This is one of the most beautiful melodies ever written, but perhaps the greatest thing about it is how it lends itself to a classic approach in a jazz context.
Whenever I play this I am always finding new ways to phrase it. (You'll hear me say this a lot). There is so much space, that can be applied with how you shape the phrases instead of the approach of having physical gaps of silence like you do with jazz sometimes.
Improvisation wise, this one is more about playing through your lines like a classical player, as opposed to the more articulated feel of a jazz player, and away from a scattered articulation you might use when playing in a type of free jazz style. Plenty of long notes and legato, but with a more jazz like note selection. (Or at least that's what I think I was trying to do!)

This guy is a humble and gifted musician whom I had the pleasure to bump into at Piccadilly Circus Station, busking. I also saw him at a Prom playing the theme tune of the film Genevieve. If he is playing anywhere, go and see him. I'm sure he would of had the approval of the genius that was Larry Adler had he heard Philip play.

Exceptional.... I started playing three years ago. Blues on a diatonic. I bought a Chromatic six months ago and realized I was in way over my head, but I love the sound of a "big chromie" so much that I can't put it down. Your music is inspiring. Thank you.

+H Rafiei This is actually the jazz standard version of this song. It's in the key of D. By note are you asking for sheet music? I can't find a version in D online as mostly it's in the original key of F. This version I have done here is the Tony Bennet version. When I get a chance I'll write it out in D with chords.
