As a competitive skier during the 70s and 80s, I'm blown away watching Nate ski. I had an O'brien ski branded as the "6-36", a reference to the Bob LaPointe's world record of 6 buoys at 36' off. Today, the professional skiers warm up at that line length. Plus, the use of cameras and auto-throttles remove all of the driver "errors" that were common back then. Nate and the pros today are so amazing to watch.
Zoomies
Thank you!!!!! You rock!!!!!
If it saves even one person's fingers, it was worth it!! :)
Excellent!
Did that once at 36... not OFF, just 36mph full length rope....good ole days!
Amazing! Great form, tight rope, great attack!
“Juicyfruit… is gonna moooove ya!”
I feel sorry for the drummer! 😂
Band is good...the singer sux.
Some people should just not wear spandex.
Excellent avec une mention pour le guitariste et la chanteuse.
Thank you! I’d like to buy you a beer
Rock and roll😂
You guys are good cover band band of Led Zeppelin rock on my name is Nick David Hagen
Was this a Biden rally or was the audience held at gunpoint? No disrespect, just funny. Love Journey and I support MOST bands brave enough to play publicly
🤘LOVE IT 🤘
great band brilliant voice
Nice job everyone! Quite legitly pull it off!! Was a pleasure watching this video.
Outstanding...!!!
Молодёжи полезно посмотреть как играют и что играют старики.
YES !!
"Long Lonely Time"?? The name of the song is just "Rock and Roll". Sacrilege! Old Mate on the guitar was pretty awesome though...
Plus Plus
Nice cover...👍
good band
What a great band, the guitarist is fantastic
I sorta get what the coach with the French accent is saying, but how do you turn your ski WITHOUT leaning over? You can't just kick the back of the ski over.
Thank you i need to get to the subwoofers on my x358 and need to remove the seats to do so, this should help. Thank you
Did you post this to show to your grandma or something? Absolute waste of server space
Awesome job guys. Looks like a nice day on the water
You should've started ya video from the beginning then(HALF-ASSED MFERS)
Six years after your post and it's the video I needed! Much appreciated.
I still remember how hard it was on my fingers before I figured it out. Glad it helped!
Where’s this at
That cost a bob or two. @ 10 gallons an hour.
Done that one time. ! ( In my dreams)
Everybody has this huge cut to get around the buoy and then their is a gap between the rope being tight and keeping it on edge across the wake. Nate is the only one who comes around the buoy with the rope tight and on edge. That's why he's the best!
Wow. Is that a record these days ? 41 off ? I can't imagine how that feels .
Record is 3@43 (set by Nate). It was very cool to see him running this pass which is so close to the record, yet it didn't appear that hard for him!
2.5 buoys at 43 is the current listed record. It's stood for the past 10 years.
Awesome that’s he’s a goofy skier, same as me back in the day and I slacked the line in my left turn
Awesome what's the record? Anyone ever do 43 feet off? Or 45 feet off?
2.5 at 43 (9.75)
Nate Smith holds the world record. I believe it is 2.5 buoys at 43 feet off. He is the best slalom skier in the world .
The best slalom skier in the world.
I have the exact model, do you have the link to the bumper you ordered?
I didn't replace it. I was reinforcing the trailer hitch the original owner had installed.

What is the electrical thing with cables you can see in place of spare wheel at 1:20?
@nicu B I don't recall exactly what the function is, but mine is a GLK250 (diesel) and it's part of the DEF smog control equipment. The DEF fluid tank is below it; there's no room for a spare because of the diesel smog equipment.
This was my favorite ride!
I think this might be the most "making it look easy" think I have ever seen.
Nice place to ski
Looks like Valensin Ski School?
I am an old “has been” from Bob LaPoint’s” days. Not only was he smooth, but he was ahead of the game and could have taken on many more buoys.
Bob was the greatest at the time, but he was skiing behind 240 horsepower boats with manual throttle. Nate skis behind 355 HP boats with Zero-Off cruise control and much better tracking. The boat does not give AT ALL. In those days I was a 32 - 35 off skier at the same speed and even I could "muscle" the boat around. Bob was about my size but infinitely stronger and more talented on the ski and could slow the boat down with his pull. That DOES NOT happen with modern boats. If you try to muscle the boat through the wake or hammer it at the finish of the turn, it will respond and sling you to the moon. I still have a 1989 Mastercraft ProStar 190 that I keep for fun. A few years ago I was forced to use it for slalom practice for about six weeks. When I went back to a modern boat with Zero-Off, it took me two sets to run my opening pass. Enormous difference. I'm sure Bob and the others could have adjusted to it eventually, but bouy count would have dropped.
He truly is the beast. I cant help but laugh at the smoothness. Who compares?
Wow! He made it look easy. That was incredible!
