      @@RicardoLino You guys really are a tight knit community.
      I just bought myself the Aeon XXIs and my wife the Aeon Bladies based on the reviews I watched on your channel. Best skates I've ever ridden, better than my Xsjados and and even the Salomon Vinny Minton 2s I was looking to replicate after they were stolen. I was able to unity on my first day after years away, and I struggled to unity at my peak, and my wife is doing front-sides on her bright pink skates which is *amazing*.
      Getting back into it, and bringing my wife along for the ride, was all thanks to your channel. I was struggling in the lockdown, and at 33 it's given me new life.
      If I can ask you a question for you though - did you ever ride Roces Graals? What did you think? And will you be getting the new Thrones for review any time soon? I want to buy a pair as a gift for a friend to get him back skating with me.
      Good to see everyone getting back into fruit-booting in their 30s and 40s.

    Awesome video! I just thought I would mention that you don't need the washer in there if you want to keep the negative bolts recessed. I road THEM frames for a REALLY long time. No washers at all and the hardware never came loose. Riding THEM frames with no washers also gives your bearings and wheels a little more room in there and they spin better IMO. So if you want both the inside and outside recessed you just remove the washer y'all. Thats my personal preference though. Thank you for comparing these frames!

    All looked fine for wheelbite, but it did seem like the Them frame was the least locked in. Of course it's just a few grinds on camera, but on the symetrics your foot never rotated out once on the edge, whereas the thems were all over the place (notably the farv you slammed and the back unity).

    • @coreyenglish8706
      @coreyenglish8706  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair, I’m garbage at front farvs on ledges. That slam was due to wheel bite though.

    • @dvhamme
      @dvhamme 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@coreyenglish8706 Are you sure? When you slowmo 5:18 it looks like your forward foot just comes off the edge, you do a farv cess slide or w/e that is called for a few inches, then your boot sticks and off you go.

    • @coreyenglish8706
      @coreyenglish8706  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Wheel 2 bites and pulls my skate on top of the ledge. Hard to see in the video, but I remember the slam well. That being said, I always recommend breaking in your own groove. My symetrics are well broken in. The THEMS are still relatively fresh.

    Is it just imprecise editing of the audio or are the symmetrix noticeably louder when grinding? I've noticed this in a handful of adapt/symmetrix videos which seems very weird to me as they are known for UHMW or something similar (???). UHMW is ultra dense so shouldn't sound brittle/dry at all. Random other question - have you ever tried any thursday frames?

    • @coreyenglish8706
      @coreyenglish8706  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly could be both. This was edited on a phone so my ability to adjust audio was extremely limited. However, symetrics do have a particular sound. I think it has to do with the material being relatively “soft”. Don’t know if that makes sense. Haven’t tried any 50/50 or other Thursday frames. Maybe one day.

    • @coreyenglish8706

      Flat refers to having all 8 wheels down and touching the ground at the same time. Versus anti-rocker where the middle two wheels are smaller and made out of a harder material, specifically for grinding on. Or freestyle where there are no middle wheels installed at all.

    • @coreyenglish8706
      @coreyenglish8706  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’ll potentially run into issues like hitting the taller frame walls as you go over transitions (flat to down bank or similar). Flat frames tend to have shallower grooves as well so you need to bend further on groove tricks.

It’s interesting you reference the aeon as most people see those skates as a step backwards. I see room for innovation in frame designs, but I’m not sure that there’s much more I desire from current boots.
