Companies learnt that they can make more money for doing less work if they stop making the cheapest model in the range . This started with the car industry and spread over many sectors
A lot of these watch manufactures (TAG, Cartier, Hublot) sometimes have to prove to people that they don't just slap a generic movement into a flashy looking watch. I think this is the venue for that.
W&W is just a pissing up the wall contest these days. Gold this. Platinum that. Diamonds. Gems. It’s got nothing to do with the run of the mill buying public - they are just trying to outdo the other brands and get the spot light on their own creations. If you’re an average income guy they are not interested in your opinions. They are gunning for the big rollers, sports and movie stars. The guy on the street is the furthest thing from their minds. They might even stop the extra public days in the near future. The people buying tickets account for a vanishingly small percentage of the global consumer market. A lot of people who attended this year were not happy with their treatment at the show. It was just like window shopping in the world’s biggest watch mall with the doors closed.
CW Belcanto is a feat as no other small brand created an affordable chiming mechanical watch, which is definitely a big move forward. Cartier and JLC were my two winners, and Panerai didn't excite me at all. I hope it doesn't turn into a Roman Circus kind of situation where only unaffordable Watches are released.
I agree with exception of Hermes, Nomos, Cartier, and Tudor: very few compelling choices at the entry luxury segment. Glad to hear mentions of both Parmigiani Fleurier and Chopard LuC. Two often massively overlooked brands making small productions for discerning collectors. The Vacheron Overseas in green was an interesting omission. Having seen the Omega white Speedmaster, it deserves to still loom over all new releases. It is stunning. My favorite watch of the show: Czapek Promenade Soleil. Amazingly original dial and outstanding movement at the right size to boot.
My favorite is cartier and also hermes,i dont like hermes generaly but this new specific model have a very nice design, regrets probably the execive price
Commenting only on which the watch enthusiasts are showing at W&W 2024, I think Cartier hit the home runs. Being a panerai fan, I think they’re holding back, yes they may be constrained by their original designs (that’s what I love about them) but I smell something in the wind for them in next couple of years.
One aspect ,that many people in our society, maybe don't fully grasp,is the growing income inequality shift that is happening in the world. Obviously , these watch manufacturers, are capitalizing,on thislowly shifting trend. It's just a new reality and business model,in my humble opinion.
Bravo to us for trying to salvage the video after my screwup🤦🏻
I still laugh when I think of this convo
As soon as I saw “Rolex free”, I gave this a thumbs up. After watching vid, I subscribed. Well done
You're too kind. Thanks for watching

Bring on more Bruce and Rob please, I’m here for it!

That is fair. When the world is watching it is time to flex a little. But I did feel a little left behind. I don't shop 10k plus priced watches often
You guys need to do more collaborations. Very natural and real. I enjoyed it.
We plan to film regularly! It's a blast

Awesome to see and hear genuine appreciation and different viewpoints in a Rolex/Tudor free video.

I agree. There needs to be more of a focus on sub 10k priced watches
My favorite is the convo! For watches, my favourite was the Cratier Santos dual time
Agree with you, guys. A lot of the watchmakers have become WAY too full of themselves.
That's a great video and loved the discussion

Ah we forgot to mention Czapek. They are underrated as well. Great points
Baume & Mercier had 6 novelties, the Riviera facets. Beautiful watches accessible prices with 5 days power reserve. Very underrated brand.
Me too I do love Parmigiani, but I am too scared about depreciation to buy one at retail
My favorite is cartier and also hermes,i dont like hermes generaly but this new specific model have a very nice design, regrets probably the execive price
guys really nice chat 👍👍 Bruce pls, keep this format ;) a nice couple nice discussion
Hermes killed it this year with their releases! It further cements their credibility as a watchmaker.
"The dong on the top of the hour" - you mean the Omega Speedmaster?
Best. Comment. Ever.

I would love to see Panerai have an amazing watches and wonders next year. It is hard to refine only two styles of watches. But they can do it
Loved the cut as well!
That Parmigiani is so “stealth wealth” pretty but $25k 😅
I need it used or heavily discounted haha
Like the format
Cartier and Tudor is what draws me.
Rolex not caring about people and just diluting the grey market and so out of touch WW. Kudos for ignoring them.
All above watches are available for sale now in Watches showrooms ?

Or when the market is vastly down... they have to cater to the elite who always have money to spend
Cartier was God tier! 💪
Wait a minute, what? You're doing a video without a Rolex in it? Unbelievable!
Welcome to my channel! Although I enjoy Rolex, most of my content is other brands
What's up with watch companied simply coming up with a new dial colour and then "best release" this convention?
Cartier did so much more than just new colors. We just think they impressed the most
This guy with Bruce denies it but tag sells a lot of watches to the masses
It’s a beautiful watch though 😊
VC won W&W. Hands down.
Maybe make the 4 in Roman numerals IV not IIII. Come on man!
Not throwing shade, but that orange Zenith looks more like a Vostok than a Zodiac to me.
I don’t understand the excitement for it either
@@patrik3450 it's pretty unusual, but I don't mind it
@@K.J.H_ zenith in Denmark
Cost more than retail Rolex. Nothing they make excite me. I’d rather just buy omega, Tudor etc. pretty overpriced
I skipped to the end. Not disappointed.
Zodiac lookalike, love it!😂
Rob speaks what many of us are thinking

"Silly sophomore humour near the end"
That's a good way to keep your viewers hooked...you know us well Sir 👍😂
I think TAG is getting attention but I still ain’t warm with the brand.
As long as you can walk into Macy’s and buy a TAG Heuer, they’ll never be taken but so seriously.
@@daniell2217Well you can’t get a Tag at Macy’s…so how do you feel now?
lol I wish my local Macys would sell TAG Heuer!
I love Zenith but man that orange defy is disgusting
Straight outta the 70s
Cartier definitely killed it ……
Reymond Weil
Nomos under 5k
😂
Mormons saying bad words is the best. 😳
Panerai is dead
I wouldn't say dead but definitely needs to see a doctor.
They can be saved with some good moves
Just some sub luna rosa released, they need to do better. I am still a fan boy though.
Cartier straight killed it. Everything else sucked.
