1990s Grover Washington Jr. performing Mr. Magic with keyboardist Mike Kwas and his band- Charles Baldwin(bass), Jef Lee Johnson (gtr), Ted Thomas Jr. (drums)
I remember this was at the chestnut hill festival... they were driving dad from stage to stage in a golf cart.... lol... Those festivals are fun... lots of local artists selling amazing stuff!!!
That was part of the beauty that your dad brought with his music; a down to earth humbleness, yet a very approachable majesty. Which is why the world will still be listening to, and appreciating him and his music long after generations have come and gone! Not only is he your father, but he is also the father of Smooth Jazz. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of the world! 🎷
Great song with the amazing Jef Lee on the fretboard and Ted Jr holding down the pocket. The videograoher must be married to the keyboardist thoufh.. :(
I wanted to watch that amazing soloist play (Jef Lee Johnson). Instead the camera focused mostly on the (not so bad) white man, who wasn't playing a solo at the time. What's that about? If you want to get more TH-cam hits focus on the soloist who is playing at the time. At least for me, that's what I absolutely love.
This camera man sucks!!!! Beginner Camera man is missing all the actions of all the great musicians!! You would think that it's only one musician on stage, the keyboard player that's really not all that great.
This song, this song. This is one of the best I've ever heard. Especially with a 5 piece. Funky as hell. Mr. Magic. Damn!
The FuNkY Soulful Jef Lee Johnson!!🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥Rest in Paradise Brother!!🙏🏾🙏🏾💜💜

Camera guy and producer don't know a GUITAR solo when they hear it!

My exact sentiments! What the hell was that about? Pissed me off.
But that keyboarder tho
The camera man is a total fool. He needs a lesson on how to use the camera 📸...! As always, Grover, we love you...! 💓 💓 💓 R. I. P....!
LOL!! Everybody is in tone but the camera guy! But I got a feeling what he's thinking lol!!
@@robertdavis4408 I hope that this is a lady that has a crush on the keyboard player with that dam camera.
Cameras were heavy back then.
This looks like A cell phone video, you can see people walking.
Camera man doesn't know the difference between a keyboard and a guitar
I can do with out the key board player
oooooooo SHIT
I concur
Yes the camera man is a total fool. He definitely could use some lessons!
The keyboard player was too over the top.
