The advantage to having Prime to me is easy returns and streaming (free) movies & TV shows. AMZ needs to be broken up. It seems once it became a movie studio, the fees and Prime membership has increased. And yes, the Chinese sellers are 50% of the sellers. I wonder if they pay FBA fees to warehouse like American do? I know a lot of sellers are going more and more to Ebay.
Someone on TT with a prime account showed an item she wanted to buy was priced higher than the same on her two adult children's regular accounts. Amazon added almost the entire shipping cost onto her price. Suggest checking future purchases to see whether or not this is a systemic issue.

Sometimes the only place that has the items is amazon....many stores that used to be are defunct or totally gone. It makes it difficult to buy local any longer.
Bezos is already out of that business. He made his billions. Doesn't care. Everyone at amazon is probably "just doing my job" and running the business by profit numbers. Now America is left with an online shopping addiction and are left dealing either getting ripped off or having to go through withdraw via having to shop elsewhere. Even dare I say...making a shopping list and spending the day going to stores.
75 to 85 % of Amazon goods are absolute crap with fake or limited reviews . The only thing Amazon is good at is making Bozo, sorry Bezos , a richer man than he already is.
They switch products to move reviews for one product to another. For example you might be ordering something electronic like a computer with a high rating. But if you read the reviews it will say things like "I love these earbuds". The seller built good reviews for earbuds, then changed the product hoping to trick buyers that the new item is highly rated.
This video is sooo timely. I literally noticed those price increases this week. I was buying a cold medicine day/night pack - it cost $21 on Amazon but $13 at Walmart…the exact same product.
Research what Walmart has done to the grocery stores in every city, how much they pay their employees and the work environment they have. Walmart's buying power (Costco is like this also) pushes the prices down so low from all major brands that these brands then make the middle-size and small-size buyers (local grocery stores) pay higher prices to make up the difference in lost profits. They essentially drive all other grocery stores out of business. And Walmart used to be affordable, but they are increasing their prices faster than inflation also. Now it's cheaper to shop at Asian, Latino and Aldi/Lidle stores than Walmart. Stop shopping at Walmart for stuff you can get at other stores for less money.
Literally, exactly 💯. I literally just left this exact same comment, saying I went back to Walmart and Home Depot, 1 to 2 minutes before seeing yours loll
Amazon is truly going downhill. I often think it is better to buy things in person if you can. You get it right away, don’t need to wait and worry about porch pirates.
As a prime buyer, we're done. There annual fee is out of our price range, will not renew for 2025. Use fee money to buy else on the web or in person a local store.
That's easy to say if you don't do business. Sad part is many home based businesses are fueled by Amazon and it's prices and delivery times. So many stores have closed down and products no longer stocked they are almost the only viable source anymore
Such a ridiculous comment that I had to go to your profile and check what you really are. And that’s when I realized you’re a bot. This is the only comment you’ve posted in 10 years. Get the fuck out of here.
@@mementomori29231 They are all that way because buyers let them because they want cheap prices rather than paying a little more for the mom n pop shops that can not compete. Try buying food that isn't poison anymore, the prices are ridiculous because they are competing against a handful of corporations that buy up any competition of a certain size.
And don't forget Prime Music that comes with your Prime subscription. There's less music in that library and Alexa is constantly trying to sell you the additional subscription.
very simple solution people, quit Amazon. I've been Prime since day one. My renewal is up in Dec. I'm not renewing. Commercials on Prime movies and pricing on merch did me in.
@@notme2day I actually kinda do. I've been ordering 4 to 1 from Temu over Amazon. Stuff is so much cheaper it's scary. The drawback, some shippers are slow, but it always shows up. Cheers
I've actually slowly started shopping back at regular stores again. Homegoods / TJ Maxx / Marshall's - most of the home goods, beauty, haircare I need are nearly 1/2 the price at those stores. Also, back to buying clothes in real life because every single time I try to give anything from Amazon a chance I return it - horrible quality.
That is true. It used to be that amazon was the cheapest. Nit anymore. I can consistently find price in other websites to be lower for certain products. That was not like that 10 years ago. Also, counterfeits mean I cannot buy sneakers, watches or cologne from Amazon.
Amazingly clear analysis and explanation! This stuff can be confusing even to people that are paying attention. Steve - you keep doing a great job pulling back the curtain!
