Bought this TV from this video honestly been watching movies and gaming on it and looks great I can’t even notice the difference from other higher end TVs either like The other reviewers do sometimes people don’t want to spend a fortune for very minor unnoticeable resolution Great review brother

    Wonderful entry level TV. Initially bought a 55" Sony X80J, and found the picture to be dark, grainy and fuzzy. Exchanged it for the Samsung AU8000 in the same size. The Samsung picture is clear and bright, with vibrant colours. The Samsung Plus free live TV channels are great also. Thanks for reviewing this TV. 💙

      I did exactly the same thing. Bought a Sony 55 80J, terrible picture, then got the AU80000. I agree it has great color and depth but one thing that jappens is the audio and video go out of sync on a regular basis and for no reason. Any idea's or suggestions on how to fix this?

    I just upgraded to this TV from my 1080p Samsung I had since 2008. based on your review. I was not blown away by the picture like I was when I first upgraded to a HD Tv. I mainly watch HD & 4K content using my Apple TV 4K. Why do some movies look great while other not so much on AU8000. I can get a consistent picture that I like like on my old TV. Thinking of returning it and I’ve only had the AU8000 for a day.

    • @TechSteve
      @TechSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TechSteve I did more research. My old Samsung 1080p TV was a top of the line TV that was well lit, vibrant colors with very clear picture. It was the edge lighting in the AU8000 that wasn’t mind blowing for me. I researched more Samsung TV’s and decided to get the Samsung 65 inch Q80A TV because of the full array dimming back lighting. The TV looks great connected to my Apple TV 4K. Very happy with the picture. I don’t think you reviewed this TV yet but I’ll be checking for your review if you do one. I'm looking for helpful reviews to help me with the new set-up of this TV for my very elderly neighbour. He has a streaming box affiliated with his home country of Poland, which is plugged into HDMI1. It works properly...but he has trouble activating it...and I am just looking for a simple way to program it into "push this one button" approach on the remote. He cannot be taught to navigate to HDMI1 on-screen, that's beyond him
    His older Samsung TV facilitated this, pressing "Smarthub" always somehow defaulted to using the streaming box as the input. The new one unfortunately does not.
    In any case...your review, both this one and the original, was very informative. You do good work!

    Samsung really jacked up the price for the 2021 model $549.99 Jan 2022, I thought prices are supposed to drop, especially on a low end model.

    My little review:
    Brightness could be higher. Maxed out it's still a little on the dim side.
    Speakers are pretty bad. They are are quite tinny. Very little bass. Also, if you want to use the low latency "gaming mode" for the picture settings, it also locks the audio into gaming mode as well. So with gaming mode enabled (which you will definitely want for games or using a mouse), you can't adjust the audio at all. Good news is you can raise the TV up a little by adjusting the legs, to fit a sound bar underneath. You'll probably want one, or headphones, if audio is important to you.
    There is no support for 1440p. You're stuck between 1080p and 4k. Those 2 resolutions work fine, but in between is a mess. If you're using an Xbox Series S (maxes at 1440p), avoid this TV, unless you're ok being stuck in 1080p. Same goes for a PC. If your PC can handle 4k, then no problem. But if not, you're down to 1080p.
    The remote is subpar. I mean I guess it's alright if you're really minimalistic, but using it and navigating menus is not very good. Clunky.
    Those are the negatives.
    On the positive side, the image quality is quite good. The TV is super thin. I mean it, it's really damn thin. Would look great mounted on a wall. Bezels are really thin as well. The price is decent.
    It's my first Samsung TV, I thought I would be blown away given their reputation for screens, but I'm really not. It's good enough, but nothing special. Feels like cost cutting at every corner.

    My only concern is DSE and black levels for gaming. The black obviously ain't gonna be OLED black but the VA panel should be way better than IPS.
