I've only just run across your postings, and wish I'd seen them earlier. I've worked on mostly old machines most of my life, and "the cul-de-sac" has provided some of the more interesting, operational older bikes, among people, not museums, I've ever seen. I had a 37 WLA at one time, and two dozen bikes from the fifties through the eighties, I've got a custom built Harley, I put together in 95, and I'm looking at a 77 triumph I hope to buy in the next few days, to replace the 64 TR6R I sold in 83, coming back from Beirut, we went to in 82. I spent two decades a marine, and ended up leaving many bikes and cars behind, as I moved constantly. I've seldom seen so many beautiful bikes, with proud owners, rightfully proud, in one little cul-de-sac. I've just enjoyed this past week as seldom since my wife died, two years ago next month. We both have lived with multiple sclerosis, some thirty years, I looked away from riding, caring for her the last five years, and only been able to return to that world, in part because of the beauty of the older bikes. I believe I can retire now. Thanks for all the friends you've invited over, to share their joy, something I'm just beginning to also share again. I hope I can meet you someday soon.
Work of art. You don't see many, apart from in a museum which is a shame . Surprisingly at a classic show here in Scotland a few years ago 4 had been ridden in to the show .
Thanks Mike, truly a once in a life time visitor to yer house🇬🇧👍. Understandable the owner doesn't want to expose the lovelies whereabouts. But thanks to him for sharing it's beauty✌️😷🇺🇲
Absolutely glorious - well described Mike & great to see it being ridden. Just noticed as he pulled away, the green bungee cord; (presumably) holding up the rear stand - brilliant😎 !
Such a beautiful motorcycle. Every part look like artwork. I really love the attention to detail . Even simple thing like a horn look beautiful. I put similar one on my Bonneville.
Perfection. Thanks to the owner for sharing and to you Mike for making this video. Well presented! Btw I see three “thumbs down” which boggles the mind. There’s no pleasing some folk.
Wow, what a treat seeing and hearing this incredible machine! Very interesting commentary about the history of this touring model of Brough! Thank you kindly!
Thanks Mike. It would have been nice to meet the owner and to get some history about his particular machine. That's what makes this series so special. Nevertheless, I appreciate your friend's desire for privacy. Still ...
An outstanding example, credit to the owner & many thanks for sharing with us. A real 'kick start' for the return of visitors to the 'cul-de-sac'. Thanks as always for all the work that goes into producing this for us guys & gals Mike. atvb t ..
To your guest Mike, & perhaps a few wall hangar quotes... When you're wearing a motorcycle helmet, people don't know who you are. So I just wander around and, yeah, it's pretty awesome. Zac Brown You see, I don't know how to ride a motorcycle, actually. Henry Winkler You know, Motorcycle Diaries has no incredible stories, no sudden plot twists, it doesn't play that way. It's about recognizing that instance of change and embracing it. Gael Garcia Bernal Riding a motorcycle on today's highways, you have to ride in a very defensive manner. You have to be a good rider and you have to have both hands and both feet on the controls at all times. Evel Knievel I don't write under the ghost of Faulkner. I live in the same town and find his life and work inspiring, but that's it. I have a motorcycle and tool along the country lanes. I travel at my own speed. Barry Hannah I've had motorcycle accidents! Ann-Margret
What a magnificent start to this year's cul-de-sac series! I too found your commentary VERY informative. Many thanks to Leona for sharing this treasure! Cheers!
Hi Mike, what a beautiful bike, it’s absolutely gorgeous, the extras on this bike really make it stand out from some of the other models. I still can’t get over just how beautiful 🤩 it is, it’s owner is genuinely lucky 🍀 to own such a stunning piece of motorcycle history. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
Wow Mike, nothing like setting the bar high right of the bat, beautifully presented as per usual looking forward to the next one. Cheers from one of your certainly many followers here in Australia
A lovely machine to kick off the series, Mike. Brough Superiors were indeed marketed as the Rolls-Royce of motorcycles and gained explicit permission to use the phrase after a Rolls executive toured the Brough factory.
There was a Brough SS80 in a small bike shop in Nebraska for years. Id come in to see it and a Vincent Rapide. Then one day the Brough was gone. Broke my heart. I wonder if this is the same bike.
Incredible how many perfect motorcycles you have "around the block". The handle bar grips and controls were way ahead of it s time but still are; with the inside cables etc. In a more user friendly way a Triumph 1938 speed twin is another example of what quality is.
What a treat! Yours are videos I always thumb-up before the 2 or 3 second mark. Your knowledge is impressive and as equally spoken. Thanks as always for sharing.
That has to be one of the most beautiful motorcycle I have ever seen and heard (except for my little ole 2020 Interceptor 650). This was like seeing video of a rare snow leopard.
Hi Phil, that's a good question and I'm pleased to say that every visitor so far has ridden their bike(s) over to the cul-de-sac. That's one of the conditions 😉. One upcoming visitor who drove 4 hours over from central Oregon brought his 2 bikes on a trailer, but that's the only exception so far! Cheers, Mike
Welcome back Mike. And what a beauty to start with.! 👍 How does a bike like a Brough tolerate the gas that is currently available ,i.e. ethanol ? Or does the owner use additives ? Cheers. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
What the heck, how can someone dislike 👎 this videos.
A motorcycle way ahead of it's time.
Been on this earth for 70 years and I’m still seeing/learning new things about old machines 👍! Thanks for the education.
Learned more about Brough in 11 mins than the previous 50 years! Wonderful machine, I see one from time to time at Squires Cafe nr Leeds (England)
Me too 👍