Yes. Amazon doesn't support the buyer of these crappy products and will not step in on your behalf when a Chinese company sells very subpar products. For this reason, I always check the return policy, read all the negative reviews, and research if it's sold on Temu or Aliexpress. It feels like half the vendors on Amazon (for craft and homewares) are the exact same product I see on Temu for half the cost.
I don't follow. Amazon IS third party sellers. Almost every product on Amazon going back to the beginning of them being more than a bookstore was sold by another company and fulfilled by Amazon, right?
Amazon is essentially a monopoly. WalMart+ does not even come close, unfortunately. Anytime a company becomes a monopoly, they tend to adopt a "take it or leave it" attitude, and Amazon is no exception.
Now they've got all these customers that have bankrupt stores now they're going to up their price because there's no other stores to go to anymore they've all gone out of business
How do people not understand that ~50% of a market is NOT a monopoly? You just named another major brand in the same space. There are also thousands of online retailers you can go to directly to buy just about anything you want. I frequently buy from other sites for various reasons ranging from price, to availability. Please, stop claiming something is a monopoly because you don't want to change your behavior, or others aren't engaging in the behavior you want because they place different value on things than you.
Sad. I'm over 80 years old and have seen this game played many times. You can go back to the telephone companies years ago. They had to be split up but gradually, after the split, wound up rigging things again. So we'll see what happens this time. Why people always seem to wind getting greedier when they get wealthy.....go figure....seems like they would want to do some good with a lot of the money they have stockpiled.
Weird, it's almost like the government interfering in the economy by breaking up companies is ineffective at improving things for consumers, particularly when the government supports the monopoly in the first place.
First, consumers pay all cost for everything. 2nd, just watched a vid few weeks ago that claimed Amazon is telling sellers thier price is too high. If you want to tap Amazon's customer base then you must play by their rules. I use prime for zero shipping cost and 2 day shipping. I was getting 3 to 5 packages per week. Now, 2 day shipping is gone for me and returns are like jumping through hoops so I now buy about 1 item a month and have canceled prime. I like checking an item in person locally even if it cost more. I am disappointed much less now and total spending is down.
I'm a very cautious shopper always comparing Amazon to Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot and Costco before I buy. I prefer Amazon because of Prime of course, but I also take that into consideration vs getting free shipping at the others for a minimum order that offers it since I rely on shipping for items I buy.
Their increase in prices has been obvious for years ! - Personally I now just use them as a convenient reference to collect information - & then go & buy it elsewhere !
I noticed that a lot of the products that I used to buy on Amazon during lockdowns are more expensive and of lesser quality on Amazon than at the stores near my place. So, I just don't order from Amazon unless I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else.
Same. Many things I see on Amazon now are more expensive than in retail stores. Case in point, Maxipaw sprinkler heads are about $17 at Home Depot, and about $30 on Amazon.
I have never had Prime. $180 will pay for a lot of shipping if needed fast. The $35 minimum order for shipping is easy to reach and I can normally wait a couple of extra days. I normally will check Amazon prices against Walmart or other sellers before ordering.
Except that my orders easily exceeded the $35.00 threshold and yet Amazon was still charging me shipping. The shipping cost exceeded the cost of the item. The other thing is that they try to sneak a subscription to Prime into the cart. I canceled my membership. I am experiencing some withdrawal, but I will prevail.
I personally think Amazon peaked and is now starting its collapse. As a prime member I've noticed I get less and less value from shopping with them. This will be my last year as a prime member - its just not worth the fees anymore and we need to start supporting local retailers or we loose that choice.
Well that's your personal opinion good for you. Me personally I buy all my spices and almost everything I buy is from Amazon and the prices are always cheaper than anywhere else. And the price that I paid for free shipping is nothing because it's not just free shipping. It's also for music and awesome videos. I paid that much every year just to have a streaming service so why is it so expensive when you also get music and shipping? Also free photos storage. And the wonderful 6 or 12 months same as cash!
@ thx - yes the 1 lb bags of organic spices are awesome - my biggest concern is all the local vendors going out of business and then options are limited. It always amazes me when - like yesterdays order -5 items at once asked for 1 shipment and I got 5 seperate drivers dropping off packages 📦 - bad business model imho
They don't staff employees enough, and cashiers are too-slow, they don't give an impression that they want you there in a store anymore, and Goodluck finding what you are looking for in there, wasting a Full day, finding nothing...
