  • Here's the shorter, final part to the teardown videos.
Here's an update on the teardown of my barn find GPZ900R, in this episode I finish the teardown and get the bike down to the bare frame.
In this video I continue dismantling my Barn Find Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R motorcycle, I finish removing the wiring loom, front wheel, front shocks, rear wheel, swing arm, and finally reveal the bare frame.
I'm doing a complete nut and bolt restoration so once I'm down to the main frame I can start rebuilding it like a massive lego kit!
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy!

Hi Ash. I’ve re-built a lot of bikes over the past 40 odd years (8 years since the last) these video bring back lots of happy memories & frustrating at time but there is no better feeling when they start after the rebuild & again when it back on the road. Your a natural with the camera. Keep up the good work matey

Hi there ash, honestly mate really enjoying your rebuild, it's nice to see you just doing so much at a time and basically explaining it all as we go on the journey with you, i enjoy watching loads of car builds obviously like mat Armstrong but they are 100 miles a hour and to many builds, obviously only my opinion but keep it up and so glad I found you from 1st post 🎉

Nice one Ash after the frame is painted you need to talk nicely to your other half so you can build it up in the living room hee hee, you're doing great so far mate look forward to the next part.

Haha, I was thinking of building it in the cellar, but getting it out would require a lot of digging 🤣

Hi from Wales! My exhaust is pretty bad, I'm wondering if there's an exhaust refurbish company out there

I doff my cap to you Ash, working outside in the Welsh weather, often with one hand for the sake of the video! I too have an 85 GPz900 stripped down to the frame awaiting the engine to be rebuilt, but at least I am doing it in a workshop with a decent lift. I do have a feeling that I will likely need to your videos for reference during the reassembly so thank you in advance.

There's a lot more footage than you guys get to see... if you ever need a bit more detail just ask. I'm not gonna lie, my back aches for the 2 days after working on the bike 🤣

Just to make things handy open the top cap on the forks while there still in the triple clamps they can be tight

I am very surprised that you managed to get everything apart Ash, well done. The thin rubber hose that is connected to the coolant filler goes to the overflow tank on the right side of the bike under the side panel, and the last 2 clips you removed off the frame are for the 2 breather pipes that are connected to the carbs. 👍

Making videos is handy for when your putting it back together
Wiring and cable routes is the biggest pain when you have a freshly painted frame and no wear marks to guide you
