  • This is a video that shows how to reinstall a rear bumper on a 2013 Mercedes glk 250. It applies to 2010 through 2015 models. The removal process is the reverse of the install process. However, there are some key points you need to know before you remove it and they are best seen after the bumper has been removed. If you need to remove your bumper, watch this video, and then follow the steps in reverse.

Hey great video, just did mine. THANK YOU. Couple notes: 1.) The larger cargo area tray bolts are Torx T45 (not T43). 2.) I was also able to remove my cover without unscrewing the brackets under the tail lamps- just remove the tail lamps, and pull on the cover a bit while pressing down on the bumper cover tabs - starting on outer end, and they will release.

Just to note, I used a screwdriver and took a slight amount of material off of the top four tabs (about 1mm, basically the paint) each side which you defined wouldn't come out, and was able to work them out. I did not have to undo the four bolts you identified that were very difficult to get at. Agreed, they are set very firm in place. THANK YOU for posting this video, saved me hours!

Glad it helped. Good idea on shaving those tabs a little. That would be MUCH easier than removing those bolts.

2015's do not have the center & R / L upper nut retainers; those provisions appear to have been deleted by then, see inside of a 2015 rear bumper cover.

Aw looks like it’s not a car I can rock without the bumper. Thanks for sharing

I think the reference to expansion clip #9 is referring to the part not an actual clip. The bubble showing what the clip looks like versus an actual clip that needs to be removed

This is fantastic, thank you for recording and posting. Amazing how car manufactures hide bolts and screws! Where did you buy the hitch? I have had trouble finding the OEM hidden bumper style (Curt bolt on is all over the place and not very hidden). Also, anything to be aware of when bolting to the bumper?

Nice video! At 21:57, the piece that you did't know what it was looks like a folding cargo box sometimes called a collapsible shopping crate. You pull the sides up to make the box.

Thanks. I finally figured it out; would have been nice if there had been some sort of indication of what it was....

What is the electrical thing with cables you can see in place of spare wheel at 1:20?

    • @wtrskrs
      @wtrskrs  ปีที่แล้ว

@nicu B I don't recall exactly what the function is, but mine is a GLK250 (diesel) and it's part of the DEF smog control equipment. The DEF fluid tank is below it; there's no room for a spare because of the diesel smog equipment.

Any videos how to remove the front one? I'm trying to barely remove the front cover so I can upgrade my basic halogen headlamps to the xenon after market ones. Please help!

Sorry, I have not done the front (have the factory xenon lighting).

No no, I meant a video removing my front bumper so I can access the headlamp housing. Once the bumper is removed, I can take out the headlight housing.

+Vincenzo Arizza, sorry for the delay. The MB instructions for a 2010 can be found here.
The difference between the 2010 and 2013 instructions is that the 2013 tell you to remove the tail lights first.
I will also say that several people have mentioned that they have been able to pull the bumper off without unbolting the bracket under the taillights. It must be possible since that is what the instructions say. But I know I would have caused a crease in the plastic had I tried to pull/bend it to make it come out. Up to you. :)

I didn't replace it. I was reinforcing the trailer hitch the original owner had installed.