It’s like Netflix-only worse. There was a golden age of streaming. There was also a golden age of Amazon when it was more pro consumer than not. Antitrust action is warranted. Capitalism is great when it’s balanced with strong regulation; otherwise it eats the competition, then when it’s the only game in town jacks the prices on both seller and buyer. That’s where we’re at now. Eventually when big enough it buys favorable government regulation by paying for political favor. We’ve seen it all before in other industries… pharmaceuticals, fossil fuels. Once it reaches that point the little guy doesn’t stand a chance.
Don't forget that it's also partly due to consumers having unfair expectations at times. People got too used to the quick returns or using things and than expecting a 100% return. It goes both ways. Amazon getting too big for their britches and consumers expecting no repercussions for their own buying habits. Honestly, I have no issue with prime and I'm very picky about what I buy. I spend a lot of time making sure I'm getting the best deal I can and I order things to ensure I get the fastest shipping and lowest prices. Being a smart shopper is important no matter where you buy. And I've never had an issue with returns. They refund my account and I make sure I take care of the item I'm returning. I also take pics of something if I have concerns. Consumers need to take some responsibility for the issues.
The simple answer is that it costs money to have other people gather the items in your online shopping cart, package them, and deliver them to your door. When you need a lot of stuff, especially heavy stuff, it makes far more sense to go to a local store in your car and do your own shopping because the money you spend on gasoline and the time you spend driving to the store and back are fixed costs. And delivery vans from Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, etc. seem to be be more limited by weight than volume. It's hard for Amazon to justify delivering cases of soda or gallons of milk because the profit on the sale doesn't justify the space and/or weight allocation in the delvery truck, but if someone orders a diamond ring, the profit is huge compared to the delivery cost. Also, even though we are paying for free delivery through our prime memberships, the prices of goods are also artificially high to reflect delivery costs. This is very evident if you compare the total cost of staples like milk. Amazon and your local grocer probably pay very similar amounts per gallon from dairies. If anything, Amazon would be paying less because their order quantities are higher. But Amazon will charge way more than you pay at your grocery store because they have to pack the delivery fee into the price. If they quoted separate shipping, everyone would say "screw that, I'm not waiting around for the deivery AND paying a lot for it when I can just hop in my car and be back in 20 minutes".
I never buy through Amazon... I try to buy from local businesses even if it costs a bit more. Amazon is not for customers, and that has finally shown itself. Never a fan and never will be.
Not first documentary about Amazon affecting way more than just the sellers on their platform ... was planning on selling on Amazon but the more I learn the more I am doubting
Don't hold your breath about the fine doing anything, Bezos will just work around that and in the end the resellers and customers will be paying for it. As for a break up ... I remember the same commotion with Microsoft some decades ago ... that too didn't go anywhere.
I'm so tired of hearing comments like "guess who is paying the extra fees/increases?" It's always the consumer. The supplier NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER pays out of their own pocket. That's the whole point of businesses - they pass on ALL costs to the customer. Stop saying this stupid comment as if it's new or unknown. The only question by consumers should be: Is the price increase worth the product?
Of course the supplier doesn't. No different than cooperate taxes, its a "back door tax on consumers" as corporations just add to the price. Cooperates taxes are always a tax on We The People.
Amazon stole $300 from me and the item that I returned to them. I returned to them Bose headphones because the battery was defective and not only did they keep the merchandise but they kept my money and there was no recourse despite the fact that I reported it to multiple consumer protection agencies.
I'm pretty much done buying on Amazon after their reps lied to me on a couple of returns. I also have heard the horrror stories from people who bought expensive items and did not get their money back. Let my prime expire over the summer.
Yep. 23 year EX Prime member. They dropped the ball three times when UPS did not show then told me my $400 rice cooker could not be returned as it was now past the return date,
@ I don’t have credit cards. I don’t believe in them. However, I did make out okay as I bought it on the Amazon payment plan…using my PP card. So, in the end I ended up paying for only half of the cost, and I simply left my PP account with no money on it. I contacted Amazon again and told them if they were willing to send me a prepaid shipping label and guarantee I would receive a full refund, I would do that. Never heard back from them.
