subject. With all respect to the people of BIH, but there is no such a language as the Bosnian language, there is a Bosnian dialect of Serbo-Croatian which is a South-Slavic language. To give a better picture, there is no American or Australian language, there is English and its dialects and accents spoken in different English speaking countries. I am not going to involve any political statements here but unfortunately the 90's war in former Yugoslavia contributed a lot to language nationalism and creation of separate languages, which technically speaking form the same language base except for, if referring to the languages spoken in ex Yugoslavia- Albanian, Macedonian and Slovene being own distinctive ones. I am a foreign person, who around 20 years ago started learning so called Serbo-Croatian from one book I received from a Polish university and it teaches one language but with regional characteristics, similarly to books providing detailed exposure to differences between the American and British dialects. Pozdrav svima.
Absolutely not true,Bosnian language was made before Serbian. First Bosnian dictionary was made in year 1631. While the first serbian dictionary in 1818. and plus Bosnia as a country is older than Serbia
@@peachpie7849 I am not even going to comment on this the way it should be my friend! In the 17th century, both Serbia and Bosnia plus 90% of the entire Balkan were under the Ottoman occupation. Bosnia had never gained a country status prior then. There is no Bosnian language full stop. There is neither Canadian language nor Australian language. It is still the same - English language with regional dialect/accents, similarly one can say about the Bosnian or Montenegrin dialects etc.
