Sharda temple| Kashmir Loc|finally constructed after 70 years|

Committee Kashmir (SSCK) will install a Sharda Mata idol at the Sharda Yatra base camp temple in Teetwal village, near the Line of Control (LoC) in jammu and kashmir
, even as the construction of gurdwara situated close to the temple has been stalled due to lack of funds.
SSCK head Ravinder Pandita said they had begun the yatra carrying the Sharda idol from Karnataka on January 24. “The panchaloha Sharda idol donated by Sringeri Mutt, Karnataka, is being taken to the newly constructed Sharda temple at Teetwal. It will be consecrated on March 22 the first Navratra,” said Pandita. The yatra carrying the idol reached Amritsar on Friday.
He said the reconstruction of the temple was a step towards the revival of the ancient annual pilgrimage to the Sharda Peeth in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)
When asked about the SSCK’s demand of constructing a corridor from Teetwal village in India to Sharda Peeth, which is located in Shardi village in PoK, on the lines of Kartarpur Corridor, Pandita said the construction of the temple was a move towards the construction of the corridor
In December 2021, the SSCK had laid the foundation stone of the Sharda Yatra base camp temple at Teetwal in Karnah tehsil of Kupwara district. The committee had also installed the Nishan Sahib and earmarked a piece of land for the construction of a gurdwara
Meanwhile, the Sikhs living at nearby Tarbuni village have appealed to the Akal Takht jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh to arrange for additional funds to complete the works. They also hailed the Army for donating funds for the construction of the gurdwara
Joginder Singh, a member of the local committee constituted for the construction of the gurdwara, said five regiments of the Army, including a Sikh regiment, deployed in the area from time to time, had donated funds for the construction of the gurdwara. He said 85% of the gurdwara work had been completed with the Army donations.
We have written a letter to the Akal Takht secretariat but haven’t received any reply so far,” he said. Joginder is hopeful that the Akal Takht or the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee would help in completing the gurdwara.