Impossible to speak with a real human being if you have problems with an order--horrible. I buy a lot of stuff from Amaz😅n but their customer service has been disappointing lately. They send me boxes that are so heavy that I can't into my house without the box ripping apart and contents spilling out on my steps. My heart goes out to the Amazon delivery people that have to deliver overweight boxes to my home because Amazon ferls I shoukd be able to drag a 40 pound box from my front door steps into my home
First thing I did was drop Prime. I was a little addicted to 2 day delivery but honestly order comes 2-4 days regular delivery. Returning items is a hassle for me. No printer and live 15 minutes from drop off. Then I just put stuff in cart, came back next day and removed most things. Then I just quit going to Amazon altogether. Tough love… I got tired of iffy quality anyway. I’ve quit most shopping altogether. I only buy minimal gifts for children in family for birthdays. No Christmas presents. They don’t care..they get so much all year long. I’m back to buying local in order to keep local stores available. Might cost a little more but easy returns, friendly service and I buy what I need without adding a few extra items to cart. Grocery shopping in a small local grocery store saves me a lot. There’s not as many choices but has the basics without enticing me to buy an extra $20 on unneeded items.
I have been buying from Ebay for the past maybe 16years, through living in 3 diff countries and i have made "maybe" 3 to 5 bad business. Which in at least 3 got my money back (Obviously you need to do your own thorough research) mostly from US Sellers or US Located sellers. And i have never been robbed. So I'll stick with EBay
Excellent video! I've been seeing a lot of this over the past couple of years, slowly creeping in. Another stock market company in blunder. People said I was being narcissistic about Amazon. I said, "No, some day the truth will come out about what's happening at Amazon." - Thanks for bringing it into the light.
They made the choice to shut out individual sellers forcing them to use ebay, and now it's costing them volume. I used to sell tons on Amazon, and now sell zero.
Amazon used to be my go to, but I have noticed higher prices, poor quality products, slower shipping and fake reviews. I have been moving away from Amazon.
I check the amazon pricing against the prices of the vendor and frequently the pricing from the vendor is less expensive than buying the goods through amazon.
Amazon has been selling fake batteries for tools, Dewalt and Milwaukee battery packs that are labeled and packaged to look like OEM but use substandard cells.
We benchmark Amazon price with those from Aliexpress, Ebay, Temu and other retailers. Many times, Amazon prices are just ridiculous! We skip Amazon for sourcing... Amazon at the end of day will just loose out if their price is not competitive. We, as consumers, have plenty of cheaper places to source exactly the same item. I find that i rarely buy from Amazon now, except the rare and bulky USA made professional hardware tools, such as heavy duty rivet guns, which i know a cheap product will fail quickly and can never do the job required, then i spend big and get the proper tool. Here, Amazon price may be competitive, because local retailers selling these tools at a high price 😂😆👌 But sorry to say, Amazon is slowing fading out from our list of best sources, as it is being replaced by Aliexpress.
Sold on Amazon for three years. Pulled the plug in 2020. I made nothing. Enough is enough, I'm done. The golden years of Amazon 2010 to 2015 are long, long gone. You could do no wrong then. I missed that boat.
Perhaps you weren’t selling very good products or you didn’t calculate your figures well. I know FBA definitely has its negatives but I started selling on Amazon in 2020 and have been selling as my full time job for the last couple of years. You have to put the work in but it can be lucrative
@@edward92128 If by 'putting in the work' do you mean paying for Amazon ads.? Amazon ads distort keyword searches so much that they become nearly useless for customer searches. Even if a customer knows a product text word for word the customer will get pages and pages of slighly relevant and completely irrelevant products shown to them (that are heavily advertised) before they find the exact product they are searching for if ever, ten pages in. It would be best if no one advertised on Amazon and let keywords reign supreme. Better for sellers, and especially better for customers. But very bad for Amazon.
My experience has been that ebay has always been cheaper than Amazon. Many sellers on ebay don't charge shipping. Walmart is also cheaper based on my search 2 days ago for the same item..... however ebay was also the cheapest when shipping was included.
We always charge lower prices on ebay than on amazon for obvious reasons: ebay fees are lower than amazon's. It's not fair to ebay and to consumers if we charge the same prices.
My experience has been different. Perhaps it's because of my heavier products but FBA is cheaper than eBay. And the traffic to the listings is just incomparable
Wow, it's like Amazon is turning sellers into gimps! I've been saying for years that if you're solely on FBA, you don't have a business, you have a sellers account.
Here's my bottom line as a consumer: So long as Amazon prices are competitive with the prices at brick and mortar retail stores and so long as Amazon gets my item to me quickly, purchasing through Amazon works for me. When either of those two factors cease to be true, Amazon will lose me as a customer.
Amazon told all of us they were investing in robotics to improve packaging and delivery. Not sure what they did instead, but I'm not surprised they are jacking up fees and reducing service.
