Another curly question if you get to ask.
Why did BMD make this new switcher without convectional output connections for headphones (I get the talkback function) but why would BMD not make available an "adaptor cable" so it's possible to use ASAP without having to scour the net to try and purchase aftermarket.

Ask about rotation options natively in the ATEM software for constellation switchers! Or any switcher for that matter

Enjoy Vegas Buddy 😎 Excited they are updating the 4K range finally. I would also like to see 2ME 4K version. Couple questions for BM, Are they going to incorporate SRT / Bonding solutions in future. More options for Fibre, updates on current converters 😀 Also would love to see rack mount sdi/hdmi video hub to do away with all converters we have to use. Looking forward to hearing what more you find out.

Do they have any plans on updating the 72x72 video hub? Currently stuck at 3G, with nothing big enough in larger formats.

Thanks so much for bringing us this content from NAB, Ryan! 😊
Could you please ask the BMD team if the new 4K8 model will include the same built-in Streaming Bridge features as the HD8 ISO model, or is it missing that feature like the base model HD8? Since it sounds like this might still be a pre-production model that they are showcasing at NAB (due to the release date not being for a few months), I’m wondering/hoping that if they weren’t planning on including that feature originally, that they might be willing to add that in prior to starting manufacturing (or if it’s just a software-enabled feature, prior to product launch)?
Also, like someone else commented, it would be really nice to get either a Videohub and/or an ATEM switcher model that included both SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, for those of us who need to use a mix of equipment for our productions and want to avoid having to use a thousand converters all the time.
And finally, would it be possible for BMD to combine the capabilities of the Media Player and Media Pool in the ATEM Software Control with the new built-in storage in the Television Studio HD8 & 4K8 models, in order to basically have a built-in HyperDeck for playback purposes right inside those switchers (even if it only accepts a smaller number of file formats and codecs than a regular HyperDeck)? I don’t know if there are limitations in the engineering of those switchers that would preclude that from working, but it seems to me that if the switcher has the capacity for internal storage, that the media players should be able to make use of that storage and have access to a media pool that is more than just a couple dozen stills and 300 frames of video.
Thanks so much for any information or answers you can get to any or all of those questions/requests! 😊

Hi Ryan. Here is a question i would love to hear the answer to if it's possible or can be integrated in the the final version. Would it be possible to have one of the USB out be assignable? That would mean that I can send that USB directly to a computer for a Zoom meeting with whatever video signal I want to send to zoom instead of just the PGM feed, that way I don't send back to zoom the same video it's sending me in a hybrid conference for exemple. I know I can use an AUX out for that, but I would have to bring an extra SDI to HDMI converter, plus a Capture card to connect to the zoom computer. Having it coming directly from the mixer's USB out makes it a lot easier. Thanks

So I could record, internally, the 4k stream version while simultaneously streaming at 4k???

Was wissen Sie über Blackmagic Television Studio 4k8? Hat sich gegenüber der alten Version etwas geändert? Was ist neu in dieser Version? Vielen Dank

Hiya Ryan - Here's a curly question, I'd love you to ask.
Please ask about the audio processors in the new Television Studio HD8 ISO. It seems connecting an internal mixer via dual 1/4 TRS to RCA gives poor quality audio? Is this to force purchase on the new microphone convertor?
FYI - I'd love to connect the mixer (I'm using a Rodecaster Pro II) to the TV HD8 ISO via Dual 1/4 " to XLR, however in Perth, Western Australia, its impossible to buy such a cable. It also seems although the XLR inputs on the TV HD8 ISO are marked channel 1 and channel 2, they really should be marked Left and Right.

you may find its an earth loop issue, RCA Is not a balanced signal so if you went through a hum eliminator that might clean things up

@@RyanSomerfield Many thanks Ryan for your reply. I'm waiting for cables to arrive to try the XLR channel 1 & 2 on the HD8.
Hopefully that works as I really don't want to have to get the microphone convertor.

Hey Ryan- please ask BMD about audio assign onto channels 3-12 on the Constellation 8K pgm/aux- as you said many times, that would be amazing- top of the range mixer ( and price) should have all the best features in my opinion!

I have a feeling they won’t say but I’d love to know id there are any plans for an update to micro cinema or broadcast cameras? These cameras are perfect for my use case but they are getting old… (also if anyone knows of a modern alternative that doesn’t cost the earth let me know!)

Thanks Ryan. Can you ask Blackmagic if the HD8 can have assignable AUX outs other than the two we have now? And what other software upgrades are likely to come the HD8's way?

First, your audio seems really low compared to normal. Second, I want to see more about the 2110 products. How will they work? What will they use for a reference/sync source?

I like the versatility of the DeckLink IP/SDI HD being able to input or output two channels via Ethernet or SDI - I also like the fact that the Television Studio HD8 ISO can take remote cameras via Ethernet. I'd be far more happy if they didn't use different protocols 2110 IP and RTMP and if the Television Studio HD8 ISO could have fully assignable aux on all outputs like the Television Studio 4K8 ISO. Can these be resolved via firmware updates?

Excited about the coverage! What are your thoughts on Blackmagic only releasing a 4ME version of the 4K Constellation? Do you think they will release a 2ME version soon?
