By the looks i still think the german WWII subs still are the most iconic and probably the definition of a submarine.
A submarine of which 1 was sank by a direct cause, of a miscaculation of the stupidly over complicated high pressured toilet by the toilet guy

He drives his VIIc with proud... as he did build it himself from scratch and sails it like the original,... it always is a pleasure to film his boat! And yes,.. I´m totally with both of you, Dan and OctoMoose! It´s amazing to follow the slow and carefull movements......

Hello from Turkiye. I had done Revell's 1/72 U boot before. It is a submarine that still fascinates me. A design that looks incredibly sophisticated and great even in this modern age. Thanks for the nice video...

Beautiful Type VII/C !
WOW. But I would have loved to the German U-boat slip a fish into the Russian nuclear sub. The detail on this model was AMAZING, especially the tiny parts of the deck gun. Tremendous attention to detail... the best.
So enjoyed watching the U-Boat from under the water.

My 2 favorite subs together in RC form! Heck yeah!!! I'm a proud American (despite our flaws), but I can fully recognize and appreciate the technology that other peoples can come up with. Respect. 🫡

Rip the crew inside these submarines
Yes,... those were not long living ships..... but luckily in these models there is no crew aboard AND these models tend to live quite long.... hence noone is hunting them because they are not hunting others.. O:-)
But still it´s quite a fascinating technic aboard...

You might have been right, Matthew,.. wouldn't this be a Type VII Boat.. they have a top and a bottom conning tower hatch, so they could use it as a diver-exit. But anyway, this is a model,..the tower is completely flooded,... but if this happens in the real world, as you wrote,... phuuuu,...this is sad!

I agree with most comments. Look like a fun sport for a retired old man. But the motor should be geared do to match the scale of the model. Would also be cool to put a fiber optic camera on the periscope.
What also would be cool would be a submersible with cameras like the ones used in research exploration dives. That would be cool from a boat at the lake.

While building this stuff is an impressive feat in itself, it would be nice if the nuclear subs actually scaled down the speed of their ships with the scale of the model too, for greater immersion.
Hi 101jir,.. you are totally right... as you can see with the gray VIIc. But most rc shippers are also big kids and want to have some fun, too... and when the boat is able to, you sometime just habe to let it run.. 😅😂👍.
But still, of course, you are definitely right 😉👍

probably a stupid question , but is there anyway you could mount a fpv camera to one , i understand you couldnt dive deep , but a 1st person view would be awesome
Hi Simonz, not a stupid question at all! Actually I already did this 😇👍. I even mounted them on different types of submarines... you can find them on our channel in the uploaded videos... nearly every second one with a sub included. 😊.
But still a lot of them will also follow on the future....
And yes, it's a great view and definitively worth the effort 👍👍👍.

Mein Beileid erst vor drei Tagen hat ein kleiner Eisbrecher meine Nordic während eines Manövers gerammt und ein Loch in den Rumpf gefahren
Hab sie drauf hin zu graupner in die Reparatur geschickt Hoffe mal das beste

Hi Fuchsi,.. oh je... das tut mir leid! Eine Nordic gegen eine Pollux... das erscheint mir irgendwie... undfair... Du könntest Dich sonst auch mal in Deiner Umgebung umhören ob Du da einen Schiffsmodellbauclub findest... die könnten Dir bei der Reparatur der NORDIC weiter helfen.

Beautiful Russian sub. But I wouldn't want to be in that model if I were a gnome the way that one is cruising around like a torpedo. I'd be smashed dead against the inside walls like a bug against a windscreen. : o But fun to watch safely from the outside. ; )
German sub looks great. Now if the Germans had only build their subs on that scale (as well as their other war machines) and fought a mini war only with scale models, it would have been a whole lot less painful for everyone involved and way more fun... : D

33kts is not scale, though. I'm just going to guess the model is around 2/3 of a meter long. So, the model should only be able to go 0.59kts.

Subwaterfilm I built the USS Kidd my self however I got the HMS Nelson when she was half built so I’ve been building the rest of her mostly from scratch.

Grüß dich Holger. Geiles Video. Aber soweit ich das weiß ist die Akula,auf deutsch Schwarzer Hai das Typhoon Boot. Die Jagd U Boote dieser Klasse zählen meines Wissens nach zur Alpha Klasse. Das deutsche Boot sieht aus wie ein VIIC/40. Alles in allem tolle Aufnahmen
Hihi.. das dachte ich auch zuerst... aber das Projekt 971 (welches dieses ist) führt laut Wikiedia tatsächlich die Nato Bezeichnung AKULA. Es gibt dort sogar für das verbesserte Modell den Code AKULA II. ABER,.. Du hast natürlich ebenfalls Recht :-). Die AKULA, war der interne Spitzname der Russen für Ihre TYPHOON Boote... O;-)

I would think the military could seriously benefit with having small, long range RC submarines for espionage. The submarines would be as small as medium sized fish and therefor would get past sonar detection (if the composite was correct)

Oh, it definitely is cool 😉👍 ... and takes some skill to sail... but sadly those are not simply buyable... you can order parts or sometimes even a building kit... but then it takes quite some knowledge to actually build them... 😔