Amazon was good but that was then. Now the prices are much higher, the delivery much slower, they charge extra for movies that we once part of the deal, the policies for seller is horrible and alternative choices look so much better. I see no reason to continue my membership.
Thé unfortunate truth is I cannot find certain products at certain price points anywhere else and using Amazon is an easy solution and time saver. They have heavily contributed to killing the retail landscape leaving folks like me no option but to grudgingly continue to use them. It would seem to me that the tactic you described will come back to bite them.
5:59 An entire stock of 24 jars of Vegemite that I ordered showed at my (own retail shipping store) completed smashed. Not one jar was usable or presentable as there were shards of glass everywhere. Amazon had me take pic’s and, based on that, interpreted that they would refund only 6 jars of value. There was Vegemite everywhere, and all jars were broken. About 12 of them were decapitated, the other half caved in. It was an FBA fulfillment by Amazon order, 3 days late incidentally , and I am certain the seller took the hit. The jars were not packed, but simply thrown into a box with no bubble wrap, no protection at all. If you are a merchant, build your own site and think of other additional channels of sales. The days of making money on Amazon are over.
I had worked at Amazon Fulfillment center for 5years. I have never had a Prime membership nor do my family members. I only shop from Amazon when they are the only place carries what I look for. I always buy from small mom n pop’s stores as much as possible n encourage everyone to do same. One more hint: never buy food items such as cakes n candy from Amazon. The edible items are randomly stored with other toxic n chemicals such as herbicides n engine oil and the list goes on. How do I know? I worked there for 5 years
I've never ever had any problems with returns! Amazon never questioned my returns! I don't abuse return privileges!!! I am not a Prime member and have never been!
So not just Amazon but Google, Facebook and many other large conglomerates should be investigated for their Monopoly practices just like IBM & AT&T were in the past.
I live down the freaking street from the Amazon warehouse and they are consistently late delivering my packages. I’m always on the phone complaining about late they are. I hate Amazon.
I track my packages and will sit up to 4 days at destination just to be delivered on due date and I leave 2 miles from a filament center. I'm still not going for prime because I feel it is being crammed down my throat when I meet the minimum free shipping deliberately delayed.
I have noticed that the quality of products I buy from Amazon has gone down dramatically. I'd say that 50% of my most recent purchases turned out to be extremely poor quality Chinese products. I now no longer trust Amazon reviews. Nor do I trust any brand on Amazon that is new to me.
Now I price compare with Ebay and other sites. Why pay for new on Amazon when used but nearly new, new old stock, will do at significantly low prices. I think people will go back to going to local stores with a good return policy. Essential clothing at Sam's Club/Costco is unbeatable. Got new jeans at local Macy's Last Chance clearance rack for just $5. Online shopping has peaked.
I have Amazon Prime and often don’t get my items within two days. I do think that the return policy changed due to abuse by customers. People getting undue refunds because they lie about not getting items they did receive.
The new refund policy might be a reaction to people returning goods with parts missing or a swap with a similar looking item that is defective. Amazon looks at their profit margin, there are people that will scam any system. But from Amazon's inception, I saw deceptive practices.
Amazon's old return policy was way too liberal, we had scads of stuff returned 28 days after it was received, that had never been opened. It was like people were buying stuff and returning it as a hobby.
I've been cancelling more and more. I have found that I have to check prices on each item every month as the prices will be higher on the subscribe and save. It is becoming more and more time consuming to use it.
Very informative- thank you. I have noticed a slew of very cheaply made Chinese products on Amazon. The tricky part is that they don’t disclose where the item is made. I bought a kitchen item and it said “Norwegian Design” in the description but when it arrived it was made in China. In addition, it arrived broken. It wasn’t easy to return … they wanted a detailed description and photos of the damage but didn’t accept my uploaded format … it was very frustrating I am 100% committed to not buy Chinese products but retailers don’t make it easy - hope to see a change in the future
We had a house fire in 2013 and I had to list more than a thousand items that had been damaged for insurance. I priced them by going to Amazon, Walmart and EBay. That’s when I had a clear picture of Amazon’s pricing being regularly higher than Walmart. If price matters, compare!
I already did as soon as they cut their two day delivery option. Why pay $16 a month for subpar service? 🤷♂️ Jeff Bezos and his corporate butt buddies can sit on it and *rotate* .
