The Rab mat with the 9.5 R Value and weighing less than a kilo is extremely impressive. The thickness of 11cm’s might even stop me from bottoming out at the hips on those vertical baffles.
That Loft mat looks very comfy for the same weight as a prolite plus large. Sleeping mat reviews usually say "of course it's not your bed at home" but all the mats in this video actually look a bit comfier than my bed at home.
Totally, things have really changed in recent years, with mattresses becoming increasingly more comfortable. The biggest breakthrough this year appears to be making those more comfortable mattresses into something that's capable of being carried - as opposed to something you'd throw into the back of the car.
Quite a claim from Rab, an R value of 9.5 I look forward to seeing some reviews on this, in comparison with Thermarest. 9.5 is a significant difference to 7, so we will see. I'm currently highly sceptical.
Ive got the current dagger osmo and its fantastic. Little heavy at 1.8kg, but gives supreme confidence that it'll hold up to bad weather. Plus- its a palace on the inside.
There's a lot to be said about carrying something that's a little bit heavier just so you can benefit from that extra living space inside. Definitely makes the camping experience a whole lot nicer!
The Rabs are probably made of very thin material which might easily tear or puncture. The Sea to Summit and Nemo pads also don't have the best rep for durability, and some reviewers have said the Nemo R-values are not accurate, and they feel cold. IMO Exped Dura are the best option, and seem to have the best owner reviews vs the competition on sites like REI. Heavier, but more reliable.
I think the key word there is 'probably', because the reality is that neither of us know; however, once we've got one to test we'll be able to pass comment.
The Nemo tent is built for wet weather with 3000HH floor and fly? My Robens has a 10,000 floor and 5000 fly. The bare minimum I would use for UK wet weather. The Berghaus tent has a 5000HH floor and you can see on Blot Outdoors how there was a big puddle inside it when he got up in the morning. That Nemo is a strictly summer fair weather tent. FALSE advertising.
The Hikenture sleeping pad is 6.2r rated and only £70 and light , no need for big prices when there's cheaper stuff on amazon Im sure this guys removing comments i posted a link ect n not here no more must be oaud by them to promote, if so y nor jyst say
We haven't removed anything, so I'm not sure which post you're referring to. Our experience of cheap Amazon products is that - more often than not - you find out why they're a cheap when they fall apart quite quickly. Maybe this is the exception, but maybe not...
It's not pitched as being a four season tent. The Nemo website suggests three season and we'd agree with that, although - as per the sentiments shared in the video - we think that there's been a whole load of design tweaks to make it more suitable for the weird and wet environment we have here in the UK.
It’s exactly what we describe it as - it’s a first look. We’ll generally follow them up with more in depth reviews once the products are released. All views are our own - both good and bad, positive and negative!!
Those new mats from Rab and Nemo finally giving the Therm-A-Rest NeoAir Xtherm NXT a run for its money then.

Finally, some fresh gear reviews
we've been a bit behind with various things going on, but have a load lined up for the next few weeks
@@ukclimbingofficial that's great news for such a procrastinator like me!🙃

Sadly, video should be called, stuff you aspire to own, but are most unlikely to afford 😂
We can all dream...loved the sleeping bag with arm holes.

The nemo tent looks great, but I hope they do it in something other than school toilet yellow.
I'm afraid it's only available in school toilet yellow 😅
I see Tim - I like
We feel the same way about him too 🥰
Might be upgrading my dagger Osmo 2P next year then 😂
Thought it’s navi dendi for a slight second

Where did you see all this new gear?
The Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) in Liverpool, back in June
Wet, rainy moisture?
When I read this my first thought was "I hope it wasn't me that said that", but it probably was 🤣

Bet you any money it wouldn't survive a UK weather with high winds rain ect n not a 4 season I'd say a summer tent at best

Is this an advert?
Seems like it.
