- I apologize in advance for the "strobing" effect on the railroad crossing lights. Something about those lights my camera does not like, and it can't pick them up normally. Well, another very successful railfanning day. I was down at the tracks for about 4 or 5 hours.
I caught a pair of Norfolk Southern units at West Street, which was was very cool. I've never seen NS diesels on this line. I also caught some ex-Southern Pacific units on different trains, which I have started to see more frequently.
I got a first time listen to the new Western-Cullen Hayes e-bells at Main Street which recently replaced one ASC e-bell, which is unfortunate. At Cross Street, I caught a WCH bell on it's way out (26:20), and also got an epic horn show from Metra 147's P5.
Having an interest in school buses, and making sure the driver followed proper railroad crossing procedures, I filmed a bus crossing the tracks.

I think the messed up WCH E-Bell actually does a better job of getting my attention than normally functioning WCH e bells do

There’s nothing wrong with it it’s a WCH type 1 e bell

+Malcolm Green Most often the trains that come through Wheaton are quiet. I'm not sure if this part of the line is a quiet zone or what, but sometimes we can get the freights and passengers to give us some pretty good horn shows.
