- In this video we simply look at technique and control, Specially how to use mouse aim to look back at an enemy while pulling defensive moves, we will look at, Throttle control on a later episode, as this episode is mainly concentrating on getting you used to using the mouse in a defensive stance in game.

I used to have almost a 4-1 K/D in the A-4 and over a 3.0 in the A-5. They must have nerfed the shit out of 190s. They feel like flying bricks that roll really well.

I personally continue to use 'c' but use keyboard controls for elevator and aileron to do this.
Also, you have the strangest accent...sometimes it sounds Louisiana, sometimes New Zealand, but I'm perplexed.

I set my “free look” button to a mouse thumb button and the left click mouse button to “look at target.” That way if I lose sight of the plane attacking me I can hit the left click and reacquire them. I use the space bar to fire the guns, I find that hitting a button on the mouse throw my aim off.
Fair call on the mouse button to fire. That's a pretty common issue. I use space as my free look cos I use it all the bloody time haha
Wow why didn't I think of this. I'm new to the game but early on realized I was having trouble easily looking around... Change the button!
Another nice trick is to rebind c to space (who drops bombs more than using the camera?) so you can just hold free look and still have your wasd fingers free for kb maneuvering.
RetroVertigo. I bound mine to the right click button on the mouse, it just feels more natural

Or you if you're using mouse aim, just move the mouse behind you, and strictly use ONLY the keys to maneuver, that's how I usually do it.

@@JuiceOg0311 damn I wrote this comment so long ago, I was such a noob lol. I'd say I'mm much better now with flying since I changed my controls (I still use controller). I can confidently say that I'm now just as able as any other player no matter what platform.

Tested the flaps on the fw 190 Antons.....they dont break till about 700 kmph, does anyone have the actual speeds which they break at?...this is so wrong but so good
I think landing flaps rips about 350ish km/h, pretty easy to rip them off when you have so many other things to pay attention too. This is also hard to do when 50 cals can start effectively shooting from well over 1 km away. 190s are awesome planes tho, tough learning curve but once you know how to handle them they are more than capable of carrying a match.
it's not wrong the 190 had very strong flaps IRL
Looking at the WT datasheet for the A-8 the listed limits for the landing flaps are 300kmh, the takeoff flaps 700kmh

As someone who just got the a1, I'm struggling to get to grips with it. It climbs like crap, flys with all the grace of a brick, and has such limited cannon ammo. When I saw this version had 500 plus rounds I was astounded cause I have 60 per gun.
I've repeatedly found myself being out turned by fucking corsairs which on paper I should be able to beat. I am mostly stock still and still need time to get used to it I guess.
Air rb in general could use some love imo, more things to do for bombers and such, maybe a respawning system like tank rb...

Dont watch the back because its imposible i just lower takeoff flaps and forcing enemies to overshoot by rolling

Hey Green Fury! I saw you in a match, you were in a Fw 190, and we did a head on and both went up (username: BigBeanerMan) and then your teammate came and kill me. Do you remember that?
ahhhhhh yesssss, lol, Im trying to learn how to do proper headons with it, I hardly do them so i thought why not learn now.
A good tactic that's worked for me is to do a short burst then corkscrew, the Fw 190's roll rate really allows it do be evasive like that.
Yupp, that usually works best, i always do a short burst, roll out, just enough to throw off their aim, then when they try to get guns on you again, i nose down just abit, roll another 180 degrees and pull elevator, you almost end up going right under them. Which allows you to pick up some much needed speed, and makes them do a full turn and bleed some energy before they start to chase you.
Sadly with controllers you are more limited with this maneuver, but it's definitely possible and requires so quick fingers.
I think I’ll prefer the bf-109, as defensive flying on Xbox is a bit harder
But I still love the aesthetic of this plane
I just bought it today. And i said climb, dive, kill, climb, if no kill, run and by that i did actually won 5 matches in a row
On my ps4 I rebinded my mouse aim to the touchpad and if I wanted to defensive fly I jus flick on the touchpad and jus roll
This is one of the best defensive manoeuvres at your disposal in my opinion
You the shit don't get me wrong, but fuck id love to fight the planes these youtubers fight, they just sit there and get hit. And id really appreciate more Bf/FWs vs Yaks or J2Ms videos.

I usually just speed away in a straight line because most fighters are too slow to catch me . Then i quickly turn around and head on them , usually win because of the explosive cannons .

Great video. I think I'm just too stupid to understand this stuff and get better. I don't know what's wrong with me that I struggle so much to grasp and apply BFM and ACM in game. I can read about it and watch videos all day, but I never seem to improve or actually know what to do when I need to.
Practice in test flight and play around with the maneuvers. Imagine there is a enemy plane on you if that helps.

Regarding your trick about looking backward while rolling? Personally I just bind (mouse look activation) to space bar and pitch up to a thumb button on my mouse.

WT's flight model is junk, and not just for the 190. The entire thing is really very gamey, and so much so it leaves historical accuracy behind in favor of eye candy and a participation trophy. I'll stick to Aces High.

i have been in test flight for ages and still can't do this manover
hi, how can you look back and drag the mouse back. When I do that I look backwards and now I can't control the plane. It flies stubbornly straight ahead. Where can I adjust this? Greeting from Austria
Does this still work with the current patch? When I roll and flick the mouse cursor behind , the plane pitches up following the direction of the cursor. Am I doing something wrong?
I tried this , but some enemies rather like to ram me than overshoot...

I never seem to get enough lift to do anything than just full pull or just roll. I’m rolling and jinking and doing scissors but they never seem to get much closer

So i look back, stop the engine, im opening the flaps, they also stop the engine and never overshoot...what am i doing wrong?
Alexandru Rares Pascu enemies know what your doing, unfortunately with the fw190s, if you are caught w low energy, and the enemy doesn’t fall for an overshoot, you are most likely going to die. You can’t climb away and you can’t out maneuver them, or run away, so just keep trying to defensive fly and you might be lucky. Either way don’t beat yourself up. Sometimes you just don’t get out alive

How do you do it on PS4?
Use the a mixture of the touch pad to move the cursor fast, and sticks for normal manoeuvres

Start the roll and move your cursor vertical while still rolling. Increase cursor speed if you need too

in a d9 against a spitfire this works really well, cos the acceleration in a lower alt in a d9 is insane

109 is weird now, like you can but you have to know for sure your lock up and brick up speeds

well couple of patches ago the roll rate was great in it right, than its tail got nerfed, when I do the maneuvers it wobbles a bit. also the flaps have been nerfed badly, Once upon a time using flaps with the combination of defensive maneuvers, bf 109 could easily go up against the spitfire, you still can with a bf 109 just have to be carefull
Kiệt Trần, you absolutley can do this in a 109, they're lighter planes so tend to slow down a little quicker which is better for over shoots, but you do have to use rudder and ailerons together to pull this off in a 109, otherwise the roll is just too slow. Using rudder makes a wider loop than just aileron rolls too, so could even be a harder target.