I will keep my Prime membership, thank you! And, I will continue to shop at Amazon and enjoy the great prices and the efficient service that I receive!🤷🏼♀️
Fun fact. I live in small European EU country and buy since and then Amazon Germany. In my country prices usually are higher than in Germany, but couple years ago prices start to equalize. Now they are same than in local market. So I buy only things I can not buy locally, or mail orders has much higher prices . Amazon has got too greedy and things are like Aliexpress or other Chinese sellers.
Get on their branding program with something at least a little unique that you can be the manufacturer for. This means you don't fight for a buy box, you're the only seller for the item(s), listings hijackers aside. I'm not sure if, when in this position, the buy box disappears if your item is cheaper elsewhere, it wouldn't matter anyway, the listing would still be there. Diversify and sell on other platforms as fast as you can too, that's what we're trying. Interestingly, how many Chinese cheap sellers that have made a tonne are going to leave, due to the new rules? Will Amazon become more favourable for sellers now?
I bailed on Prime when they jacked up the price AND wanted to charge for commercial free movies - the biggest benefit in my book. So paying for Prime was no longer justified in my book. I can watch movies with ads elsewhere but never do because I hate ads.
Trust me. Return policy is like that cause a lot of people used to take advantage of it & get free electronics , items you name it. People get extra packages or laptop on a gated community you call em & tell customer service that delivery driver didn’t follow notes or whatever & they refund you all. That’s reason. + the delivery times. Trust me when I tell you Amazon delivery drivers are jammed with packages. They are just humans. Be patient
I don't disagree with these points but I also take into consideration if I have to drive to town, drive to several stores to find what I'm looking for, I've just spent time and gas. Some products aren't sold locally at all. Best practice, use multiple approaches. Buy what I can locally, price check multiple retailers online for items that aren't available locally, factor in shipping, and try to get the best deal. Yes it's time consuming to shop online also.
Well if the Democrats weren't acting so weak & dumb and rolled over like an abused dog instead of demanding a recount on all of the R states that LIED Deceitfully that the orange shit stain anti-Christ won the most electorals we wouldn't be facing that.

I don’t have prime. Most anything I order comes earlier than they say it will.
It takes 5 days now
Almost everything I buy on amazon arrives the next day. Many things arrive the same day. It just depends where you live.
Not for me. Many times I order something in the afternoon and it arrives the next morning. Guess it depends on where you live.
One day delivery in UK
Buyers with Prime should be the next to sue Amazon because we pay for a service like 2 day shipping but don't receive the service we pay for
Exactly! It is getting beyond ridiculous that you get notifications saying delayed
Yup, “free” delivery but only applied to certain “sellers” 🙄
The advantage to having Prime to me is easy returns and streaming (free) movies & TV shows.

Prices always go up just before black Friday. They can then show a supposedly massive reduction percentage.
Always compare prices before making any purchase. Always. 😊
ALWAYS COMPARE PRICES !!!! 😢
@@Ghengiskhansmum Noticed this on all the items I look at lately.
I try not to purchase from Amazon unless it's an item I can't source locally. Amazon is a location of last resort.
Exactly, same here
💯
Why
Agree.
Same. Im quite relieved to see others feel the same.
I just stopped buying certain things on Amazon. They’ve raised prices too much on things I order regularly. I now purchase them from Walmart.
Literally, exactly 💯. I literally just left this exact same comment, saying I went back to Walmart and Home Depot, 1 to 2 minutes before seeing yours loll
Yay, now you can help rob workers even more while taxpayers subsidize your cheap prices. But at least you can get your cheap Asian made plastic crap.
I'm buying so much more from other vendors now, it's amazing. Amazon is becoming a non starter more and more by the day for me.
Amazon is truly going downhill. I often think it is better to buy things in person if you can. You get it right away, don’t need to wait and worry about porch pirates.
Thank you for advice.😊
As a prime buyer, we're done. There annual fee is out of our price range, will not renew for 2025. Use fee money to buy else on the web or in person a local store.
The answer is simple... Stop buying.
That's easy to say if you don't do business. Sad part is many home based businesses are fueled by Amazon and it's prices and delivery times. So many stores have closed down and products no longer stocked they are almost the only viable source anymore
@newmonengineering perhaps people should try offering real value to the marketplace instead of flooding the market with the same shitty products.
The answer is simple… they just robbed us blind, do not be obedient
Such a ridiculous comment that I had to go to your profile and check what you really are. And that’s when I realized you’re a bot. This is the only comment you’ve posted in 10 years. Get the fuck out of here.
