The 2nd DEADLIEST Road in the WORLD - The Treacherous Journey to Fairy Meadows 🇵🇰

- I had stepped off the bus after a sleepless overnight journey to crisp mountain air. The journey I was about to embark on was surprisingly popular, but still not one to take lightly. The road to Fairy Meadows is just under 16 km, but I promise you it will be the longest 16 km of your life. Then men who drive these roads are professionals and do it day in and day out in the summer months to earn a living. If the road wasn't bad enough, the jeeps that traverse these roads are old, unreliable, and not very comfortable. Luckily for me, I had the seat on the edge of the jeep to where if I let go of the metal pole I would fall out and most likely over the edge of the cliff to my death. By the time we arrived at the roads end, I was excited at the idea of walking the rest of the way to Fairy Meadows. I thought scammers only existed in the cities, but boy was I wrong. No problem though, as it only ended up being a minor speed bump. The weather wasn't great on this day, but stay tuned for the next episode to see crystal clear views of the world's 9th highest mountain! 🇵🇰

the guy didn't lie there is a hotel there it's a shack run by locals, and the views are amazing... but it is understandable clint didn't feel safe and there's no compulsion in travel... but i have to say he missed out...

That is one hell of a dangerous journey but its worth it the beautiful natural beauty is paradise in fairy meadows and the mountain views are breathtaking
he didn't lie to you... the upper fairy meadows is a 1 hour trek for locals but for people like you and me takes more like 3 to 4 hours... you missed out on an amazing sight man... the night sky at that viewpoint is absolutely magical

I only had two days and I wouldn't have made it to Nanga Parbat Basecamp the next day if I had stayed there. Also didn't like all of the anxiety the entire situation brought me. Thanks for watching!

I have done the islamabad to gilgit 3 times and yep shit of a drive lol. First time road blocked off at 3am in middle of nowhere with guys with machine guns, Thought I was a goner lol. On way back police ripped the whole bus apart and through everybodys gear. Took an hour and then stopped for another hour while everybody got off to pray at 5am. Fuk me.

so is there a hotel and viewing point etc in Upper Fairy Meadows? Is that where the other guys went? I could make out they were arguing with the guy and telling him you may get away with treating us like this as fellow Pakistanis but have some respect in tarnishing th image of the country by treating a foreginer like this.
Yes it is there and those guys had a great time there. I put a little insert while I was leaving there saying it was there and that it was nice. I didn't want to tarnish his business although he wasn't very truthful with us. Also, you can't access the main Nanga Parbat Basecamp from there unless you want to make it very difficult on yourself.
