LOL, it was actually longer, I had to pair it down leave some scenes on the cutting room floor or the video would have been eligible for playing in the IMAX theaters.
Thanks Jeff I forgot this fan has an IP54 rating. My fan was covered with drywall dust, concrete dust. I just shot it down with water, and now it looks brand new. 😃👍
I have a larger regular fan, massively filled with drywall dust, but you know you can't hose that baby down. Might be just as good to go buy another brand new version of that corded fan for $30 at Home Depot.
Great in depth review. I need a fan to keep my shed cool while I work on projects through the summer. I'm a DeWalt fan, think this will be a nice addition to my collection. Thumbs up! 👍
great video brother! Just bought me one at Lowe's. Im in the desert, 115 plus degrees and this sure helps having around the honeydoo list job sites. Great content. :)
Just bought one today from Lowe's. I also got a free 3ah battery and charger kit from a promotion. The total came out to be 76 dollars plus change after my military discount.
Just got this too for $75. I was on the fence about getting it since i thought “dont really need it” but have been using it everyday since while working in the garage. Great buy at $75 or less
Cool tests, especially that water test, was pretty great showering it with garden hose! Think all jobsite fans should be waterproof, not water resistant etc....as you will get the pouring down rain in “dumps of water” here in FL; so, a fan needs to be waterproof, imo. Thanks for testing; as know they can be challenging at times for creating & editing a video. Cheers✌🏼
Thank you Aeepek, yes this one took me 4 days of video and as late a s2 AM, and dealing numerous system failures, counter not working, had to rush out to find 2025 battery for counter remote, microphone died, have to keep changing batteries in camera and mics and wireless transmitters, then run out of memory space on camera card. This was one of the more stressful videos to make! Beauty bath take me away!
I took one of these to a weeding that was out side last week when it was 90 out. Everyone was hanging around me LOL. With a 5ah battery run full speed for 4 hours and still going when I left.
Yes, wish it was still going on, our store had no mention of it, so I never knew until guys started commenting to me about it on the last day of the sale.
Lowes is running a special I believe for the next couple days by any 20 V tools this fan included and get $120 battery and charger kit for free. Just grabbed it, thanks for the review on the same
The Lowes deal right now is not the "KIT" with the charger, the deal is this: buy one of several tool only products, and they give you a free 3 AH battery. But no charger included. I bought mine that you see in this video 2 months ago for $99 for fan, charger and battery kit.
jeffostroff the deal was buy any 20v and get a battery and 3ah charger kit for free. $129 value. (DCB112) I purchased three tools and got 3 kits for free . All separate transactions so I stocked up!
Very impressive video. However, what I want to know is how good will I cool you when it’s 100° and you have no power assuming you put it about 10 feet in front of you. I install cabinets in brand new homes, which obviously have no power and I’m looking for a fan to help. Keep me cool and I’m wondering if this will do the job.
FYI. These selling out fast in South Florida. West Kendall was out and they had 3 or 4 units earlier in the week. Was able to get one of the last few units at the 127nd av and SW 88th St Home Depot.
You're talking about that deal at Lowes, it just ended on June 24. Now they are back to charging $79 for the fan just like Home Depot, if on the Lowe's site you put it in your shopping cart, then it reveals the $79 tool only price, no battery.
Picked one up at Home Depot yesterday they price matched it to a website called crepeton for $55.88 for the whole kit. Just google dewalt cordless fan and it’s one of the first pages. Great deal if anyone wants to try it at their Home Depot
CFM ratings on compressor product labels are often misleading because a lack of standardization on testing procedures results in a variance on the same tool.
I just went to the Lowes store website and added the fan only for $119 to my cart and it also added a free 3mah battery and charger for free Valued at $119. So a pretty good deal there and i used my military discount for a total of $107.20 out the door.
I just bought the fan at Home Depot a couple days ago (I think for $79) and I got a little excited that it may have come with an extra battery and charger cuz of your review... got me excited for nothing 😢... I am impressed to see that it’s IP54 rated, something I only came to find out from your review.
Yes, also Lowes was selling it for $79 a few weeks ago, and in the store they would give you the battery and charger extra for free. Many guys told me about that, but at my Lowes, it was the same as Home Depot, $79 with no battery and no charger. This is why I always keep those Lowes 10% off coupons in my wallet, so at Home Depot where they honor that Lowe's coupon, I can squeak out several more dollars of savings.
@@jeffostroff Doing some quick "dry" math. If we take DeWalt's claim of 500 CFM as valid, the estimated wind speed for an 8 in diameter opening should be approximately 16.28 MPH. I would say if you can get a reading of 14 or 15 MPH the fan is doing quite well. I like the fan so much I just went and grabbed a second one today. Besides the obvious job site application, these will be my hurricane fans. You know yourself,it is getting close to that time of year here in Florida.
Dewalt trying to one-up Ryobi which has had a similar hybrid fan for years (it appears that the Dewalt version has some improvements). @@jeffostroff wow no wonder why dewalt is like 129$. It seems to be worth it. My milwaukee only runs like 5 hours on a 6amp high output battery on high. Milwaukee lowers the battery quicker but still gives great air flow.

Yes, I messed up, I have to shoot another scene with the new calcs and re do it. I have no idea how that happened, I remember multiplying the 16 x pi on my calculator, I must have done something wrong, and at 2 am in the morning when I shot that scene, I should have seen it was off.
After seeing the DeWalt Video, I am glad I went with the Milwaukee Fan. It's way more powerful on high with a 8ah high output battery. If DeWalt rates the fan with a 4ah battery, then they should give you the same battery with the kit. A 1.5ah battery is a joke.
Your cfm is off because you're only capturing a small part of the volume of air the fan is moving. Your anemometer is only, what, 3" in diameter? You're not catching the volume of the rest of the air moved.