Amazon is still the best place to buy. Competitors is now close and gone.
We should all unite and stop buying from Amazon; what they’re doing has become downright disrespectful
And supporting a certain politician.
I have been SCREAMING about this since forever...I think Jeff would join the rapist in the diaper department.
Problem is there are not many good alternatives. eBay is a dumpster fire. Walmart...is Walmart.
Then your have temu and sheib. Same scummy players and same sheety products.
How about an additional lawsuit for prime video. People who's been on prime for a long time are basically now paying the same price to watch ads.
Recently added extortion trick. Good call. They should be paying us to watch the damn commercials.
Jeeze it's annoying too.
You can pay like $3 and never see another ad
And don't forget Prime Music that comes with your Prime subscription. There's less music in that library and Alexa is constantly trying to sell you the additional subscription.
Yer
very simple solution people, quit Amazon. I've been Prime since day one. My renewal is up in Dec. I'm not renewing. Commercials on Prime movies and pricing on merch did me in.
Ahhh ... I'm guessing you don't live rural?!
Excellent point! Commercials did it for me.
@@notme2day I actually kinda do. I've been ordering 4 to 1 from Temu over Amazon. Stuff is so much cheaper it's scary. The drawback, some shippers are slow, but it always shows up. Cheers
Did you move to another system?
Same.
Too many fake Chinese sellers
Amazingly clear analysis and explanation! This stuff can be confusing even to people that are paying attention. Steve - you keep doing a great job pulling back the curtain!
As one of the first Amazon Prime members, it is getting close to when I will cancel my membership.
Me too. I have been a client since 1998.
Cancelled mine a long time ago. Support small retailers that don't treat their workers like semi slaves. And have a huge dislike of Bezos.
I hate the 3rd party sellers, letting them in was when amazon went downhill.
I left it. No big loss for me. But I’m just this guy. 😂
We’re old enough to know that “trickle down” never happens.
@@ldygzlle1291neither does the centrally planned fake economy of the past four years.
Their lightning deals are a scam. They jack the price up before discount. Which isn't a discount anymore. I'll just go to brick-and-mortar store
I NEVER EVER SHOP AT AMAZON .....NO WAY. BOYCOTT THEM...
They love to use 'list price' (MSRP) to make their deals sound so good. But they sometimes like 'typical' price which is a lot more honest.
I hate how after buying something, a way cheaper item appear on my feed 😳
@@matthewronssonthis has gotten really bad lately
So do brick and mortar stores. Where have people been? 😂
Thanks for the video. I didn't know any of this. There seems to be sleaze, corruption and greed everywhere.
Biased video, in my opinion!
Corporations are not friends of consumers, and that is the bottom line.
I don’t mind higher price if I get good quality products but Amazon’s products are not good anymore. I buy less and less.
I checked what I ordered from Amazon this year. Nothing. I saved 100%. And I don't belong to Prime.
I have never had Prime. $180 will pay for a lot of shipping if needed fast. The $35 minimum order for shipping is easy to reach and I can normally wait a couple of extra days. I normally will check Amazon prices against Walmart or other sellers before ordering.
Exactly.
I do this also.
I do the same
Me too!
It always amazes me when - like yesterdays order -5 items at once asked for 1 shipment and I got 5 seperate drivers dropping off packages 📦 - bad business model imho
buy locally whenever possible if you want local stores to exist tomorrow.
It's not always possible. I have a local Target & Home Depot, but when I search for goods, it's either on AMZ or Temu and not Target & HD.
Sure by local and pay 200% more for the same item with a crap warranty/guarantee return program
They don't staff employees enough, and cashiers are too-slow, they don't give an impression that they want you there in a store anymore, and Goodluck finding what you are looking for in there, wasting a Full day, finding nothing...
@@admtahoeIt depends as often times things are cheaper in store.
I doubt that any Antitrust enforcement will happen over the next four years or any sort of consumer friendly polices.
Facts. Not sure why your video showed up on my feed, but Im thankful it did.
Ebay.
Start your own site. Get your own customers
BS. You can report it to your Credit Card provider and cancel the transaction. Most likely you were cheating on Amazon.
@sircorn4248 no stupid. I spent 8 months fighting it. Mind your own business. Bot liar.

A monopoly. Im so sick of cheap crap.
I dumped Prime. Not going to be a victim.
I stop shopping at Whole Foods after it was swallowed by Amazon. Amazon killed the spirit of it.
