I miss Tami she's always been such a nice person. I'm happy I've met her before. I used to work in Harlem for 13 years and she would pass my job. I remember helping her make copies of her food menus for her. I need to go back to Harlem and see her.
I like her. She's the auntie we all should have. You can tell she cares about people, she includes everyone. Just down to earth... You dont find these kinds of people often, so when you do you have to let them know you appreciate them.
I like her attitude and that she likes seeing new faces in Harlem and people integrating more. But also, is protective of her community. That's how it should be. As an Asian American, 60% of the stuff I like, including food is African American and I want to be able to just go there and enjoy it all, even if I live in Queens (born and bred).
Definitely one of my fav episodes. Chef Treadwell is articulate, funny, inspiring, and classy. Damn, does she know how to dress! Completely in love with her personality and thoughts on food. Tami is such a good host. She's funny, and knowledgeable. She's not just any other host that you plop in a neighbourhood and have them give surface level commentary and pass it off as well-researched; her commentary actually MEANS SOMETHING.
As someone who grew up eating rice and potatoes (whatever it is fried, mashed, roasted, grilled, etc), I found it kinda funny when I see North Americans saying this combination is "too starchy" because, to me, rice and potatoes go well together just like, I don't know, bread and butter?
The first two places seem amazing, but King Bark is the place where I would be 24/7. Curried goat? Jerk chicken? On your lap on a bench at 3am after drinking with some friends? Now THAT is fine dining!
