Love the aggressive gnarly pick tones the Spector's have.
You can appropriate that sound on any bass which comes with active emg pickups
Great playing as always Patrick 🤘
Spector sounds good even with me playing it. Good one, Patrick.
I bought a Spector ns pulse2 recently, it’s just an amazing bass. Don’t know what I like more about it, the looks or the sound. It’s just a complete package and so well made
Killer demo as always, Patrick 😎🤘🏻🎸 these basses sound incredible. The emg pickups and darkglass tone capsule preamp is a phenomenal combination. Kinda like bartolini pickups with an Aguilar obp-3 preamp. That’s another phenomenal combo right there. Other than that, these are great sounding bass guitars.
The white pearl is nice, but both my Spector 4 and 5 string basses are Holoflash finish. The Rex 5 is so brutal! I have tuned it to drop G and shook the house! It was a blast! 🤪
Very cool. I would love to see a comparison video between the original Dimension and the HP Dimension.
ya me too, i tried a dimension last week at the store but hard to compare from youtube
@@Isen_hart Aye, I played a 5 string Dimension one summer ago and I still can't get it out of my head. Felt and sounded great, just a bit above my budget at the time. I bought a Fender Meteora instead which I'm very happy with, but the GAS is still killing me lol.
@@J0ttem i understand, my friend told me it sounded better with the same amp/settings than my fenders, dingwall and on par with my warwick Oo. He knows nothing about music instrument too which is a great reference lol. I tried the dimension 5 too.
i've never heard EMGz sound good on bass until i played them on a spector
after that i have an appreciation for them
If you like Spectors, you'll probably fall in love with Schecter as well. The first time I played a Spector, it reminded me of my Schecters. Very similar and, last I checked, the better models from both were made by WMIC in their factory in Seoul Korea. That is a very, very good bass factory.
Love my spectors. People need to feel it to understand why they are great.
Looks and sounds gorgeous ❤❤❤❤
The question now...are you a Warwick guy or Spector guy?
As a Warwick guy I’ve been loving the last few specters I saw live recently.
@@arcanesanctuary I'm a Warwick guy myself as well. My ride or die is a 5 strong corvette. I have owned a couple of spectors and I've kicked myself both times I traded them. Both are great and beautiful basses.
@@TheSiggy1990 yeah I got three warwicks I have had two spectors but the cheap ones they weren’t that good I’d love a higher end one. I got a corvette 5 also!
Either. Doesn't matter.
Yes.. I'm a spector guy but love the Warwick thumb need to get me a thumb 5 nt (mec electronics)
that riff at 34 seconds, fucking rad man
Have you tried also the Ibanez BTB805MS ? How does it feel compared with the Dimension 5 HP ?
I couldn't find them in local stores to try them.
I think Spectors are some of the coolest basses out there, and I'm on the market for a 6-string, but finding 6-string Spectors in non-ridiculous prices is next to impossible.
I'm not sure if it's because of the multiscale or not, but that Fiver has some extra tonal juice about it.
Spector is one of the few basses that I never played, that being said, being a fretless player I rarely see a fretless Spector. Especially on the used market.
They're fun to play but the sound isn't for everyone. If you thinking about trying one that sounds great is ns2 and ns5
Any advice so swap may squire 70 to performance 5?
I wouldn't mind a 5-string of the regular scale, but with Fishman Fluance pickups.
Do they make left handed?
Ok they are all awesome ... i'd say though they are very mean sounding which is great for metal n heavy stuff ... nothing wrong there ahaha...
They all cost a fortune like Warwick .... i used to have emg and i parted with them because they are too cold .... if u can afford them i'm sure they are all keepers ahaha...
I'm gonna check the prices here in Uk but i expect to go between £ 1800 n upwards
I have 4 Spector Euros, 3 with satin/matte necks and finishes. If you think these neck feel good....the satin is even better...like butta!
1800$CAD for the HP Ethos ain’t too bad, I’m tempted!
@@Ryzanu i would agree, but they are almost half price.
Hey Pat I can't tell in pic's or video if these have that Spector concave body, do they? these are perfect for the price
They do indeed. :)
Why would you want the 4 string multiscale to go to 37"? The whole point of multiscale is to offer scale lengths that make more sense for a given tuning. You don't need 37" for a standard E bass string.
I can't seem to find out where they where made, anyone know?
They will be Korean I should imagine
The better ones are made by WMIC at their factory in Seoul, Korea. This is good as that factory doesn't make a bad bass.
Just ordered two.. a black and a white ethos four string.
One for standard tuning, and the other will be tuned BEAD.
I'm running a tri-amp Ampeg system. MORLEY PRO ABC Pedal
1. Sansamp GT2 for guitar sound
2. Sansamp Bass Driver for bass sound.
3. Electro harmonics Synth 9
Pedal for Bass Synthesizer sound.
Pedals:
Justin Chancellor wah pedal
EBS compressor.
POG Octave
Boss bass chorus
Spectrum envelope filter
Boss Harmonist pedal
Rat Pro Co
Line 6 wireless pedal
Radial JDI DI
Peterson strobe tuner.
I want one with some Dingstrand Nordwall pickups what do you think
Gibder or Fenson might work better. 😅
I'd go for Dingstrand, why would you want your bass to sound the same as a Nordwall?
@@martinheath5947 more affordable, neck thru and with Wenge fretboard
I've owned 5 Spector basses over the years (4 4-string and 1 5-string). The look is always nice but I have never been a fan of the necks and I really don't care for their bridge design.
what?! The bridge is awesome, so easy to adjust and lock in place.
String changes are a pain in the ass with that bridge since there’s nothing holding the string in place. Other than that, I’m a fan.
Before ypu buy a Spector Dimension bass, make sure to check the shops' return policy. The QC on these is actually quite bad. High frets, badly carved nut, cheap bridge hardware, cheap tuners and etc... Spector is selling a $500 bass for $2k + . The Euro line is great, and worth every penny. But the Dimension line is kinda garbage.
I’ll keep my Dingwall
Nice basses not my type of music
They sound great. I think I detected string buzz but I don't mind
High Performance Series by #Spector is the best Bass I ever owned. I have a Blue & Blacc 4 String Dimension with Fluence picc ups I named Brooklyn. She is so Fly, I'll never sell her. Absolutely perfect for Metal. Her lows are like a punch in the face, hit so hard, her highs are like floating on a cloud. The Clarity. The Tone. She has settings that dial in what I need if I play with me fingers, another one that's superb for slap and tap, and the best one for a picc, I ever used, which is excellent cause I primarily use a picc for me stuff. She takes pedals like a Champion, she blends with #Ampeg flawlessly and her Battery port is the new one that allows easy and fast changing with just a flip of the cover, no removing screws needed. There's no necc dive. She holds Tune and intonation is easy, with each string getting it's own quality saddle. She's a Dream Axe come True. I still have me 1st Spector I ever purchased as well and I highly recommend #Spector Basses to anyone who takes Bass Guitar seriously. They're on a whole 'nother level. 💯🤟😊🎛