@@edward92128 I am very tech minded and was doing my own accounting. Sourcing products that I could make a profit on was always my problem.
I've said it for years that Walmart and Amazon have gotten too big for their britches. I avoid both if possible.
Yes. Especially since the private prisons use them for slave labor.
You did a phenomenal job explaining this, thank you.
Amazon prices are rarely better than physical stores anymore.
Wow! Had no idea. Thanks. Would love to hear your analysis of Ebay.
Recently I've noticed items in Amazon are more expensive than eBay, walmart, Lowes or other online retailers.
Just bought an item from Amazon, it was $23 when I checked out. It became $25.61, before it was delivered..it was also 5 days late.
Great video! You are always ahead of the game with your information!
I worked there for 5 years
People are slowly realising that Amazon is just filled with overpriced junk.
Me Too. The warehouse is 1 mile from me. Always Late
Thank you for taking time to educate us🙏🏽👱🏻♀️ It makes it easier for everyone to make decisions on where or who we buy from…
i dropped amazon because they dont deliver and now pay for commercials on there tv service.... will never use amazon again
I have noticed that the quality of products I buy from Amazon has gone down dramatically. I'd say that 50% of my most recent purchases turned out to be extremely poor quality Chinese products. I now no longer trust Amazon reviews. Nor do I trust any brand on Amazon that is new to me.
I have had a led light fail and the vendor said we will send you a new one free if you write a 5 star review and show us the link.
I was considering canceling prime, they’re worst than Walmart now.
I have Amazon Prime and often don’t get my items within two days. I do think that the return policy changed due to abuse by customers. People getting undue refunds because they lie about not getting items they did receive.
Pretty sure now it is 2 days from when it is shipped. Even then it sometimes takes a day or two longer.
corporate greed. i barely use amazon anymore.
I compare prices before buying anything of consequence. Most times I can’t find what I want locally.
I want to drop Amazon and cable news! Fear & Greed always becomes the downfall of the human existence.
Amazon also sends used products as new, but then makes buyers jump through these hoops to receive what they paid for (a new product).
Thank you
Finally someone has the knackers to say it AS IT IS...
Sounds like an American Temu .
Same tactics as Temu, squeeze the suppliers.
Exactly!
I'm not going to lie, I'm a Temu addict at this point 😂 I'm telling you, I promise, they ship even faster than Amazon now 😳
If you think Amazon in the U.S. is bad, you should see the pricing on the Cdn site...🙄
I used to have a good subscription list. However, the increase in costs for my products has me canceling all my subscriptions.
It wasn’t easy to return … they wanted a detailed description and photos of the damage but didn’t accept my uploaded format … it was very frustrating
I am 100% committed to not buy Chinese products but retailers don’t make it easy - hope to see a change in the future
You just answered my lingering question of why my returned item was not fully refunded.
I have returned numerous items to Amazon, and never had a problem with getting a full refund!!
We had a house fire in 2013 and I had to list more than a thousand items that had been damaged for insurance. I priced them by going to Amazon, Walmart and EBay. That’s when I had a clear picture of Amazon’s pricing being regularly higher than Walmart. If price matters, compare!
Thanks for creating this video
I don’t see what’s happening. I haven’t seen that at all. I don’t know. I haven’t had any problems with returns at all.
Don’t sign up for Prime and if you are a member, cancel. That will get the attention.
I already did as soon as they cut their two day delivery option. Why pay $16 a month for subpar service? 🤷♂️
Jeff Bezos and his corporate butt buddies can sit on it and *rotate* .
They also use surge pricing, where prices of goods day to day increase and decrease based on demand.
true, thanks for the info
I bailed on Prime when they jacked up the price AND wanted to charge for commercial free movies - the biggest benefit in my book. So paying for Prime was no longer justified in my book. I can watch movies with ads elsewhere but never do because I hate ads.
prime doesn't mean 2 day shipping anymore
Be patient
Very informative!
Thank you for the value you provide!
Except a Prime membership is $139 annually. I just paid for mine.
Video is a bit biased against Amazon, in my opinion.
You think it’s expensive now, wait until the 60% tariff hits us.
Wait until all those foreign companies drop their tarrifs on the USA...
Well if the Democrats weren't acting so weak & dumb and rolled over like an abused dog instead of demanding a recount on all of the R states that LIED Deceitfully that the orange shit stain anti-Christ won the most electorals we wouldn't be facing that.
I try to check prices and quality before buying, and Amazon rarely wins anymore.
