I picked up a hitchhiker here in New Zealand the other day, he was from Denmark. His dad is a Lutheran pastor. I mentioned Torben and he expressed that he felt he was not right to stress water baptism and the Holy Ghost as part of salvation. I took him home and over a cup of tea, explained a few things. As a result he said he will now ask Jesus to baptise him in the Holy Spirit (evidenced by tongues.)

Jesus baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matthew 3 verse 11 . He is the Living Water. Alot of people can be baptized like in this video and not receive the holy spirit because it is a change in your heart or mind. If there is not a commitment to change,water by baptism does nothing.But Jesus has done it all,

Before I was set free from a couple of demons, I felt the HS as an upset force entering my body. HS would "fly through" me. It was because there was a spiritual conflict. After that I have never felt an "upset" HS.

I wanted to get baptized but people told me it wasn't necessary, and if I did I'd go through more spiritual attacks so I ended up sad about it .now I'm scared to do it . and don't know what to think...

Choose new people to talk to and get advice from! It isn't necessary for salvation, but it IS a good tool to show your commitment to the Lord and Him bestow the Holy Spirit! i believe the Holy Spirit comes as soon as you choose Jesus anyhow, but it's more for reaffirming the choice of choosing Jesus as your savior. I was so happy when I did it as a child. I laughed so hard because I felt sooooo amazing, that my mom actually told me to settle down because she thought i was acting foolish. I'll never forget it!