Never see a Brough Out on the road in such original condition. Wonderful piece of motorcycle history thank you Mike
When I see this machine all new bikes look dull, nice video❤️
You’ve outdone yourself, Mike. This will be a benchmark description of Brough for a long time.
Fantastic motorcycle if a bit over restored, for me the "Vincent " is a purest machine with no proprietary engines / gearbox etc , thanks Mike 👍
Work of art. You don't see many, apart from in a museum which is a shame . Surprisingly at a classic show here in Scotland a few years ago 4 had been ridden in to the show .
Ya Hooo..Back to the Cul-de-Sac…😎🇬🇧🏍🇺🇸
A local friend restored an SS100, which I recall were Canadian police bikes of the era.
Tank restoration was especially challenging.
Such a beautiful restoration. Many thanks for sharing

Motorcycle Royalty! These Bike's are the best looking most special ones for Me. 👏👏👏
What a work of art! Beautiful bike! I wish my Ural had the hinged rear fender like this bike! It makes changing the rear tire so much easier.
Beautiful!!! Legendary!!! Rolls Royce of Motorcycle for shure!!!! Take care Mike and God Bless

OMG, fabulous motorcycle, ride, don't hide!!!!
Cool bike. I remember seeing that one at the 2006 Legend of the Motorcycle in Half Moon Bay CA. Lovely then, lovely now.
Very cool Mike.
Thanks Mike. It would have been nice to meet the owner and to get some history about his particular machine. That's what makes this series so special. Nevertheless, I appreciate your friend's desire for privacy. Still ...

What a thing of beauty, from every angle, thanks for sharing, best wishes.
Beautiful. thanks for all the great info on this bike. 1000cc bike back in those days is pretty impressive.
Great bike, great story! Thanks for sharing!

What a start to the new series!
This channel is like being in Brit Bike Heaven. I've never seen a Brough Superior in person but I hope to do so some day. Thanks!
Thank you very much Ken! Best wishes

What a way to start your Cul de Sac series!
What an incredible Brough, pity you didn’t take it for a spin 😀
Have good week Mike ☕️👍
Thanks for sharing Mike, a beautiful bike.
Magic 👍👍😀
Looks beautifully made for sure.
Thank you Mike - seen plenty of descriptions of the SS100, but never the SS80
Quiet ? Other than the exhaust you can hear the valve train a mile away ! Ha ! Beautiful bike. Thanks.
Thanks 👍
Absolutely stunning.
Mike....que lindos tus videos...saludos Rafa de mardel plata Argentina
Thanks Mike interesting video 👍
Magic!!!!! Beautiful motorcycle!! Thank you from Hungary.
You’re one of my favorite subs on TH-cam! Great work.
A lovely machine to kick off the series, Mike. Brough Superiors were indeed marketed as the Rolls-Royce of motorcycles and gained explicit permission to use the phrase after a Rolls executive toured the Brough factory.
I've been watching old episodes of Lovejoy, in one episode a Brough Superior SS80 was featured....great to see another SS80, great video.
Absolutely beautiful bike
Fantastic machine
Really well described again
Beautiful 😍

How can anyone dislike this video 🤪 Great to see the mini series back👍
I won’t one !! Stunning 👍👍👍👍👍 Ray🇬🇧
Wow!! Priceless.
Nice job Mike detailing the bike.

Very informative, great upload & bike. Thanks to you both for making this possible
Great to see your videos back! Great way to start them off! Whoo! Hoo!
So beautiful
Some bike, as you said the Rolls of bikes at the time
Tasty bread & butter , thanks
Wonderful.
Did he not offer you a go on it Mike? Great research and commentary.
Splendid !
Absolutely stunning, thanks Mike !
Just hope he didn’t roll it off a trailer out of shot at the end of the cul-de-sac !
I can guarantee he didn’t.

Informative post!
Wow I've never seen this motorcycle before! Very cool! Was it made by the British also? Very interesting!
Hi Tom. Yes it was! It's as British as they get 😉🇬🇧
Art on wheels!
Beautiful bike and running so good.
Would that be called a 'bagger' in America?
How do you want to top that?
Ridden on a UK plate? Not an Oregon plate?
A good question for Mike to answer. Inquiring minds wanna know.
Welcome back Mike. And what a beauty to start with.! 👍 How does a bike like a Brough tolerate the gas that is currently available ,i.e. ethanol ? Or does the owner use additives ? Cheers. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
We have non-ethanol available here.
It's "God's Own Touring Machine". Why WOULDN'T it be seen on that cul-de-sac? It's in grand historic company there.
I can't believe how much Australia looks like the USA.
Anyone able to advise how to remove drool from keyboard?😎
Place in a garbage bag full of rice for a couple of weeks!
The owner doesn't want people to know he has a $250,000 motorcycle. That's probably an interesting story in itself!
A quarter mil?? Wowza.
A SS80 wouldn't be valued at $250,000......a SS100 might be.
